FTWW is looking for a full-time Volunteer and Community Coordinator! The successful candidate will strengthen community activity by engaging with external stakeholders and members of the public, increasing our reach and volunteer numbers. They will ensure that volunteers are supported and equipped to participate in a wide range of activities, both in-person and online.

We support flexible and hybrid working arrangements and are happy to discuss what this could look like.
About Dr Jenner’s House
Dr Jenner’s House, The Chantry, is a site of profound global historical significance, recognized as the birthplace of vaccination. It was here that Edward Jenner, a country doctor and enlightenment figure, conducted his groundbreaking work in the 1790s, leading to the world's first vaccine and a medical breakthrough that forever changed humanity.
The Jenner Trust, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (registered charity number 1158316), is dedicated to preserving this unique heritage. We operate the museum, provide educational facilities exploring the history and impact of vaccination, and manage a one-acre site encompassing two Grade II* listed structures (The Chantry and Temple of Vaccinia), along with the Cyder House, which serves as our offices and conference centre. We welcome over 4,000 visitors annually and host a variety of school visits, events, and conferences. We are a small team of staff supported by a passionate volunteer team who care for the site and welcome our guests.
This is an exceptionally exciting period for our organisation. We have recently been honoured as a "2024 Place of Science" by the Royal Society, our UNESCO World Heritage Status bid is progressing, and we are delighted to have been successful in obtaining a substantial grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to expand our team and initiate crucial restoration work on the site. With a new Chairman, a strong team of Trustees, a newly appointed Museum Director and Duty Manager, and a growing base of dedicated volunteers, we are poised for significant growth and impact.

ShareAction is an independent charity and an expert on responsible investment. We work to build a world where the financial system serves our planet and its people. We set ambitious standards for how financial institutions, through their investment decisions, can protect our planet and its people and campaign for this approach to become the norm. We convene shareholders to collectively push companies to tackle the climate crisis, protect nature, improve workers’ rights and shape healthier societies. In the UK and EU, we advocate for financial regulation that has society’s best interests at its core.
What you’ll do
ShareAction’s Banking Standards team works towards holding financial institutions accountable for their impact on climate change. We have a history of campaigning on key aspects of banks’ climate strategies – such as their emission reduction targets or fossil fuel policies – and we are gradually expanding our work to include other sustainability themes and banking regulation. We have achieved significant wins, such as contributing to HSBC becoming the world’s largest bank to cease financing for new oil and gas fields, Barclays dramatically reducing its oil sands financing, and mobilising investors to call on Societe Generale to set a renewable energy target.
The team is structured around two main pillars: our campaigning and our research pillar. The research pillar ensures that the team’s campaigning and advocacy work is based on sound analysis and facts. The Senior Research Manager oversees the research pillar, currently composed of three more junior researchers. The Senior Research Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a research strategy that underpins campaign needs for analysis and insight in line with campaign timelines and available resources. You will oversee and contribute to the delivery of high-quality research outputs, including thematic reports, investor briefings, and surveys of Europe’s largest banks, and ensure that they are underpinned by clear and robust research methodologies. Alongside the Head of Banking Programme and the Senior Campaign Manager, you’ll act as an ambassador for the team in external forums, the media, and when meeting with and presenting to external stakeholders, including banks, civil society organisations, and investors.
If this role sounds like something that would build on your current skill set and engage you, we’d love to hear from you!
What you’ll bring to the team
To be successful, you will:
- Have a good understanding of how banks work and how they can help address climate change, developed through experience working in or with banks.
- Be a strategic thinker.
- Have excellent project management and organisational skills, with a proven ability to autonomously manage research projects, allocate tasks, and handle multiple competing priorities to meet deadlines.
- Have extensive experience carrying out research and an ability to summarise complex issues and datasets for others in a clear and concise way.
- Have advanced Excel skills.
- Have experience managing a team of research professionals and/or providing direct line management support.
- Have a proven ability to handle relationships with multiple external stakeholders in the private and public sectors.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to flex your style according to your audience.
- Be a collaborative team player who is comfortable receiving feedback and ideas from more junior staff, seeks opportunities to support colleagues and is willing to support other areas of work as needed.
- Be passionate about the issues ShareAction advocates for and be comfortable working in a campaigning environment.
It would also be great – but not essential – if you meet the following criteria:
- Experience in conducting surveys and/or carrying out qualitative or quantitative research on financial institutions.
- A good understanding of responsible investment.
- Experience integrating innovative tools and approaches into research processes, such as AI tools.
- Subject matter knowledge in climate change, biodiversity and/or human rights.
- Experience using the Salesforce CRM system and/or Cascade and/or Eikon.
We have a formal hybrid working policy in place, and the Banking team meets in the office every Tuesday for a team meeting and team lunch. We also aim to organise additional team-specific meetings on those days. We expect candidates who live in London to come to the office every Tuesday and those who live outside London to come to the office two Tuesdays a month.
What we will do for you
We are a fast-paced organisation that has grown substantially over the past few years. We recognise that our people work hard to advocate for responsible investment and drive meaningful engagement with those who have the power to create a brighter future. Every day, they bring their expertise, passion and persistence to build a world where the financial system serves our people and planet. Lumos is an international children’s charity founded in 2005 to end the harmful practice of institutionalisation of children. Lumos’s mission is to fight for every child’s right to a family by transforming care systems around the world. Our vision is for all children to grow up in safe and loving families.
Despite clear evidence of the harms of institutionalisation, an estimated 5.4 million children worldwide continue to live in institutions. Separated from their families and communities, these children are deprived of the love, attention and opportunities they need to thrive. Our three-pronged approach is to prevent family separation, to protect children and to promote care reform. We’ve made important progress in closing harmful institutions and reuniting children with their families. And where children are unable to live with their birth families, we promote alternative family-based care, such as kinship care and quality foster care. Thanks to our tireless efforts alongside many other champions of care reform, the harms of institutionalisation are now more widely understood. A global movement is underway and the UN, the EU and some large development agencies have joined individual countries in pledging to change how they care for vulnerable children. We are committed to ensuring that global policy commitments are translated into local action, leading to sustainable change for vulnerable children.

