Communications Officer, Campaigns

 

The Communications Department inspires, informs and engages the public by showcasing Alzheimer's Research UK’s mission, impact and scientific progress across all channels. We lead the charity’s media and strategic communications activity, ensuring clear, accurate and compelling storytelling that supports research, fundraising and organisational priorities.

The Campaigns Communications Officer plays an important role in delivering communications activity that supports ARUK’s strategic priorities, major campaigns and organisational narrative. The postholder develops engaging content, coordinates communications activity across channels and supports high-profile projects that enhance ARUK’s reputation and influence. Through clear, audience-focused communications, the role helps ensure that complex issues, research developments and organisational priorities are communicated consistently and effectively.

Working closely with colleagues across Communications, Brand, and Fundraising and Marketing, this role helps deliver integrated communications activities that align with our campaign positioning and messaging.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Delivery & Production

· Support the development and delivery of communications activity for major organisational campaigns and strategic projects, such as Brain Health, the Dementia Attitudes Monitor and other priority initiatives.

· Draft and edit content across multiple channels, including campaign materials, briefings, newsletters, website content, presentations and stakeholder communications.

· Assist in the development of communications plans and campaign assets that support organisational priorities and audience engagement objectives.

· Produce clear, accurate and engaging content that reflects ARUK’s organisational narrative and key messages.

 

Research & Information Support

· Gather and synthesise information from colleagues, partners and subject-matter experts to ensure communications are accurate, evidence-based and audience appropriate.

· Monitor external developments, public attitudes and sector trends to identify opportunities to strengthen campaign and communications activity.

· Support the development of messaging, Q&As and supporting materials for our communications projects and campaigns.

· Build knowledge of dementia research, the wider health and science media environment, and relevant sector developments to support accurate and impactful communications activity.

Cross‑Team Support & Collaboration

· Work collaboratively with colleagues across Communications, Corporate Partnerships, Brand, Strategic Marketing, and Fundraising and Marketing to support integrated communications activity.

· Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand communications needs and ensure messaging is aligned across teams.

· Support cross-functional planning for major organisational moments and campaigns.

 

 

Administration, Planning & Coordination

· Coordinate communications activity for strategic projects and campaigns, helping manage timelines, track progress and ensure delivery against agreed plans.

· Maintain campaign documentation, communications materials and project assets so they are well-organised and accessible.

· Contribute to editorial calendars, campaign planning processes and shared communications workflows.

· Support evaluation activity by gathering insights, tracking outputs and contributing to project reporting, reviews and recommendations for future communications activity.

 

Quality, Accuracy & Compliance

· Ensure all communications outputs are accurate, accessible and aligned with ARUK’s brand, editorial and communications standards.

· Apply sound judgement when handling sensitive topics and escalate issues appropriately.

· Support continuous improvement by sharing insights, identifying opportunities and contributing to the development of communications best practice.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

· Experience in communications, campaigns, marketing, corporate communications or a related role.

· Experience producing content and communications materials across multiple channels.

· Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.

· Experience supporting campaigns, projects or communications initiatives from planning through to delivery.

· Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging and audience-focused communications.

· Experience working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to deliver shared objectives.

· Understanding of communications planning, evaluation and performance measurement.

Ways of working:

As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

The Position

Role Description

Working under the café manager, the assistant manager is responsible for developing and growing the ministry of King’s Coffee House, assisting the management of the daily operations and volunteer teams.

The assistant manager shares responsibility for recruiting, training, and motivating the volunteer team to provide excellent customer service and represent HTL Church well to the community.

Job Specification

• Manage day-to-day operations of the coffee house, including opening and closing.
• Recruit and train volunteers in drinks/food preparation, proper use of coffee and catering equipment, and customer service.
• Where needed, create rotas and communicate with volunteers, including building a volunteer community.
• Ensure all Food Hygiene and Health and Safety procedures are followed in the café areas (including cleaning of equipment, café area, and checking bathrooms).
• Ensure all cash register transactions are accurate and that cash is securely handled and recorded.
• Assist the manager with product development including reviewing and revising menus and pricing.

The Ada Lovelace Institute (Ada) is looking to hire an Executive Assistant to provide dedicated support to our Director. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced EA to play a pivotal role in the smooth day-to-day running of Ada's Director's office, working at the heart of a small, mission-driven organisation dedicated to ensuring that data and AI work for people and society.

