The Head of Trusts and Foundations is a leadership role within our Key Relationships team.  You will provide strategic direction and drive significant growth in income from charitable trusts and foundations.  This is a chance to lead a critical area of our fundraising mix, and create a step-change in activities and outcomes to increase the number and longevity of donors giving at the six and seven-figure grant level.  You will have the support of a small team as well as a well-developed operations unit, to drive our programme forward.

It is therefore essential that you bring a proven and successful track record of securing gifts from trusts and foundations at the six-figure level or more, as well as managing people and getting the best out of them.  Your creativity and highly developed relationship building skills and analytical abilities have underpinned your success so far, and you enjoy working in lock-step with colleagues to craft and convey compelling stories and cases to secure philanthropic support.  To be a successful leader in our Key Relationships team will require resilience, adaptability, and solutions-focussed approach.

This role provides proactive administrative support to the Bishop of Ripon. The Bishop's PA represents the Bishop's Office and is often the first point of contact.

The postholder will manage the Bishop's Office and ensure that work for the Bishop of Ripon is completed to a high standard. Much of the work is highly confidential, so the postholder must be able to deal with this discreetly and sensitively. The PA is a vital part of the local Ripon Area team but must be able to work independently and use initiative as necessary. Commitment to supporting the Bishop's ministry is essential, and a good understanding of the Christian Faith and Anglican worship is helpful.

Daily tasks will include prioritising mail and messages, organising the Bishop's diary, drafting replies and/or briefing papers as appropriate, producing communication and paperwork around the Bishop's appointments (including church visits and clergy meetings) promptly, attending and arranging events and meetings and in general ensuring that the Bishop is properly resourced and supported in his/her work. As well as overseeing the Ripon Episcopal Area, the Bishop has some diocesan responsibilities, which necessitate travel around the Diocese, and national responsibilities which include travel to London and elsewhere in the country. The planning of the Bishop's diary will reflect the travel involved.

The PA will have key working relationships with other senior staff in the Diocese and particularly those in the Ripon Area. The PA will work closely with the Archdeacon of Richmond and Craven and their PA. The postholder will also be in frequent contact with the Area and Assistant Area Deans and other Area Officers. As the Bishop is often out of the office, the post-holder should be a self-starter and capable of using their initiative with regard to planning and managing their workload.

There may be the possibility of some home-working - details to be discussed with the post holder.

Principal Duties

• Manage the Bishop's diary, appointments, travel and event logistics
• Plan the annual meeting cycle for various committees and individuals
• Manage the approval system for Lay Eucharistic Ministers, including the renewals every five years.
• Anticipate and act proactively on information that comes into the office (via email, phone or letter) particularly where this relates to diary and deadline matters.
• Ensure that appropriate matters are brought to the attention of the Bishop
• Arrange Confirmations, Licensings and other church services and handle related administration.
• Manage annual review appointments (MDRs) for clergy, ensuring that the necessary paperwork is issued and received within appropriate timeframes.
• Manage the 'New in Post' system alongside the Archdeacon's PA
• Administer the clergy appointments process within the Ripon Area, working closely with the Archdeacon, the Archdeacon's PA, Patrons and parish representatives. Ensure that all legal requirements are met.
• Managing meetings for PTO applications.
• Prepare materials for meetings; to occasionally attend and take minutes.
• Oversee the Bishop's expenses and local budget, ensuring that accurate records are kept and returned to the Bishop of Leeds Financial Officer monthly.
• Organise and maintain general and confidential filing systems, including clergy files.
• Manage the Bishop's Office, including ordering stationery, dealing with phone systems, etc

Other duties

• Represent the Bishop's Office with professionalism, discretion and pastoral sensitivity.
• Welcome visitors to the Bishop's Office, ensuring that they are dealt with in a polite and courteous manner.
• Assist in providing refreshments when necessary
• Attend meetings and other events (outside the office) as agreed with the Bishop
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity at all times, ensuring that all confidential material is properly managed and stored.
• Undertake any training as required and be willing to understand GDPR and Safeguarding practices.

