Events and Community Coordinator - Remote (UK based) – 0.8FTE

• Salary: £30,000 for 0.8 FTE (£37,500 FTE equivalent) + 5% pension + 25 days holiday
• Location: Remote (must be UK-based), with occasional travel for events

The Engineers and Scientists in Business Fellowship (ESBF) is a UK charity with a clear mission: to champion the impact of business education for engineers and scientists. 

Through our flagship Sainsbury Management Fellows programme, we award £50,000 MBA scholarships to outstanding individuals, supporting them to study at leading global business schools. Our Fellows go on to lead organisations, build companies, and drive innovation across sectors. 

We also support entrepreneurship across more than 50 UK universities by sponsoring enterprise competitions for engineering and science students, helping them develop entrepreneurial skills early and turn ideas into ventures with real-world potential.

The Role

This is a role for someone who enjoys making things happen and bringing people together. 

As our Events and Community Coordinator, you will deliver a high-quality events programme while building strong, lasting relationships across a network of 400+ Fellows. You will play a central role in shaping how our community connects, contributes, and grows. 

You will also lead on our CRM system, helping us use data more effectively to strengthen engagement and support alumni philanthropy. 

Working in a small, collaborative team, you will have real scope to shape the role, particularly as we build towards our 40th anniversary in 2027. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Plan and deliver a programme of high-quality events, including our flagship events and events with partner organisations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Fellows, supporting an active alumni community.
• Coordinate engagement initiatives, including networks and special interest groups.
• Manage and develop the CRM system to support engagement and fundraising.
• Contribute to the smooth running of the organisation as part of a small team. 

About You 

You are organised, proactive, and people-focused, with a natural ability to build relationships and keep multiple priorities moving. 

You will bring experience in events delivery and community or stakeholder engagement, along with strong communication skills and attention to detail. Experience managing CRM systems is important and previous experience in higher education, charity, fellowship or scholarship management would be a bonus.

We’re looking for an experienced, compassionate leader to oversee the day‑to‑day running of our national helpline services and co‑ordinate our Survivors Forums. This is a unique opportunity to shape a trauma‑informed, high‑quality support service for victims and survivors of rape and sexual abuse, as well as those who support them.

In this role, you’ll ensure our helplines remain safe, accessible, and responsive, providing steady leadership in a fast‑paced, emotionally complex environment. You’ll offer clinical supervision, guide a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, and champion best practice in safeguarding, risk management, and service quality.

You’ll also play a key part in strengthening survivor voices by supporting and co‑ordinating our Survivors Forums—helping shape the future of our organisation and the wider sector.

We are looking for a Networks Development Coordinator to support the development of our networks to create inclusive, dynamic and engaging communities at UCL. We currently have nine networks at UCL and the purpose of this role is to empower, train and support our students to host events, run campaigns and raise awareness. You will help broker new partnerships with charities and other student groups, facilitating our students to build communities and get the most out of their time at UCL. You will also take a leading role in coordinating history months and awareness days, working with our student communities. 

This role will also work closely with UCL's Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Team to oversee support and development of elected student EDI Reps who drive equality initiatives across the institution.

PETA Netherlands Membership Coordinator (part-time)

Position Objectives:

• To assist the international membership services manager in providing a high level of care to PETA’s members and supporters
• To coordinate responses to correspondence from members and supporters in Dutch and English, including phone calls, e-mails, and letters
• To provide PETA Netherlands with general administrative support

Reports To:

International Membership Services Manager

Location:

Hybrid in London or remote in mainland UK  

Term of Employment:

Part-time (24 hours per week), 12-month fixed-term (with hope to extend)

Salary:

£17,700 - £18,600 pro-rata (£29,500 - £31,000 full-time equivalent)

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Ensure that all member and supporter contact (letter, e-mail and phone) is handled in a timely, professional, and efficient manner that reflects the organisation’s positions and values, and that outgoing correspondence contains up-to-date information
• Handle incoming member and supporter phone calls
• Translate correspondence from English to Dutch and from Dutch to English
• Verify donor details and input relevant data into the membership database
• Maintain a stock of PETA literature and fulfil supporter requests for leaflets, stickers, and other materials, working with external agencies when necessary
• Process invoices, prepare cheque requests, and liaise with the PETA Foundation’s Finance Department
• Liaise with external agencies as necessary – and as directed by the international membership services manager – in order to resolve any supporter issues
• Open, sort, and distribute incoming post and faxes in a prompt manner, responding and forwarding mail to other agencies as appropriate
• Perform general administrative tasks to support PETA Netherlands
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

 

Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
• Proof of right to work in the UK
• Experience with Windows and Microsoft Outlook
• Knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA’s current campaigns
• Proficiency with computers
• Good proofreading skills
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
• Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
• Adherence to a vegan lifestyle strongly preferred

The role
As a Training and Events Coordinator, you’ll support the planning and delivery of a busy portfolio of online, hybrid, and in-person training courses and events. You’ll manage multiple activities at once, ensuring excellent standards of organisation, communication, and customer service.
You’ll work closely with delegates, trainers, speakers, and internal teams often at a senior level so confidence, attention to detail, and adaptability are key.
 
Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of training courses (predominantly online)
• Support the operational delivery of events and conferences
• Manage bookings, databases, inboxes, and event systems accurately
• Set up and support online events, including live troubleshooting
• Liaise with venues, facilities, and IT teams for in-person and hybrid events

 
About you
You’ll have experience in events coordination, training administration, or a similar role, alongside:

• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Excellent attention to detail and customer service
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and online event platforms
• A proactive, collaborative approach and willingness to learn
