About the role
We are looking for a passionate and inspirational individual to lead our Patient Support service across Scotland & Northern Ireland. Rare Dementia Support (RDS) is a UCL-led collaborative service offering specialist social, emotional and practical support services for individuals living with, or affected by, a rare dementia diagnosis. Our vision is for all individuals with, at risk of, or supporting someone with one of these forms of dementia to have access to information, tailored support and guidance, and contact with others affected by similar conditions. RDS is provided by the UCL Dementia Research Centre (DRC) at the Queen Square Institute of Neurology and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery - where the post is based - and partners, and funded by The National Brain Appeal.
You will contribute to the work of the Rare Dementia Support (RDS) direct support team providing advice via support calls and in-person at the new Rare Dementia Support Centre (RDSC) by supporting people living with atypical, inherited, and young onset dementias, their carers, their families, and their friends, and professionals and practitioners working to support them. This role includes the opportunity to shape and direct special projects related to the development of new support groups, professional training, or patient and public involvement/engagement (PPI/E), in line with the activities of RDS and the wider Dementia Research Centre. The post is not a research post, and would be suited to persons with an experienced background gained by working as Dementia Advisers within charity organisations.
The post is available immediately and funded by a donation from The National Brain Appeal until 31 March 2028 in the first instance.

JOB PURPOSE
To assist the Programmes & Funding Manager in coordinating the day-to-day delivery of AdviceUK's funded programmes. The role will keep projects running smoothly, maintain accurate monitoring data, and be a reliable first point of contact for members and delivery partners. The Programmes & Funding Officer will also assist in maintaining stakeholder relationships and ensuring that AdviceUK members have the practical support needed to access and sustain advice services.

·Assist the Programmes & Funding Manager in the delivery of AdviceUK's funded programmes and contribute to their design and development where required.
