About the role

In this role, you'll support and deliver fundraising activity across multiple income streams, with a particular focus on developing and growing income from legacies, corporate partnerships and trusts.

You'll build and manage relationships with prospective and existing supporters, develop high-quality applications and proposals, and contribute to effective supporter stewardship and engagement. You will play a key role in strengthening Victim Support's fundraising activity across the organisation, working collaboratively with colleagues and partners to maximise opportunities.

The role also involves supporting legacy fundraising activity, including responding to enquiries, stewarding pledgers and contributing to legacy marketing activity. Alongside this, you will support the development of corporate partnerships through prospect research, pitching, proposal writing and relationship building.

You'll ensure all activity is delivered in line with fundraising best practice, relevant legislation and organisational policies, while helping to embed a strong fundraising culture across Victim Support.

We're looking for someone who is proactive, organised and a strong communicator, with the confidence to build relationships and work both independently and as part of a team.

Purpose of the role

To deliver the Day One Casework bedside model to patients, or those closest to them, impacted by serious or multiple injuries which could result in life changing consequences, such as disability or death, within James Cook University Hospital, providing support on some of the wards (such as rehabilitation), on-site clinics and other settings (e.g. rehabilitation centres). 

Have a visible physical presence within the Trust, becoming embedded into clinical teams focussing on major trauma pathways, facilitating outpatient and in-person legal clinics.

Key Responsibilites

The post holder’s primary duties and responsibilities are as follows: 

• Work closely, and in partnership, with NHS clinical staff and relevant community and voluntary sector organisations, to address the needs of patients, and those closest to them, affected by serious and life-changing injury. 

• Operate a case management approach to individuals, assessing and identifying needs, putting support in place including signposting, making referrals and direct support. 

• Provide consistency in assessment of all patients and their loved ones, irrespective of injury cause, age, status, giving access to the earliest possible specialist legal advice which supports rehabilitation and NHS cost recovery. 

• Maintain detailed case records, including accurate records of activity and intervention, using Day One’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, capturing and storing data in line with Day One policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. 

• Contributing towards report writing through the writing case studies and narrative to support data collection. 

• Implement processes and procedures to collect patient and family feedback and contribute to ongoing monitoring and evaluation of Day One services through providing relevant information, case studies and reports. 

• Deliver awareness raising presentations to clinical colleagues and departments. 

• Organise and facilitate outpatient and in person legal clinic drop-in sessions. 

• Build awareness of the role and charity’s purpose through building strong and effective relationships across the regional major trauma network, ensuring those who need it have access to Day One support. 

• Work closely with local authority, statutory and voluntary organisations to provide patient and family support and advocacy. 

• Help establish other support mechanisms once a person is no longer within the hospital setting, supporting the patient discharge process in conjunction with leadership from NHS staff. 

• Identify and support the recruitment and supervision of Day One volunteers, where appropriate. 

• Work closely in partnership with our Peer Support Service, focussed on promoting awareness and uptake within the region. 

• Work closely with the wider team on performance, quality, safety and effectiveness of all services, ensuring appropriate safeguarding policies are followed. 

• Work closely with our Fundraising and Communications team, supporting national activity, as well as regional initiatives to raise awareness and fundraise. 

• Be prepared to travel across the region and, on occasion, to other sites and national meetings as required. 

• Willingness to undertake continuous development and training for the role, including mandatory Day One and NHS Trust specific training. 

• Participate in external clinical supervision and monthly caseworker reflective practice to sessions to effectively explore and uphold professional boundaries within a safe, structure and supportive environment.

To work closely with those impacted by serious and life-changing injury, taking referrals and carrying out initial assessments of need, expertly navigating, signposting and putting services in place in the immediate aftermath of major trauma, including talking about and facilitating timely access to legal support to aid rehabilitation.

To establish and develop relationships with key stakeholders to promote Day One and address the needs of those affected by serious and life-changing injury. 

To work as part of the wider Day One Service’s team and organisation, taking responsibility for own record keeping and data collection in line with regulatory requirements.

• Work collaboratively and positively across the charity, building close working relationships with colleagues to ensure knowledge and key information is shared and obtained so all enquiries received can be answered with accuracy, confidence and professionalism.
• Be responsible for processing and fulfilling supporter requests for fundraising materials such as, Money Boxes and Fundraising Packs so supporters receive the information requested in a timely manner in line with service level agreements.

To be considered you will need to have;

• Significant administration and data entry experience.
• Significant customer service experience in a multi-channel environment.
• Significant working experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Database.
• Demonstrable experience of effective communication at all levels across an organisation.
• Detailed understanding of Data Protection principles and legislation.

About the Project

Communities Prepared works with volunteers and communities across England to help them build the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. This includes supporting communities to plan for climate-related risks such as flooding, storms, heatwaves, and severe weather.

