Director of Fundraising & Engagement

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Director of Fundraising and Engagement who will work across the Trust to shape compelling campaigns, supporter and visitor journeys which mobilise the powerful potential which volunteering and community organising offers to take action for wildlife and to create a nature positive future. 

You will have the hunger to tap into the significant fundraising potential and the confidence to cultivate and develop positive relationships with high-level contacts in companies, grant funders and among high-net-worth individuals. We are also looking for someone with an outstanding track record in securing major strategic grant funding and corporate partnerships and developing major donor programmes to ensure our programmes of work provide showcases of how nature can recover in Yorkshire.

You will be joining an established extended leadership team who have been working together for a number of years, diverse in thinking style and with deep commitment to our cause and the Trust’s success. You will also work closely with our Trustee Board, which is vibrant, engaged and supportive, and manage a large Directorate of currently 65 staff.

The Role
We are looking for a proactive, hands-on Digital Content & Communications Manager; a creative all-rounder who thrives on “doing,” not just talking strategy. You’ll have ownership of our digital content: crafting impactful videos, visuals, and copy for our social channels and websites, and creating engaging resources for marketing, learning and programme delivery. You’ll energise our digital platforms while continuously improving their effectiveness and reach.
This role is delivery-first: you’ll “own” the hands-on creation, scheduling, and optimisation of digital content. You’ll have input into what and when we share and will help shape digital plans, but the heart of the job is practical content production and sharing. Press and comms partnerships are supporting responsibilities, not the main focus.

Your Key Responsibilities
1. Digital Content Creation & Delivery (Primary)

• Design, produce, and post engaging multimedia assets (video, graphics, infographics, stories) for social media, and our websites.
• Amplify authentic stories, ideas, and perspectives from our beneficiaries to move and motivate audiences.

2. Social Media & Community Building

• Plan, schedule, post, and manage engagement on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X, as well as newsletters
• Grow and nurture audiences—especially among schools, judges, volunteers, educators, and young people.
• Monitor trends and adapt content for impact.

3. Learning & Programme Resource Design

• Work with colleagues to create compelling, accessible learning resources and marketing materials for schools, corporate partners, funders, and events.
• Design digital newsletters, reports, and campaign materials that support fundraising, stewardship, and participant development.

4. Marketing of Programmes

• Provide marketing support to the programmes team to help promote our programmes to schools and other charities primarily through developing marketing collateral and supporting outbound email campaigns

5. Website Management & Continuous Improvement

• Manage day-to-day website updates, keeping our sites fresh, welcoming, and easy to navigate.
• Seek out and implement small improvements that enhance user experience, accessibility, and recruitment effectiveness.

6. Press, Media & Profile

• Develop and deliver a practical approach to meeting regional press grant requirements (e.g. one piece per final); contribute occasional press releases if needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong track record in creating digital content, managing social media, and designing educational/promotional materials (charity, youth, or education sector experience a plus).

We are seeking a Funding Officer to join our passionate and friendly team in Northern Ireland.

This permanent position is part of our Southern Team, which covers the following Council areas: Ards and North Down, Mid Ulster, Newry Mourne and Down and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon. Led by a Funding Manager and supported by four other Funding Officers, you will be responsible for the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon areas while also working flexibly across the wider local team to help meet the demands of our funding programmes.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team delivering over £30m annually to support communities and create real impact across Northern Ireland

Based primarily in the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon areas, you will work from home and within local community settings. The role will also require travel to our Belfast office (around once every couple of weeks) as well as occasional visits to other parts of the Southern team area.

This is a varied and rewarding role and involves assessing funding applications across our programmes, managing grants and monitoring progress and building strong relationships with key stakeholders. Role Overview: Knowledge in grant-funding, capacity building, organisational support

We are seeking a proactive and collaborative Charity Support Officer to help deliver AWN’s mission. You will be the first point of contact for grassroots charities, supporting them to strengthen their organisations and improve their chances of securing grant funding by offering practical guidance, signposting, and building trusted relationships that help them grow in confidence and resilience. The role includes helping organisations strengthen governance and compliance, sharing information on grant-funding opportunities, and supporting them to identify challenges and develop practical solutions.
 
