Our classes don't just teach English, they build the confidence and collective power people need to organise around housing and employment rights.
About the role
Working closely with our Fundraising Lead, you'll take real ownership of relationships with trusts, foundations and corporate funders, while helping shape how we diversify our income going forward. This is a role with genuine scope to bring your own ideas and see them through, not just execute someone else's plan.
You will:
- Write compelling grant applications, funding proposals and reports that win and retain funding
- Research and build a realistic pipeline of trusts, liveries and corporate foundations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing donors and prospects
- Contribute to EFA's fundraising strategy, including newer income streams such as statutory, corporate, individual giving, membership and events
- Liaise with our Executive Team, Hub Leads and Project Managers so funding proposals stay grounded in what's actually happening in our classrooms and communities

About you
You don't need a degree, and you're not expected to tick every box, nobody does. We're looking for someone with a track record of successful grant writing, strong research and relationship-building skills, and the organisation to manage multiple funding deadlines at once. Knowledge of the UK charity sector and UK trusts and foundations is essential; experience with public sector or EU education funding is a bonus.

Job Summary
This Volunteering Coordinator is a new position that will directly support the management of our volunteers, the projects they work within and how they engage with people experiencing homelessness. Volunteers are integral to our projects year-round and contribute to our strategic goals around community power and solidarity. You will work within Creative Youth Network as part of the Youth Services team, delivering, high-quality, evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing, mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties.
This is a 1 year training role within the Children and Young People’ Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT). You will attend Exeter University for all university based taught and self-study days required by the education provider, and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using your newly developed skills. Your travel and accommodation to Exeter University will be provided for you as part of the trainee programme.
You will then be based at The Station (BS1) or Kingswood Estate (BS15) sites with up to two evening open access sessions per week. The training and service experience will equip you with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively within the wider service.

Macular disease is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK, with around 300 people diagnosed every day. The Macular Society is the only charity determined to beat the fear and isolation of macular disease with world-class research, and the best advice and support.
To support people affected by macular disease now, the Macular Society provides a range of support, information and services. Our research programme is focused on finding new treatments and a cure to beat macular disease forever.
This is a permanent, part-time job-share role working Monday and Tuesday. You will work closely with the existing Community Engagement Manager, who works Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, providing an important overlap day on Tuesday.
The role covers the whole of the South of England, including London. You will help strengthen community connections, support volunteers and local groups, and build relationships with organisations and stakeholders across the region.
Key accountabilities of the role:
Support community groups and peer networks across the South of England, including London.
Lead local community engagement and ensure community insight informs wider work.
Work closely with the other job-share postholder to provide clear handovers and consistent support.
Support and engage volunteers in partnership with the Volunteer and Group Support Team.
Build relationships with community organisations, healthcare professionals and other key partners.
Gather and share insight to help shape services and organisational decisions.
Support relevant fundraising and partnership opportunities.
Provide information, advice and learning to external partners.
Maintain knowledge of local and national services to support signposting and referrals.
Plan volunteer development and community engagement activities.
Promote inclusive, accessible and welcoming approaches. You will have experience of community engagement, partnership working or service delivery and be confident building trusted relationships with a wide range of people and organisations.
You will be able to work independently, manage competing priorities and work effectively as part of a job-share arrangement. Strong communication, organisation and IT skills are essential.
