This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of the Associate Programme in the core team of On Purpose London, an international social enterprise dedicated to developing leaders for transformative change. The Programme and Recruitment Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the programme runs smoothly and that the participants, our Associates, have a great experience.
Person profile
We are seeking an organised self-starter who can bring great organisational skills to the recruitment of participants, and programme delivery of our well-known cohort-based learning programme. You will work closely with our current On Purpose Associates and the L+D Programme team to deliver an outstanding learning & development programme that supports our Associates to transition into critical roles in systemic change.

Our Associate Programme celebrated its fifteenth year in 2025. Running twice a year, the year-long programme works with a select group of high-potential career changers from a range of professional backgrounds, matching them to work with purpose-led organisations, and supporting them through inspiring learning and development.
About the role
The role of Programme and Recruitment Coordinator sits at the heart of delivering our flagship Associate Programme. You’ll accompany individuals through the journey from candidates to Associates, support their onboarding and matching to placements, hold the logistics for their regular afternoon training sessions and project manage key milestones in the Programme such as the residential.
This role will work with our London and international core team and current Associates. You will be managed by the Co-Lead of On Purpose London, Head of Programme & Organisational Development, and work closely with the Programme Delivery Manager and Co-Lead, Head of Business Development & Community on specific workstreams.
In this role, you will:
Ensure Associates have an excellent experience throughout their time at On Purpose
- Support the delivery of Associate training sessions, which requires being physically present every Friday afternoon in central London to coordinate the session logistics, acting as venue and trainer liaison.
- Lead on communications with Associates, including acting as the first point of contact on many areas of the Programme
- Lead on the logistics of a range of in-person and online events, including induction, residentials and end of year celebration events
- Support the Programme Delivery Manager in other aspects of Programme delivery, including maintaining a library of learning resources, weekly communication with Associates and other ad hoc tasks.
Manage the logistics of the recruitment selection process for the Associate Programme
- Manage queries from candidates during the recruitment process
- Project manage review of Associate programme applications using AI and human application scoring systems, and participate in application scoring alongside the wider team
- Coordinate interview slots and lead on communications with interviewees
- Coordinate interviewers, leading on recruiting and communicating with interviewers, and coordinate the logistics of interviewing days
- Coordinate process for giving feedback to unsuccessful candidates and issuing offers
Manage onboarding process for the Associate Programme
- Lead on end to end communications with new Associates from issuing offer letters through onboarding checks and providing timely information about starting the programme
- Provide administrative support for our placement matching process, coordinating with the Head of Business Development and Marketing & Communications Manager to prepare materials, and run logistics of the process.
- Manage internal processes for onboarding new Associates including set up on tech systems, gathering information to add people to payroll and confirming right to work, and liaising with placement organisation’s HR teams as needed.
Support the smooth running of the organisation administratively
- Provide administrative support around finance and HR, including processing and generating invoices, and on-boarding new team members
- Manage office-related activities including liaising with the landlords of our serviced offices, ordering supplies, managing post etc
- Manage the two general email mailboxes and respond to inquiries
- Onboard new Mentors, Coaches and Partners to our community and help keep our CRM system up to date
Support organisational improvement initiatives
- Support On Purpose’s impact management practice, including collecting and maintaining data and feedback
- Support On Purpose to develop our community, including sending communications to partners and supporting community events
- Support On Purpose to expand our outreach to placement organisations, e.g. by identifying and communicating with potential organisations.

