You’ll be the first point of call for householders who need free and impartial advice about how they can lower their bills and reduce their environmental impact. Home Energy Scotland is a free, impartial advice service funded by the Scottish Government and managed by the Energy Saving Trust. Changeworks has been involved in delivering the service for 17 years, and currently manages advice centres in the Highlands and Islands and South East of Scotland.
We provide high quality advice and information on topics including energy efficiency in the home, renewable technologies and saving water. We also support many people who are living in fuel poverty and refer householders to grants and funding to keep their homes warmer for less. The ideal candidate and the role

As an Energy Advisor, you'll provide high-quality, personalised advice that helps customers understand their options, take action and make positive changes to their energy use.
You will join a supportive team of customer-focused advisors in a fast-paced environment. The role involves handling inbound enquiries and making outbound calls to existing customers. An interest in energy, sustainability or the environment would be an advantage, but it isn't essential as full training will be provided. You will require good IT skills and have a stable internet connection.
As the Home Energy Scotland Highlands & Islands Advice Centre, we support customers across Argyll & Bute, Highland, Na h-Eileanan Siar (Western Isles), Orkney and Shetland. To be eligible for this role, you must live within one of these local authority areas.

About the role
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director (MD) will provide both strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the organisation delivers its mission while remaining financially resilient, well-governed and responsive to the needs of the communities it serves.

Support the Board of Directors to fulfil its governance responsibilities through high-quality reporting, planning and decision-making.

Oversee and report on organisational performance to the Board of Directors quarterly.
Act as the primary link between the Board and the operational team.

Role Description
The Operations and Finance Manager will play a central role in ensuring the effective day-to-day running of the Foundation. This role is responsible for developing and coordinating a volunteer befriending service that enhances recovery-focused support for service users. You will recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, ensuring they are well-prepared, supported, and aligned with organisational policies and procedures. Working closely with the Service Manager and wider team, you'll match volunteers appropriately, ensuring risk information is reviewed and placements are safe and effective.
You'll promote a service user-centred approach, ensuring befriending activities meet identified needs and improve wellbeing. The role also includes identifying funding opportunities and submitting applications to support the growth and sustainability of the volunteer programme.
What do I need to bring with me?
You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. Steamship Shieldhall is seeking to appoint an experienced freelance Commercial Manager to build new income streams to support the ongoing operation, conservation and sustainability of one of the country's most significant historic ships.
Shieldhall is berthed year-round in Southampton and welcomes passengers and visitors on board from 110 Berth in the Western Docks. She is capable of carrying up to 220 passengers and from spring to autumn each year operates a programme of public sailings ranging from two hour trips to full day cruises. She is also open for alongside events, and is available for private charters. In addition, she can be hired for use alongside such as for training activities, meetings, functions and filming.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for identifying and realising new opportunities for revenue generation for Steamship Shieldhall, as well as supporting Shieldhall’s experienced volunteers with maximising income from existing activities.
This commission is an important element of the “Steamship Shieldhall: towards 2055, the next 10 years” project which is supported by a Development Phase grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