The non-profits you will support work across a wide range of areas for example: women, health and wellbeing, youth, homelessness and poverty, family services, sports, faith groups, crime and gangs, prisoners and ex-offenders, refugees and asylum seekers, drug addiction, older people and rehabilitation, and many more. 
 
Bringing a strong awareness of the barriers facing small charities particularly Muslim-led groups, will be key to helping them build long-term sustainability and impact. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the first point of contact for charities and community groups, managing a varied caseload and balancing priorities. 

• Carry out needs assessments to understand organisations strengths, challenges, and funding needs, and develop clear action plans. 

• Provide tailored support, including health checks on governance, compliance, finances, and funding readiness, offering recommendations and signposting to specialist services (e.g., Cranfield Trust, CVS, Charity Excellence etc). 

• Advise on funding opportunities, strategy, and application readiness, with referrals to bid-writing support where needed. 

• Deliver workshops, webinars, events, and one-to-one sessions to build skills, knowledge, and confidence of UK grassroots organisations.

Job purpose

To support Debt Advisers in their roles and ensure that the advice provided to overindebted Clients is accurate, effective and tailored to individuals’ circumstances. To support, and regularly audit delivery partner organisations, ensuring that they are prepared for external reviews of their service in line with their Grant Agreement.

Scope of role

The Debt Technical Supervisor is responsible for supporting Debt Advisers to ensure the delivery of accurate, effective, and tailored advice to over-indebted clients. This role involves conducting debt-advice interview observations, reviewing case files, and identifying training needs for advisers. The Debt Technical Supervisor provides real-time support and constructive feedback, helping advisers navigate complex cases and ensuring they have access to the necessary resources and information. Additionally, the role includes auditing delivery partner organisations to prepare them for external reviews and supporting them in meeting compliance and quality standards. The supervisor will collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to promote best practices, address risks, and contribute to the continuous professional development of advisers.

• Hold a valid Money and. Pension Service accredited qualification in debt advice

• Have achieved the MaPS competency requirements for a Technical Debt Supervisor (or be working towards these) and have experience of monitoring casework for quality.

About the role

For 50 years, Kidney Care UK has been at the forefront of supporting people with kidney disease. From our early days when we campaigned to introduce donor cards in the UK, we have worked hard to support and represent the interests of everyone affected by kidney disease.

We are looking for a passionate, talented Trusts and Foundations Manager to join our ambitious, successful Fundraising team that has been growing non-legacy income 34% year-on-year since 2021 as we approach our new 5 year fundraising strategy.

This role is responsible for managing and developing the charity’s portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, securing significant gifts and growing the long-term potential of this portfolio (target for this 12 months period is £378,000). There are no direct reports, however the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with Senior Management Teams, other departments and stakeholders to build and develop cases for support to help fund our much-needed work.

The successful candidate will utilise their expert writing skills to shape those cases for support into compelling, high-quality proposals and reports.

Building relationships with a wide range of audiences including funders is key. Inspiring them to support kidney patients across the UK and engage with the kidney community, enabling them to tell their stories and better communicate how larger trust grants can make a real difference for people with chronic kidney disease.

A dynamic, self-motivated, ambitious and pro-active fundraiser is required for this role, demonstrating enthusiasm for the projects and services we are seeking funds to support.

