Activities support volunteer volunteer jobs
As Innovation Strategy Manager you will lead in helping Battersea learn, experiment and develop new solutions to drive forward our strategic priorities, keeping us relevant, future-focused and generating ever greater impact.
All work is delivered through creativity, collaboration within and outside of Battersea and a deep understanding of our target audiences, balancing ambition and pragmatism.
Why the role exists:
This is a rare opportunity to lead in helping Battersea learn, experiment and develop new solutions to positively impact the lives of cats, dogs, and their owners for years to come. You’ll bring strong strategic thinking, innovation expertise, service design, and leadership skills to an environment focused on meaningful social impact, working alongside a team of smart, compassionate, and experienced colleagues.
This role focuses on broad, organisation-wide innovation - spanning our services, operations, supporter offering, and income generation - with a clear focus on delivering outcomes for animals and the people who care for them. It is not a specialist digital or fundraising role; instead, it centres on identifying the right problems and shaping effective responses. While some initiatives will involve digital elements (and an understanding of this is useful), delivery is carried out by specialist teams both in-house and externally.
Success in this role means identifying high-impact opportunities, aligning stakeholders around them, and ensuring they are taken forward effectively - supporting pilots and implementation where appropriate.
What we can offer you:
In return for your commitment to our cause and to recognise the value of our employees, Battersea offers a range of benefits to support the wellbeing of our employees. These include:
- 28 days of annual leave (plus 8 days paid public holidays) per year.
- Discounted gym memberships and cycle to work schemes.
- Employee Assistance Programme and access to Wellbeing Resources.
- Generous pension contributions - up to 10% employer contribution.
- Free healthcare cash plan, where you can claim for a range of treatment including dental, optical, physiotherapy, chiropody and acupuncture every year.
- Annual interest-free season ticket loans.
We are also committed to providing learning and development to our employees. During your time with us, we provide support for your professional and career development, including access to digital and in-person training programmes, leadership and management training, mentoring and much more.
Our hybrid working model:
We operate a 50% onsite hybrid working model, with our office-based staff splitting their time between site based and home working. This enables our office-based staff to balance the benefits of home working with onsite collaboration and maintaining a connection to our cause.
Diversity and inclusion:
We are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive experience for all staff, volunteers and trustees and those hoping to join us. We operate an anonymised shortlisting process and actively seek to ensure our process is fair and equitable for all.
We understand the value of diverse voices, perspectives, and experiences to help us deliver even more for our dogs and cats, and we welcome applicants from all sections of the community.
As a Disability Confident Committed Employer we will ask about any adjustments you may need at application and/or interview stage, and if you are offered a role with us, we’ll talk to you about any workplace adjustments you may need to help you perform at your best. Greyscale copies of the recruitment pack are also available on request.
More about us:
At Battersea, we aim to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help. We give each one lots of love, expert care and get to know their characters and quirks so we can find them a new home that’s just right for them. Join us and help us be here for every dog and cat, wherever they are, for as long as they need us.
Acceptable use of AI:
At Battersea, we value expertise. We recognise each candidate that applies to us will have a range of expertise they can offer us, so we want to hear about this in your own words. We understand the support that generative artificial intelligence (AI) software can offer but it can also lead to numerous applications presenting as generic and impersonal. This makes it difficult to gain understanding of your unique experience.
To best showcase yourself, we encourage you to write your responses without the assistance of AI. If you require the use of AI software to aid in completing your application, we ask you use the generative responses as a prompt for writing your answers and avoid copying and pasting. You must also ensure the information presented in your application accurately reflects your experience.
Closing date: 22nd August 2026
All applications must be submitted before the closing date advertised. We reserve the right to close the vacancy early if a high volume of applications is received.
Interview date(s):
First Round (online): 30th September & 1st October 2026
Second Round (in-person): To be confirmed

Rehoming Centre Manager
Beagle Welfare is looking for an experienced, compassionate and highly organised Rehoming Centre Manager to lead the daily operation of our Rehoming Centre, based in Burton-on-Trent.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a visible difference to the lives of beagles, adopters, volunteers and colleagues by creating a centre where excellent welfare, effective rehabilitation and successful rehoming are at the heart of everything we do.