Working arrangements
This is a 5 day/week permanent office based role. On Purpose currently operates a hybrid working model with two regular office days a week at our office in Euston (Tuesdays and Fridays). There is occasional evening working and travel required, both in the UK and to Paris.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Outreach, Wheelchair Skills and Wider Engagement
· Engage the widest possible range of people with spinal cord injury to sign up for further contact with Back Up, through organising and/or delivering wheelchair skills training sessions and talks for patients and families at the spinal cord injury centre in the region, general hospitals and with other key partners or locations as identified.
· Coordinate, support and manage volunteer trainers who are helping to deliver sessions and talking to patients and families.
· Lead, sustain and develop strong and effective working relationships with a wide range of health professionals and other charity representatives e.g. through presentations, calls and meetings, to ensure that people access seamless support.
Proactive Contact with People Affected by Spinal Cord Injury
· Maintain and support relationships with a large number of people affected by SCI (adults, children and young people and their parents) through regular proactive contact. This could be in person in the spinal cord injury centre, other settings or through events, telephone contact or other interactions.
· Explore their feelings, wishes and needs and provide tailored peer support to help them feel supported, access relevant services from Back Up and elsewhere through proactive referrals, and become more aware of the possibilities of life after SCI.
Networking, Partnerships and Sustainability
· Develop and maintain a map of touchpoints in the region, where people with an SCI will come into contact.
· Develop partnerships, referral routes and signposting processes to develop reach beyond the spinal cord injury centre.
· Develop and manage a network of community ambassador volunteers to support the wider work and sustainability of Back Up through fundraising and other related activities.
· Take a lead on encouraging localised fundraising activity; working towards wider income targets that support ongoing sustainability.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintaining accurate records on the database.
· Work as a team, consulting with others to ensure you give and receive high quality support.
· Keep Back Up informed of the issues affecting the people you are supporting and of developments at the spinal cord injury centre, general hospitals and other settings.
· Input into team planning and activities.
· Manage the budget relating to activities in your region.
· Help recruit new volunteers as needed to ensure a diverse team representing Back Up.
· Other duties as required by the Regional Outreach & Engagement Team Leader.

Croydon Health & Wellbeing Space (CHWS) is an exciting and dynamic service, run in partnership with Mind in Croydon and Croydon BME Forum and commissioned by South London and Maudsley Mental Health Service (SLaM). The CHWS opened in 2022 with the aim of providing advice, information, and specialist support to Croydon residents with mental health concerns, who drop-in, or have been referred to the via the local Integrated Care Network Plus multi-disciplinary clinical and community mental health support teams.
The Advice Workers will be part of a friendly team, including crisis workers and clinical mental health professionals and function as the first point of access for visitors to the CHWS. Following an initial conversation to ascertain the clients’ needs, the Advice Workers will provide information and advice, as well as signposting and referrals to specialist services, such as the Mental Health Personal Independence Co-ordinators, Social Prescribers and Community Link Workers, in addition to the wider voluntary and statutory services in the borough. Dad Matters focuses on the first 1001 days, supporting fathers and male carers to build strong bonds with their baby, alongside support for their mental health and access to services. It’s a role that combines direct work with dads and the practical coordination behind the scenes to keep the service running smoothly.
What you’ll be doing:
Building on the strong foundations of our current Dad Matters programme, you will work collaboratively with our existing Co-ordinator, with a focus on:
- Planning and delivering weekly peer support sessions for dads
- Supporting the development and delivering Dad’s antenatal sessions with local NHS services
- Recruiting, coordinating and supporting volunteers to contribute to the programme
- Helping dads develop their understanding of building strong parent-infant relationships
- Raising awareness of fathers’ mental health and suicide prevention, especially in the perinatal period
- Supporting the development of a Dad Matters volunteer programme
You’ll be working closely with an experienced colleague, sharing delivery while also taking a lead on planning, organisation, communication and the co-ordination of groups and activities.
This role would be ideal for somebody with experience of working with families or parents, and of planning and running activities, with a genuine passion for supporting fathers to build strong, positive relationships with their babies, look after their mental health and feel more confident in their role. Position: 000012 Stroke Support Coordinator