• Identify and manage a pipeline of high-value prospects and opportunities which have the potential to deliver five- and six-figure grants
• Work with colleagues across Kidney Care UK to develop and submit high-value and high-quality trust and foundation bids for a range of short, medium and long term projects
• Develop relationships with the Senior Management Team and other key stakeholders across the charity maximising every opportunity for cultivation and development
• Champion ways of working with the kidney community to enhance your fundraising approaches
• Plan and organise opportunities for funders to view Kidney Care UK’s work first-hand, ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed and met

Reporting 

• Compile comprehensive and compelling progress reports to feed back to grant makers in a timely fashion and incentivise continued support
• Alongside the Director of Finance prepare accurate budgets detailing spending of specific grants
• Draw down on any multi-year grants as outlined in our annual budget
• Provide briefing notes and income pipeline on donor activities and potential funding opportunities

Location	RMC operates four branches located in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall, and Dudley. The successful candidate will be based at the Birmingham site and will be required to travel to all branches as needed. This is an in-person, on-site role with no hybrid or remote work options available
Reporting To:	Immigration Department Manager

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to join the Refugee Migrant Centre as a Caseworker, authorised by the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA), formerly known as OISC. RMC is a well-established, award-winning regional charity, widely recognised for its impactful work with refugees and migrants.

For over 23 years, RMC has assisted thousands of refugees and migrants from 162 countries, helping to break down barriers to integration and enabling clients to become equal citizens. We provide a holistic range of services, from specialist legal advice to education and employment programs.

The successful candidate will join RMC’s Immigration department and play a key role in delivering free immigration advice and representation. This is an exciting time to join the team as RMC is expanding its infrastructure following significant growth in staff, activities, and turnover—rising from £776k to £2.8 million in the past five years.

RMC is regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) and is accredited to provide free immigration advice up to Level 3, covering cases from initial advice through to the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal.

Our immigration services focus on assisting migrants (including undocumented migrants), refugees, and asylum-seekers in navigating the UK’s complex immigration legal system. We help clients secure the right to remain in the UK for themselves and their families, with a particular emphasis on human rights claims, family and private life applications, family reunion, settlement, citizenship, and applications under the EU Settlement Scheme.

Purpose of the Role:

Main duties and responsibilities

All Caseworkers (Levels 1 and 2) will be required to carry out the tasks shown below:

Casework and client care:

· To provide one-to-one specialist advice in immigration and asylum area of law

· To provide thorough, professional, high quality and timely casework and advice

· To ensure accurate recording keeping and ensure all necessary and associated administrative tasks are completed

· To ensure case deadlines and key dates are recorded, monitored and actioned in a timely manner

· To conduct all casework and advice in compliance with all IAA regulatory requirements and the IAA code of standards

· To maintain confidentiality in all dealings with clients

Training and development:

· To keep up to date with changes in the law

· To attend training and share learning and good practice with other advisors

· To keep a record of your attendance on training courses

· To provide internal and/or external immigration training when required by management

Teamwork:

· To share casework knowledge and experience within the team

· To mentor, support and/or supervise colleagues on a lower level of IAA regulation

Projects and Engagement:

· To take responsibility for the day to day delivery of specific projects if requested by management

· To deliver presentations and represent RMC at meetings/events when required by management

· To maintain effective working relationships with partners and stakeholders

· To demonstrate a degree of flexibility and undertake tasks not specifically referred to above

Person Specification

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills- essential

· Accredited at IAA Level 1 or 2

· Experience in delivering advice and representation in the field of UK immigration and asylum

· Experience in working with clients with vulnerabilities and/or migrants, asylum-seekers, refugees

· Knowledge of most immigration areas, with a good understanding of at least one area such as the EUSS, asylum, human rights or family-based applications

· Commitment to working towards Level 2 accreditation (for IAA L1 advisors only)

· Ability to explain complex information to clients from different backgrounds

· A proven high standard of communication skills, including written, oral, presentational and inter-personal skills

· Ability to work independently

· Ability to manage and grow a caseload

· Ability to prioritise and to manage tight deadlines

· Teamwork and Flexibility

· Commitment to equality and diversity

Desirable

· Accredited to IAA Senior Caseworker

· Experience working in the Legal Aid sector

· Experience working in or with the not-for-profit sector

· Educated to degree level or equivalent

Flexibility

In order to deliver the stated aims of this post, a degree of flexibility is needed and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above. Such duties will fall within the scope of the job within the appropriate pay grade. The job description will therefore be subject to periodic review with the post holder to ensure it accurately reflects the duties that are being performed.