As the lead on site, you will manage and develop staff and volunteers, oversee safe and efficient centre operations, and help ensure every beagle in our care receives the right support to progress towards a happy, secure future. You will also represent Beagle Welfare externally and contribute to the continued development of our rehoming work across the UK.
About the role
You will be responsible for the leadership, performance and smooth running of the Rehoming Centre, including staff and volunteer management, health and safety, site maintenance and the implementation of operational procedures. With rehoming at the centre of your decision-making, you will use data, strong people leadership and sound operational judgement to help improve outcomes for beagles and the people who care for and adopt them.
Key responsibilities
· Lead, motivate and develop a committed team of staff and volunteers, creating a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture.
· Oversee day-to-day centre operations, ensuring high standards of dog welfare, customer service, health and safety, security and compliance.
· Drive rehoming activity by supporting case progression, promoting beagles effectively and helping minimise the time beagles spend in our care.
· Manage resources, reporting and administrative processes accurately and responsibly.
· Build productive relationships with adopters, visitors, animal welfare organisations, and community partners.
· Use data, feedback and quality assurance processes to identify improvements and support consistent application of procedures.
About you
We are looking for a confident manager with experience leading diverse teams, delivering against targets and managing a varied operational workload. You will be comfortable working around dogs, including beagles with different welfare and behavioural needs, and able to balance compassion with practical decision-making. Strong communication, organisation, collaboration and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is experience in supporting continuous improvement.
You will also need a UK manual driving licence and be comfortable driving our van. Experience in a kennel or animal welfare environment would be advantageous, but above all you will share Beagle Welfare’s commitment to improving the lives of beagles and supporting the people who care for them.
Working pattern and location
This role is based at the Rehoming Centre and offers employment that includes employer provided accommodation (3-bedroom cottage) as part of the compensation package.
The centre operates between 08:30 and 17:00 every day of the year, so weekend and bank holiday working will be required on a rota basis.
Why join Beagle Welfare?
You will join an organisation driven by purpose, teamwork and a shared commitment to dog welfare. This is a hands-on leadership role where your decisions, energy and care will directly support better outcomes for beagles, adopters, volunteers and colleagues.

Join Our Team and Help Transform Lives!
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Benefits Adviser to join our Transitions team, providing personalised benefits advice and support to people in their own homes and communities across West Devon and Torridge. You will help people understand and access the benefits they are entitled to, maximise their household income and navigate what can often be complex and challenging benefit processes. Many of the people we support face barriers to accessing mainstream services, so the ability to build trust, listen and provide patient, practical support is at the heart of this role.
We are looking for someone with strong communication and interpersonal skills, a person-centred approach and a genuine commitment to supporting people experiencing vulnerability or financial hardship. Previous benefits advice experience would be an advantage, but we also welcome applications from people with transferable skills and the right values and aptitude to develop in the role. Full training, support and opportunities for professional development will be provided
About the Role
Working as part of the Transitions Project, you will provide specialist, person-centred benefits advice to people in their own homes and community settings across West Devon and Torridge.
Many of the people we support experience barriers that make it difficult for them to access mainstream advice services, including poor physical or mental health, disability, rural isolation, digital exclusion, low confidence and complex personal circumstances. You will take advice directly to clients, providing the time, flexibility and practical support they need to understand and access their benefit entitlements.
You will complete comprehensive benefit checks, support clients to make and manage claims, identify opportunities to maximise household income and help resolve benefit-related problems. This may include supporting clients with challenging decisions, mandatory reconsiderations and appeals, as well as liaising and advocating with the DWP, local authorities and other agencies.
The role involves regular lone working and travel to clients' homes, so you will need to be confident working independently while remaining closely connected to the wider Transitions team.
This is a rewarding role with the opportunity to make a tangible difference to the financial stability and wellbeing of people who may otherwise struggle to access the support they need.
Our vision is to eliminate social isolation and financial hardship.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

We're at an exciting stage in our development. Over recent years our fundraising income has grown significantly, but we're now looking to broaden and strengthen our funding base so we can increase our impact.
This new role offers the opportunity to become Worldwide Radiology's dedicated fundraising lead, helping shape the next stage of the organisation's growth.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious fundraiser ready to take the next step in their career and take ownership of fundraising within a growing charity.
