Greyhound Rescue Wales (GRW) is Wales’ leading charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming greyhounds and lurchers. Founded in 1993, we have spent more than three decades championing the welfare of sighthounds and working towards our vision: a Wales without greyhound racing, where every greyhound and lurcher has a home and receives the best possible care.
In April 2026, after 25 years of determined campaigning to improve welfare and regulation within the racing industry, legislation to ban greyhound racing in Wales was finally passed. This landmark achievement marks the beginning of a new chapter for GRW as we expand our reach and capacity across the UK to ensure every greyhound leaving the racing industry has a rescue space, medical support and rehabilitation on the journey towards their forever home.
To help us grow sustainably and strengthen our long‑term impact, we are now seeking to develop our fundraising team with the creation of a Trusts and Foundations Officer. This role will play a key part in increasing and diversifying our income, enabling us to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome even more dogs during this pivotal moment in our charity’s history.
Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Trusts & Foundations fundraiser who is ready to strengthen and diversify their experience, to work with small, medium and high-value funders, and to play a meaningful role within Greyhound Rescue Wales.
The Trusts and Foundations Officer is responsible for securing grants of varying sizes, translating all aspects of GRW’s work into compelling, high-quality applications for a diverse range of prospective funders.
As part of our Income Generation Team, you will work closely with the Head of Fundraising, Sponsorship & Individual Giving Officer and Community & Events Fundraiser to help deliver an annual income target of £400K+.
You’ll take ownership of a varied portfolio of trust and foundation relationships, building on warm funders while also researching and developing new prospects at the four-to six-figure level.

With nationally recognised, award-winning partnerships as our platform, matched with a record-high brand sentiment rating, a highly prominent cause and a marketplace looking for long-term strategic partnerships, we are building the team infrastructure to maximise our strong position through the launch of two developed functions – Account Development and Business Development.
What the job involves
As Business Development Manager (Health), you’ll direct identifying and securing high-value partnerships within the health and pharmaceutical sectors, helping to generate meaningful income and impact. This is a hands-on role where you’ll use your sector knowledge and commercial insight to build and manage a targeted pipeline, developing tailored, high-value propositions and leading opportunities from initial engagement through to agreement.
Working closely with colleagues across Fundraising, Research, Health Services, Equity and Improvement (HSEI) and the Leadership Team, you’ll turn existing relationships and networks into strong, value-aligned partnerships. You’ll take a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement, using insight and influence to create opportunities and drive new business.
You’ll be responsible for managing your pipeline effectively, tracking performance and balancing shorter-term delivery with longer-term growth. Alongside this, you’ll act as a health sector specialist within the team, bringing insight, credibility and up-to-date knowledge to strengthen our approach.
Collaboration is key, and you’ll work across teams to ensure partnerships are set up for long-term success, with smooth handovers and clear alignment. Success in the role will be measured through income secured, pipeline strength and the quality and impact of the partnerships you build.
What we want from you
We’re looking for a Business Development Manager who brings both commercial insight and a genuine passion for making a difference in the health space. You’ll have built your career in business development, sales or high-value fundraising, ideally within health or pharmaceutical settings, and will be able to point to examples where you’ve successfully secured significant partnerships or commercial agreements.
You’ll be comfortable shaping compelling, high-value funding propositions that resonate with partners, and you’ll have a strong understanding of how the health sector works in practice, including decision-making processes and the wider regulatory landscape. Just as important is your ability to build and maintain trusted relationships. You’ll feel comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, bringing credibility, professionalism and a collaborative approach to every interaction.
We’d especially love to hear from you if you’ve worked within healthcare, life sciences or pharmaceutical organisations, or if you have experience building partnerships in a charity or purpose-led environment. An understanding of areas such as ESG, research or impact-led partnerships would also be a real advantage, particularly in helping us grow meaningful and sustainable collaborations.