Despite the successes we have had through our programme to date, we are not currently reaching diverse enough audiences and too often there are people missing from the resilience sector. This needs to change. To address this we are now embarking on an exciting new UK-wide partnership programme funded through the National Lottery Community Fund’s Climate Action Fund over the next five years.

The programme responds to growing evidence that climate-related emergencies, including extreme heat, flooding, fire, cold and severe weather, disproportionately impact marginalised communities, while those same communities are often excluded from resilience planning and decision-making.

The programme brings together Equally Ours, Communities Prepared (part of Groundwork South), and the VCS Emergencies Partnership (VCSEP, part of the British Red Cross) to strengthen climate resilience by ensuring that communities experiencing discrimination and disadvantage are at the heart of climate preparedness, response, recovery and policy-making.

Through a rights-based and co-produced approach, the programme seeks to shift climate resilience policy and practice away from models that frame communities as “vulnerable”, and towards approaches grounded in agency, participation, equality and shared responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Project Officer, you will:

• Work with the project team to map stakeholders and co-develop a structured engagement plan to recruit and work with marginalised communities.
• Build a collaborative and trusting relationship with the partner organisations and other stakeholders for this project, ensuring this work meets their expectations and complements areas of the work programme led by others.
• Work with project participants and partners to co-design Communities Prepared material and delivery methods that are more accessible and relevant to diverse audiences.
• Lead on the delivery of resilience training and workshop sessions with diverse audiences, both in-person and online.
• Work with project participants and partners to co-design a train the trainer model that will enable diverse audiences to deliver resilience training within their own communities, amplifying reach and impact.
• Work with the core Communities Prepared team to adapt our offer with the long-term goal of the Programme reaching more diverse audiences, especially those seldom heard in this sector.

The role involves regular travel across the UK, with a focus on South West England during the project’s pilot phase.

We are looking for someone with:

• Experience in community engagement or community development.

The Role

A highly valued role in the Secretariat Team of the Oxford Diocesan Board of Finance (ODBF) has become available due to the portfolio growth of the existing postholder.

This is an important role which combines high quality General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) advice and collegiate support, policy and practice development and hands-on case management, such as undertaking Subject Access Requests (SARs).

You will directly support ODBF staff, including training and response to queries and proactive advice and support to area teams (bishops, archdeacons and their teams) and parishes. The role provides an excellent opportunity for varied work, especially for someone who enjoys the full breadth and depth of data protection work.

Although there is no direct line management responsibility, the role requires working well in a team, supporting others with confidence in your personal decision-making. What you’ll be doing:

· Contribute to the overall fundraising strategy as a member of the management team, leading the development and delivery of the community engagement fundraising strategy, including operational plans, budgets and income targets to grow and retain supporters.

· Lead and develop the Community Engagement team, setting priorities, managing performance of a high-performing team and providing support to ensure successful delivery of objectives.

· Oversee community fundraising, corporate partnerships and events programmes, building strong relationships with businesses, schools, community groups, volunteers and supporters to maximise income and engagement.

· Develop and deliver fundraising campaigns, events and initiatives that increase participation and revenue, using performance analysis and ROI assessment to drive continuous improvement.

· Work with Marketing and Communications to create engaging, multi-channel campaigns and fundraising materials that inspire support through compelling stories and content.

· Lead the delivery and optimisation of key fundraising events that have historically over-performed with a loyal supporter base.  

· Champion best practice in CRM use, enhancing supporter journeys, stewardship, retention, and campaign effectiveness through data-driven insights.

· Collaborate across departments to deliver integrated fundraising activities, maximise opportunities such as In-Memory giving, and ensure a consistent, high-quality supporter experience.

About you:

· Fundraising experience across at least two of the following areas: community fundraising, events or corporate partnerships.

· Experience leading and managing teams, supporting performance and development.

· Experience monitoring and reporting on income targets, KPIs, and organisational objectives.

· Proven ability to build, develop, and retain relationships with community groups, local businesses, individual fundraisers, and event participants.

· Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working effectively with colleagues, senior leaders, and volunteers.

· Experience developing and managing strategies, budgets, and operational plans.

· Successful track record of networking within local communities and leveraging social media to drive engagement.

· Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content that inspires supporter action.

· Proficient in CRM management, ensuring accurate data handling, GDPR compliance, and effective supporter stewardship.

· Collaborative approach, with a proven ability to work across teams to achieve shared goals.

About this key role

You will deliver targeted ETE interventions through one-to-one support, group work and co-working alongside FFT caseworkers, plus support young people to progress into and sustain education, training and employment outcomes. You will also provide specialist advice and consultation to FFT caseworkers to strengthen ETE delivery across their caseloads, while also co-working complex cases requiring specialist input while maintaining FFT case ownership and delivering structured group work within PRUs, Alternative Provision and community settings.

We will also count on you to support engagement with training providers, employers and education settings and to contribute to developing clear pathways into ETE opportunities. Supporting families where appropriate to improve stability linked to employment and training and contributing to service-wide planning, delivery and continuous improvement of ETE provision are also key elements of this key role.
