About the Role
Working as part of the Transitions Project, you will provide specialist, person-centred benefits advice to people in their own homes and community settings across West Devon and Torridge.
Many of the people we support experience barriers that make it difficult for them to access mainstream advice services, including poor physical or mental health, disability, rural isolation, digital exclusion, low confidence and complex personal circumstances. You will take advice directly to clients, providing the time, flexibility and practical support they need to understand and access their benefit entitlements.
You will complete comprehensive benefit checks, support clients to make and manage claims, identify opportunities to maximise household income and help resolve benefit-related problems. This may include supporting clients with challenging decisions, mandatory reconsiderations and appeals, as well as liaising and advocating with the DWP, local authorities and other agencies.
The role involves regular lone working and travel to clients' homes, so you will need to be confident working independently while remaining closely connected to the wider Transitions team.

We're looking for an exceptional bid writer and funding specialist to help bring ambitious ideas to life across North Wales.
This isn't a typical fundraising role. As our Business Development Officer, you'll be at the heart of turning ideas into reality. Working with passionate colleagues across a wide range of environmental, heritage and community projects, you'll identify funding opportunities, develop compelling bids and secure the investment needed to deliver meaningful impact across the region.
We're looking for someone who loves the challenge of crafting persuasive funding applications, building relationships with funders and spotting opportunities that others might miss. You'll combine strong research skills, attention to detail and excellent writing ability to help secure grants, trusts and tender opportunities that support our mission for People, Places and Planet.

We are a small social enterprise (and subsidiary of East London NHS Foundation Trust) that helps communities thrive by bringing people, organisations and opportunities together, from earlier access to support, to employment and skills, to partnerships that make a real difference locally.
This NED role has a particular focus on strengthening our relationships with voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations.