How and where we work

Chief Executive, Cavernoma Alliance UK

Cavernoma Alliance UK is a well-established UK charity supporting people affected by cavernoma, a rare condition involving clusters of abnormal blood vessels in the brain or spinal cord.
Founded in 2005 by people with lived experience of cavernoma, we provide peer support, trusted information, awareness raising and research advocacy for the cavernoma community. We also work closely with leading neurologists, neurosurgeons and researchers across the UK to help improve clinical care, information and research for people affected.
We are now looking for a new Chief Executive to lead and be an ambassador for the work of CAUK. This is a meaningful and varied role in a small charity where your contribution will be visible. It would suit someone looking for a senior charity role with real purpose, flexibility and a close connection to the community they support.
You will be joining an organisation with a supportive Board of Trustees, a staff team that cares deeply about the community we serve, highly committed volunteers, and strong clinical and research partnerships.
We are in the second year of our five-year strategy, ‘Together For a Cure - 2025 to 2030’, and are making good progress across our priorities. The current Chief Executive is leaving after three and a half years in post to take up a new opportunity, and the charity is in a positive and stable position.
A major focus for the role over the coming years will be supporting delivery of a five-year UK-wide clinical trial starting in August 2026. This study could potentially identify the first medication treatment for cavernoma.
Alongside this, the role will focus on maintaining sustainable income, supporting high quality peer-led services through our Head of Volunteering and Member Services and volunteer team, and continuing to grow CAUK’s reach and awareness, particularly online.
We would particularly welcome applications from people with previous charity management experience, whether within a small charity or in a more senior role within a larger organisation. We are also open to applicants who can demonstrate a strong understanding of the charity sector through trustee, professional or voluntary experience.
This is a home-based role with flexibility, although there will be occasional travel across the UK, typically every 1 to 2 months, including meetings in London.

The Role
As Retail Assurance Manager, you will provide specialist support, guidance, and oversight across all areas of operational risk within retail and estates, ensuring our locations operate safely, compliantly, and to agreed organisational standards. As the estate continues to grow, this role will enhance the organisation’s confidence in retail governance through effective assurance processes, training, and continuous improvement.
The role will develop and maintain frameworks, policies, and tools to support retail managers in managing risk locally, covering areas such as Health and Safety, Fire Safety, financial controls and Gift Aid. By embedding accountability for risk management at every level, the Retail Assurance Manager will enable managers to own compliance within their areas, reinforcing a culture of safety, integrity, and strong performance.
Working with the Head of Retail and Head of Retail Property and Estates, the post holder will design and deliver an operational annual retail audit programme, assessing performance across operational, financial, and compliance areas. Findings will inform improvement plans, demonstrate governance to the wider organisation, and help reduce incidents of non-compliance, theft, and fraud.
Specifically, you will:
Be the Health & safety (H&S) lead for retail and wider charity and be main point of contact for all related queries, concerns and escalations.
Provide “how to” checklists and guidance for ladders, steamers, reading and actioning risk assessments etc.
Be responsible for records of compliance training, Health & Safety inductions and DSE assessments across retail and the wider charity, flagging to senior managers non-compliance.
Develop risk assessments and processes with owners of the risk so these are relevant and highlight `immediate` and `progressive` actions.
Support the Centre Manager and Café Manager in food safety compliance developing food safety policies and procedures.
Work across retail and operations to ensure the Business Continuity Plan is up to date and maintain team`s risk registers.
Create an intuitive system to ensure Health & Ssafety policy and procedures are maintained, relevant and up to date.
Support provision of COSHH registers on our premises.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
To have proven experience in an assurance, audit, compliance, risk, Health & Safety, or retail operations role (ideally within multi-site retail or a customer-facing estate).
To have working knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice (e.g., Health & Safety, Fire Safety, food safety where applicable, GDPR/data protection, safeguarding awareness) and the ability to translate requirements into practical guidance.
To have experience of planning and delivering an audit/inspection programme, including developing checklists/standards, conducting site visits, identifying non-conformance, and agreeing proportionate improvement actions.
To have experience of producing clear reports and presenting findings to different audiences, including senior stakeholders, with recommendations that balance risk, practicality and commercial impact.
A NEBOSH qualification would be preferred but we would consider IOSH with a view to training towards NEBOSH to the right applicant.
To be Educated to A Level or above.
To have basic Health and Safety and Fire training in previous roles alongside an awareness of GDPR, Cyber Security and Safeguarding or ability to demonstrate awareness of the above. Good understanding of Data Protection principles.

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) is seeking a highly organised and proactive Clinical Guidelines Assistant to support the delivery of our Clinical Guidelines Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to work that helps improve the quality of paediatric healthcare by supporting the development, appraisal and consultation of clinical guidelines and evidence reviews.
Reporting to the Project Manager (Clinical Guidelines), you will provide essential administrative, coordination and research support across a range of clinical guideline and evidence review projects. You will work closely with clinical leads, working groups, committees and external stakeholders, helping to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, accurately and to a high standard.
This role would suit someone with excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and an interest in healthcare, research and evidence-based practice.

The successful candidate will bring strong quantitative and economic research skills to work across a range of areas, including interest rates, inflation, Bank of England policy, monetary-fiscal coordination, credit conditions, financial stability, public investment, distributional impacts, and the design of alternative monetary tools.