My client, a well known charity, is looking to recruit an experienced Financial Accountant to join them for a period of 18 months. Working as part of the financial reporting team, your role will be to work on a project focused on providing financial expertise and support to the team with the 2026 Charities SORP, based on updated FRS 102, which introduces mandatory changes for accounting periods. The role is being offered on a fixed term basis and will be focused on the transition to new accounting standards and statutory reporting.

To be considered for the role you will need to have a recognised accountancy qualification and be a strong team player with analytical skills. You will also need to be well versed in the FRS 102 changes, including Income Recognition, Three Tier Reporting and Leases.

The role is Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. This is a busy role and will include the following:
Raise sales invoices for recharge of costs and other budget holder requests
Carry out review and reconciliation of aged debtors to ensure amounts owed are kept to a minimum and, where necessary, budget holders are informed of outstanding amounts due
Review bank statements daily to ensure all income is reported to budget holders in a timely and accurate manner
Post all income transactions to accounting software on a timely basis
Ensure all supplier invoices received are sent to the appropriate budget holder for approval and coding, before filing electronically and posting to the accounts
Creating BACs Payment runs on a timely basis by collating all required information, entering details on the bank payment website, and notifying bank account signatories promptly
Ensure all payments are posted to accounting software on a timely basis
Review of creditors ledger and liaison with suppliers
Collate all staff expense claims, ensuring that all claims have sufficient supporting documentation, been appropriately authorised and coded
Complete monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts.
Reconcile petty cash and currency balances
Perform all other functions required to bring the accounts to trial balance monthly
Assist the Finance Director to produce timely and relevant management accounts

Based in the Communications team, this hands-on role will craft high-impact stories that elevate WWT’s voice, build brand awareness and deepen engagement with our visitors, supporters and partners. Working with colleagues from conservation teams to visitor centre staff, you’ll uncover and share purpose-driven stories that showcase the wonder of wetlands and the impact of WWT’s work across the UK and beyond. 

You’ll produce high-quality, audience-focused content – from articles and video scripts to campaign copy and thought leadership pieces – and lead the content component of key campaigns. Turning scientific insights into accessible and inspiring content, you’ll tell engaging stories that reflect our brand, values and ambition for a world where wetlands thrive.

About You

We are seeking an individual with:

• Proven experience in storytelling, journalism, copywriting or content creation.
• Experience developing narrative-led multimedia content and storyboards.
• Outstanding writing, editing and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
• Confident collaborator, able to work with scientists, site teams, volunteers and senior leaders.
• Experience creating content for digital platforms and an understanding of digital best practice.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects.
• Confident in seeking stories, researching and developing ideas for high-impact creative content.

About the role

Home-based role within the East Midlands or Yorkshire and the Humber, or within reasonable travelling distance to meet the requirements of the post (subject to meeting homeworking assessment requirements, including a minimum broadband speed of 18Mbps and a dedicated space to work from).

In this role, you will be working collaboratively with other CSP organisers and colleagues across the wider Employment Relations and Union Services (ERUS) team, to support the continued development of the CSP as an effective trade union.

You will recruit members and local union reps while supporting workplace activity and campaigns to defend and improve working conditions.

The post-holder will be able to use their experience, knowledge and skills to help realise the CSP organising strategy, participating in operational and strategic planning and evaluating the outcome of activities.

To succeed in this post, you will be an excellent communicator with confident and credible presentation skills. You will have a good understanding of the role of workplace representatives and the particular issues for a trade union and professional body. You will also need to have sensitivity and skills in facilitation to enable members to find their own solutions to workplace issues.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as an organiser within a trade union or equivalent expertise within another organisation.

The role involves extensive travel, chiefly within the areas of East Midlands and Yorkshire and the Humber.