As Worldwide Radiology's dedicated fundraising professional, you will lead our day-to-day fundraising activity across community fundraising, individual giving and trusts and foundations. You'll also support the CEO and Programmes Lead in developing larger strategic partnerships with major funders and corporate partners through research, proposal coordination and pipeline management.
Unlike many early-career fundraising roles, this position offers genuine ownership from early on. You'll lead fundraising across your portfolio while working closely with colleagues who have experience securing grants and developing partnerships, giving you the support and mentoring to develop your skills and confidence.
While we expect to appoint a Fundraising Manager on a part-time basis, we also recognise that an experienced fundraising consultant may bring a different but equally valuable skillset. We're therefore open to considering either model, provided the successful candidate can take ownership of our fundraising programme and help build the systems, relationships and pipeline needed to support Worldwide Radiology's long-term growth.

During your first 12–18 months you will:
- Lead successful delivery of WWR's community fundraising programme, including the Big Give Christmas Challenge and other supporter campaigns.
- Develop and manage a healthy pipeline of trust and foundation applications.
- Build strong relationships with our existing donors and funders.
- Help diversify the organisation's income by developing new fundraising opportunities.
- Introduce systems and processes that strengthen fundraising as the organisation continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising (Lead)
You will take ownership of WWR's fundraising activity across your portfolio, working closely with the CEO while leading delivery day-to-day. Responsibilities include:
- Leading delivery of fundraising across community fundraising, individual giving and smaller trusts and foundations.
- Researching, writing and submitting grant applications to trusts and foundations.
- Managing relationships with existing trust funders and individual donors, including stewardship and reporting.
- Planning and delivering community fundraising campaigns, supporter events and online fundraising activities, including the Big Give Christmas Challenge and JustGiving campaigns.
- Developing opportunities to grow our supporter base and increase donor retention.
- Maintaining accurate fundraising records, donor data and reporting.
- Monitoring fundraising activity and providing regular updates to the CEO.
- Supporting the development of fundraising plans and identifying new income opportunities.
Partnerships (Support)
Working alongside the CEO and Programmes Lead, you will:
- Research prospective major trusts, foundations and corporate partners.
- Prepare briefing papers and background research ahead of meetings.
- Coordinate development of larger funding proposals by gathering information, managing timelines and tracking actions.
- Maintain the strategic funding pipeline and prospect tracker.
- Support follow-up from meetings, conferences and partnership discussions.
- Help identify opportunities to strengthen relationships with healthcare organisations, companies and strategic partners.
Person Specification
We recognise that no candidate will meet every criterion. If you can demonstrate most of the following, we'd love to hear from you:
- Experience in a fundraising, development or partnerships role within the charity sector.
- Experience researching and writing, or supporting the development of, funding applications to trusts and foundations.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write compelling funding applications and supporter communications.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, with experience working positively with supporters, volunteers, partners or external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage information across multiple projects and deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a digital, remote environment and confident learning new systems, including fundraising CRM platforms.
- Enthusiasm for Worldwide Radiology's mission and the role of global health partnerships.
Desirable attributes:
- Experience delivering community fundraising campaigns or challenge events.
- Experience using fundraising CRMs or donor databases.
- Experience of the Big Give Christmas Challenge or similar match-funding campaigns.
- Experience supporting corporate partnerships or major donor fundraising.
- An interest in global health, healthcare or international development.
Why Join Worldwide Radiology?
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of fundraising within a growing international charity at an early stage in your career.
You'll have the chance to lead fundraising campaigns, develop relationships with donors and funders, and shape how fundraising grows over the coming years. At the same time, you'll benefit from the guidance and support of experienced colleagues, giving you the opportunity to develop your skills while making a tangible contribution to improving access to diagnostic imaging around the world.
We're committed to supporting your professional development through mentoring, networking opportunities and relevant fundraising training, helping you build the skills and experience to progress your fundraising career.
We offer:
- Flexible remote working.
- A collaborative, supportive team with minimal hierarchy.
- Opportunities for professional development and responsibility.
- Up to 4% matched pension contribution.
- 25 days Annual leave plus 8 public holidays (pro rata).
Please submit your CV and a cover letter (no longer than 2 pages) explaining how you meet the criteria for the role by 11pm on Sunday 13th September 2026. Interviews will take place W/C 21st September, in the office for local applicants otherwise it will be a remote interview.
