The Volunteering & Community Officer plays a pivotal role in engaging and supporting volunteers to care for historic churches across England and Wales. The position may be full-time or split into two part-time roles, with flexible, home-based working and regular travel to sites.

Responsibilities:

· Lead and manage strategic partnerships at a local and national level.

· Operational line management of the Heads of Delivery and Impact ensuring the successful integration of BBBC into Family Action.

· Oversee budgets, manage financial risks, generate income, and contribute to sustainable service development.

· Represent BBBC and Family Action externally and build strong partnerships to support integrated service delivery.

· Ensure high-quality, safe, and compliant services through overseeing effective monitoring, auditing, and continuous improvement in line with Family Action’s polices and frameworks.

· Be a key member of Family Action’s London team and the wider Senior Leadership Group.

Chief Officer

Reporting to the Chair of the Trustee Board, the Chief Officer

• Is responsible to the Trustee Board for the management and leadership of Citizens Advice Woking,
• Represents Citizens Advice Woking to funders, partners and stakeholders,

• Manage CAW’s external relationships with our funders and the Woking community generally, to ensure satisfaction with the delivery of current projects, and their continuation,
• Collaborate closely with the other Surrey LCA Chief Officers to respond to the changing funding landscape. In parallel, continue to identify and deliver local projects for local funders,
• Ensure that suitable alternative premises are secured, and the transition is managed as smoothly as possible,
• Ensure the staff and volunteers are enabled to work effectively, particularly during this period of disruption,

The Chief Officer has an important leadership role, working closely with the Operations Manager, who has line responsibility for the staff and, generally, the internal CAW operation.  The volunteers are managed on a day-to-day basis by the Advice Session Supervisors, who are critical to ensuring the quality of advice to clients, and the smooth running of the office.

Overview

Involve Community Services is a local infrastructure charity that supports the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sectors of Bracknell Forest and Wokingham Borough. We offer development and governance support, funding advice, grant writing, volunteer and trustee recruitment, and a comprehensive training programme. We also run several well-being projects that include Community Navigation, Cancer Support and Social Prescribing within Wokingham Borough.

Role summary

The Community Development Worker will work across Wokingham Borough to assist small charities, community groups and social enterprises who have a health and well-being focus, as well as those organisations who aid residents with protected characteristics. They will assist organisations to find solutions to existing challenges and overcome barriers to optimise their delivery, e.g., through sourcing volunteers, committee members, funding opportunities, forming simple governance structures, and seeking premises.

The post holder will advocate for members of the community with protected characteristics as well as those whose voices are seldom heard, and act as a voice for marginalised groups, to aid inclusive decision making and delivery of services across the borough. The postholder will develop a broad, informed view of the local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector and will communicate this to colleagues within Involve, the wider Friendship Alliance (a collective of charities who have a shared interest in addressing loneliness and social isolation), and to statutory partners. The postholder will also identify gaps in provision and help to develop or enhance existing partnerships so to optimise their impact to residents.

PVRI is a small charity with a global reach. Our aim is to reduce the global burden of Pulmonary Vascular Disease with a particular focus on Pulmonary Hypertension (PH).

PH is a life-threatening and life-limiting condition that affects millions worldwide, but despite that, it isn’t widely recognised or well-understood. We help young people and adults overcome structural barriers and self-limiting behaviours that are holding them back.  Our clients are often disadvantaged or living at the margins, meaning they are disproportionately affected by substance misuse, homelessness, offending, mental health issues and other factors that contribute to social exclusion.

Reporting to the CEO and as a member of the Executive Team, the post holder will be expected to drive and manage the central administrative and core infrastructure functions across DHI to ensure we operate safely, securely, efficiently, and effectively. 

As well as being closely involved in the day-to-day activities of the functions for which you are responsible, you will provide high level proactive advice, and quality services for the other Directors across all central and client service areas, including, finance and procurement, human resources, information technology development, health and safety, premises, office services, in addition to working closely with our retained HR advisor.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in partnership with operational colleagues to supply clear, quality assured and compliant best practice processes from the centre, which are developed and implemented collaboratively with those delivering core services to DHI’s client base. 

The ideal person will combine practical, hands-on delivery with strong leadership and relationship building skills and be able to operate successfully in a dynamic, regularly changing environment.

The main purpose of this role is to provide strong operational leadership to ensure the safe, effective and values‑driven delivery of a non‑clinical mental health crisis alternative service. You will oversee day‑to‑day service operations, staff support, risk management processes and partnership working, ensuring that the environment remains compassionate, recovery‑focused and co‑produced. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of practice, safeguarding, and service performance so that people in crisis receive timely, person‑centred support that promotes hope, autonomy and emotional safety.

We are looking for a confident, compassionate leader with experience managing teams or services in mental health, social care or crisis support. You should have a strong understanding of trauma‑informed practice, recovery principles, safeguarding and risk management, as well as experience working with statutory and voluntary partners. We need someone who can motivate staff, foster a positive and reflective team culture, and drive quality, performance and service improvement. Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to stay calm and solution‑focused during complex situations. A commitment to person‑centred, recovery‑focused practice, emotional resilience, respect for diverse perspectives, flexibility in working patterns and solid IT skills will be key to succeeding in this role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Controller with experience of running the day-to-day financial operations of a dynamic charity. We are an ambitious charity with ambitious goals that needs a Financial Controller to support the charity in achieving these goals. This is a broad role that will include a wide range of responsibilities. The Financial Controller is responsible for managing the daily and weekly tasks of the Finance team, as well as periodic tasks that are less frequent.  These tasks include (but are not restricted to) all aspects of bank and cash, raising of invoices, generating BACS payments, all Finance input into payroll, VAT returns, Gift Aid claims and response to ad hoc queries from our front-line staff.  The Financial Controller managers one Finance Assistant and reports into the Head of Finance. The Head of Finance leads on budget setting, forecasting and monthly / quarterly / annual reporting, and the Financial Controller will support where needed.  The Financial Controller will also be the lead contact with external auditors following year end.