Between late November/ early December 2026 and July 2027, the Director will be on maternity leave. About you

You are an experienced Executive Assistant or Diary Administrator who thrives on keeping a busy office running smoothly, and who is energised by the prospect of supporting more than one senior leader through a period of change. You have:

• Significant experience providing executive support, including complex diary management and correspondence, to a senior leader or executive in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience acting as a first point of contact for senior leaders, managing external relationships with professionalism and discretion.

About the role:

No one should leave hospital with nowhere safe to go.

As Homeless Pathway Coordinator, you’ll be a consistent and trusted presence for patients experiencing homelessness, helping them navigate what can feel like an overwhelming mix of health, housing and support systems. You’ll spend time with patients on wards and in A&E, listening to what matters to them, understanding the barriers they face and making sure their voice remains at the heart of every decision.

Day to day, you’ll manage a caseload, complete assessments, develop clear discharge and support plans and make referrals to housing, healthcare, social care, mental health and substance use services. You’ll follow up actions, keep plans moving and advocate firmly when someone is at risk of being discharged without the right accommodation or support in place.

You’ll work closely with the Homeless Pathway Lead, hospital teams, Newham Council and SHP’s wider Health Team, bringing professionals together and helping everyone stay focused on the person behind the case. You’ll also build links with community services, identify gaps in existing pathways and share learning that helps the hospital respond more effectively to people experiencing homelessness.

This is a role where strong relationships can change the course of someone’s recovery. You’ll join an experienced and supportive team, with opportunities to deepen your knowledge of inclusion health, homelessness and psychologically informed practice through training, reflective practice and shared learning.

• You have experience supporting people experiencing homelessness, multiple disadvantage or significant barriers to accessing services.

Key Responsibilities

About The Role

The Communications & Digital Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in shaping Animal Equality UK’s public voice. They will ensure all outgoing content, both digital and print, aligns with our brand, values, and mission.

About the role:

A safe, well maintained room can be the foundation someone needs to begin rebuilding their life. As a Maintenance Operative, you’ll make sure our supported accommodation across London provides the safe, dignified and welcoming environment every client deserves.

This is a hands on, multi skilled maintenance role focused on minor repairs and property improvements rather than specialist or technically qualified trade work. Travelling between different services across London, you’ll complete jobs such as painting and decorating, repairing walls and fixtures, basic carpentry, minor plumbing, tiling and preparing empty rooms so they can be offered safely and quickly to someone who needs a home.

You’ll plan and manage a varied workload, respond to urgent health and safety concerns and identify problems before they become more serious. You’ll also inspect rooms and communal areas, record completed work clearly, arrange materials and flag any repairs that need to be passed to a qualified contractor. At times, you may check completed contractor work and provide feedback where standards have not been met.

Our accommodation is home to people who have experienced homelessness, mental ill health and other forms of multiple disadvantage. Some services are larger, hostel-style buildings, while others are smaller residential properties. You’ll often be working in occupied environments and may meet clients while completing repairs, so you’ll need to be comfortable working respectfully around people who may be distressed or experiencing a difficult time. You won’t be expected to provide support or manage challenging situations alone, and service colleagues will be available to help.

You’ll join a growing Maintenance Team that shares knowledge, works collaboratively and takes pride in getting the details right. With plenty of variety and autonomy, this is an opportunity to develop your practical skills while seeing the direct difference your work makes to the buildings we manage and the people who call them home.

The role:

We’re looking for someone who would like to join our team of Energy Caseworkers within our Warmer Homes Advice & Money (WHAM) project. You will work as part of a team of caseworkers supporting people living in fuel poverty, working closely with our partner organisations across Bristol, B&NES and North Somerset and drawing on their specialist advice to support householders.

You will be trained to give energy efficiency advice to householders, working mainly from our Bristol office and occasionally from our partners’ offices, undertaking outreach activities and home visits across the area. The role includes providing in-depth casework support, communicating with energy suppliers on behalf of clients, and maintaining accurate records of all interactions.

You will join as a Trainee Energy Caseworker for the first 5 months, becoming an Energy Caseworker on successful completion of probation. This is a fixed-term post for 12 months, with full training provided, including City & Guilds Energy Awareness training, and ongoing support from a casework mentor and supervisor.

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• Provide energy advice to clients by phone and email.
• Provide information to help clients access appropriate support.
• Engage with households who need help with their energy issues and provide in-depth casework support.
• Travel across Bristol, B&NES and North Somerset to give advice to people in their own homes, coordinate partner activity, and deliver events, talks and presentations.
• Communicate effectively with energy suppliers on behalf of clients, including investigating billing and metering issues, negotiating repayment plans and raising complaints.