The Role
In this role, you’ll support stroke survivors and their families as they adjust to life after stroke. You’ll help identify their needs, provide personalised information, advice and support, and work with them to achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.
Reporting to the Stroke Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Support Coordinator will:
· Support stroke survivors and carers as they move from hospital discharge back into the community.
· Use a person-centred approach to help stroke survivors and carers set goals and access the right support.
· Provide clear, tailored information, advice and practical support.
· Encourage stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes that may reduce the risk of further strokes.
· Work closely with NHS colleagues and community partners to improve the lives of people affected by stroke.
About You
You will:
· Have a background in a caring and/or charity profession supporting people with disabilities.
· Be able to demonstrate previous experience of working collaboratively with other organisations to achieve joint ambitions.
· Have experience of working with people who may have additional communication support needs.
· Be proficient in using Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel and experience using IT systems to record and maintain beneficiary data.
This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.

We’re looking for someone with a passion for supporting student-led opportunities and volunteering, with a drive to empowering others and breaking down barriers to participation.
The Students’ Guild supports a wide range of student-led activities which provide exciting and rewarding opportunities for our members. This role supports the Activities Team to proactively support and empower student-led activities, as well as championing a diverse range of student-led interests that enable development, participation and belonging.

We are looking for a commited Christian to join our Recovery Coordination Team as an organised and proactive Admissions Coordinator. As the first point of contact for prospective residents, commissioners, families and referring agencies, you will play a vital role in ensuring that individuals receive a professional, welcoming and supportive experience from their first enquiry through to admission.

You should have experience in working with volunteers, understanding how to support and develop their skills. Previous delivery of training is essential, and if that experience has been gained in a peer-support or recovery setting, all the better. This role requires emotional intelligence; you’ll be working with people who have faced adversity, and your ability to support them within clear, professional boundaries is critical. Giving and receiving feedback, gathering data and other evidence to inform service development, and exercising reflective practice are all essential attributes.
You’ll also contribute to key projects that move SMART Recovery forward, adding your voice and insight to help shape what comes next. The role therefore requires project mangement skills as you will work on specific projects that develop our publications, training, communications and marketing. If you have a special interest and expertise in certain areas of our business such as social media and campaigns, training, volunteer management or copywriting we can develop this skill and interest as an enhancement to your role. Developing areas of expertise within our Co-ordinator team is something we are keen to do.

My Journey from Volunteer to Manager
When I moved to the UK in 2013, I joined the charity through a one-year European Voluntary Service placement, supporting vulnerable and homeless young people in a drop-in café. It didn't take long for me to connect with the organisation's mission and values, and I quickly realised that I wanted to build my career in an organisation dedicated to making a real difference.
They recognised not only my commitment but also my background in social work and passion for supporting others. At the end of my volunteering placement, I secured a role as a Nightstop Project Worker, where I spent four years delivering emergency accommodation services across 12 local authority areas and training volunteers who played a vital role in supporting young people in crisis.
One of the charity’s greatest strengths is its commitment to developing its people. Throughout my career, I was encouraged to expand my skills through leadership and management training, while being given the trust and autonomy to take on new challenges. This investment in my growth led to promotions first to Prevention Services Manager for the North East and Cumbria, and later to National Prevention Services Manager.
Today, I lead a dedicated team delivering family mediation, emergency accommodation, and housing advice services that help prevent youth homelessness across the country. My progression from volunteer to national service manager reflects the opportunities, support, and belief that the organisation invests in its people.

About the Organisation
In the 1980s, high unemployment and steep inflation was contributing to a shocking rise in youth homelessness across London. Thousands of young people were sleeping rough every night, with many areas notoriously dubbed “cardboard cities” due to the visible rise in street homelessness. Appalled by the scenes playing out across the capital, a group of people came together to tackle the challenge head on. Led by Cardinal Basil Hume and Mark McGreevy OBE, in 1989 the charity was born.
What began as a single housing project in North London soon expanded across London, Greater Manchester and the North East of England. Today, the charity provides accommodation, prevention and support services to thousands of marginalised young people across the UK each year.
