IPS Employment Specialist
Job Type Full Time, Fixed Term (16 months)
Location Harrogate. HG1 5PD
Salary £24,020 - £30,790 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
The Role
Our Client is seeking an employment specialist to work within The Individual Placement and Support (IPS) team based in Harrogate. The IPS team help to find meaningful jobs for people they support that suit their skills, abilities and experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Actively promote their clients as potential employees and raise awareness of the service.
- Promote the ethos of their programmes and encourage employers to look positively on their clients as potential applicants.
- Create employment opportunities for their clients through proactive engagement with a network of potential employers.
- Facilitate work placements, work trials and work experience with relevant employers.
- Provide appropriate in-work support to clients who have secured employment.
- Work with their Employment Coaches to identify job ready clients and facilitate swift access to local employers.
- Match clients to vacancies based on their job goals, skills and experience.
- Build and maintain an appropriate knowledge of the skills needs of employers, and contribute to monitoring any changes within the labour market.
Skills and Qualifications
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Advice and Guidance (IAG) or Employment Related Services Level 3 (QCF) or equivalent
- Experience or an understanding of working with people with substance misuse issues, or similar groups.
- Experience of working with people on a one-to-one basis, offering motivation and support.
- Empathy with those with substance misuse needs.
- The ability to build good relationships with a range of different people, from employers to clients.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- A passion for making a difference to peoples’ lives.
- A degree-level education, or equivalent career experience.

Fundraising Manager
We are looking to recruit an experienced Fundraising manager to take on the well established fundraising of our organisation and further drive the growth of our donations and income base. The role will manage our communications, website and social media channels increasing engagement with key audience groups.
The successful candidate will be motivated, creative, highly organised and a confident and effective communicator and strong team player.
Our fundraising footprint and contacts are well established and the successful candidate will benefit from intial support and induction of existing fundraiser.
The Welcome Centre is an independent charity providing crisis support in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. We run a large food bank operation providing practical support. We also have an in-house Advice, Guidance & Support team who work with the people accessing our food bank to help improve their longer term circumstances. Each year we support thousands of people in crisis in our community. As Fundraising Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring we can provide the resources required.
We have a small friendly and committed staff team working across two sites in Huddersfield, supported by more than 100 volunteers. We rely on the generosity of our community and partners to support our work.
Whilst we are advertising for a full time position - part time applications may be considered for experienced applicants.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Press and Campaigns Officer to raise the profile of Carers First, building our brand awareness and engagement levels to reach new carers. The successful candidate will also help to raise awareness of the issues affecting carers and be responsible for our press and media activity, helping us to secure national and local coverage.
You will work to increase the charity’s local presence improving visibility and helping to increase engagement with Carers First across all the areas in which we work, supporting with the development and delivery of our campaigns and projects.
To be successful you will require 1-2 years of experience in a public relations or communications position, ideally within the charity or public sectors, excellent IT skills including ability to use Microsoft Office suite, along with superb organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines and show attention to detail.