War Child’s mission is to reach, protect, educate, and stand up for the rights of every child living in conflict zones. They want a world that is safer for children to live in. Very sadly, at the moment, 1 in 5 children are living in or fleeing from conflict – that number is too high, and War Child wants to change it.
War Child is looking for an experienced fundraising leader to step into a key senior leadership role during a year of real momentum.
As Interim Director of Philanthropy and Partner Engagement, you’ll lead a high-performing team of around 15, covering major donors, principal giving, trusts and foundations, institutional funding, corporate partnerships, and gaming. - Support and strengthen the corporate partnerships function, working closely with the Head of Partnerships to refine strategy and unlock potential
- Guide the development of the principal gifts function, with a new senior hire expected before the handover
- Shape next steps for gaming and digital partnerships, following an external review
- Take a strategic view of events-based philanthropy, identifying opportunities to evolve and diversify
Ideal skills and experience:
- Significant experience in corporate partnerships, with the ability to develop strategy, support senior fundraisers and identify long-term opportunities
- Strong knowledge of high-value fundraising, including major donors, principal giving and events-led philanthropy
- Experience leading managers and senior fundraisers across multiple income streams, ideally within a similarly sized or complex organisation
- A strategic mindset, with hands-on involvement in planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting
- A collaborative, emotionally intelligent leadership style that combines high challenge with high support
- The ability to influence across teams and departments; experience in international development is helpful but not essential
- The confidence to represent War Child with major donors, partners, and senior stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Willingness to take ownership of compliance areas, including GDPR, gambling regulation and trademark risk, with support from internal specialists
Benefits include:
- Flexible working – War Child recognise the considerable benefits that flexible working can bring and are happy to discuss any possible flexible working options with employees from hiring. For most roles, the following types of flexibility are usually possible: flexible hours, an element of working from home, compressed hours.
- Annual leave – 28 days per year (full-time), plus UK bank holidays
- Pension – all eligible employees automatically enrolled into a Group Personal Pension Plan with a 5% employer contribution, with minimum employee contribution on a salary sacrifice basis
