The Exempt Accommodation Support Service is based at our main hub in Digbeth but provides outreach support across the city. We are looking for project workers to provide flexible, person-centred support to people aged 25 years plus who are precariously accommodated, have a history of homelessness or who are at risk of becoming homeless. It will primarily be supporting people living in exempt accommodation who have support needs relating to substance use, physical health and mental health.
The aims of this service are to provide additional support to improve access and sustainment of suitable accommodation for people engaging in structured drug and alcohol treatment, to reduce the scale of unmet housing need for this group of clients and to build evidence of housing-related need and effective interventions. The service will provide a range of practical support around finances, health and wellbeing, access to volunteering or training opportunities and integration into local communities as well as supporting continued engagement with treatment and tenancy sustainment.
This is a part office-based, part community-based role with a requirement to travel to accommodation providers and outreach sites. Travel expenses will be paid for any journeys undertaken.

1. Provide a person-centred service to individuals, taking a psychologically informed approach, advising and supporting to ensure that clients are given choice and control about how their support is delivered.

The right Senior Advocacy Officer will help us to lobby UK Parliament to further privacy and wider rights at a critical time – when a legal framework on police use of facial recognition is very soon to be introduced, and police are expanding their use of AI and new surveillance technologies. The Fundraising Intern will support Trees for Cities’ fundraising activities while gaining practical experience across corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, major donors and supporter engagement.
You will help research potential supporters, prepare fundraising communications and applications, maintain accurate records, respond to enquiries and support events, donor visits and corporate volunteering days. You will work with colleagues across the organisation and receive guidance and mentoring from experienced fundraising professionals.
This is a varied and supportive opportunity to develop transferable skills and begin a career in fundraising while contributing to greener, healthier and more resilient urban environments.

We’re looking for an organised, proactive and enthusiastic person who communicates clearly and enjoys working with others. You will be comfortable researching information, managing different tasks, meeting deadlines and paying close attention to detail. You will also be willing to learn, use your initiative and handle sensitive information professionally.
You do not need a degree or previous fundraising or charity-sector experience. We welcome relevant skills gained through paid work, volunteering, education, community activities, caring responsibilities or personal projects. You should be comfortable using standard IT systems and share our commitment to creating healthier, greener cities.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable professional to manage a caseload of up to 20 clients, supporting individuals with mental health conditions into meaningful employment using the IPS model. The ideal candidate will work closely with clinical teams, contribute to multi-disciplinary care planning, and build strong relationships with employers to tailor job opportunities. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential for managing referrals, job retention support, and compliance with NHS and Hestia protocols. The role also requires accurate KPI tracking, benefit guidance, and flexibility to work across various settings. A commitment to professional development, collaboration, and client-centred outcomes is key.
What do I need to bring with me?
You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.
Someone who is a self starter and comfortable with a lone working environment, you will have strong empathy skills and an eye for detail. You should have experience of supporting people in a job search and have made an impact on this. To succeed you would need to have worked in a target environment and used to meeting and exceeding targets.
