Hillside Clubhouse is a co-produced mental health employment support charity working across Islington. We support people with mental health conditions into training, volunteering, and employment opportunities. People can access our services via our Clubhouse, where they can share their skills and expertise with others and support the running of the charity. Alternatively, they can receive support out in the community from one of our Employment Specialists based within NHS mental health teams.
The Role:
We are recruiting for one IPS Employment Specialist role within our Islington IPS Service. This position will be based within the North London NHS Foundation Trust mental health services in the borough of Islington.
As an IPS Employment Specialist, you’ll play an important role in supporting people with lived mental health experience on their recovery journey by supporting them back into paid employment. This is an opportunity to offer ongoing support, to motivate and provide people with hope, while developing the tools and skills required to recover – ultimately transforming their lives.
A variety of skills are needed in this post including but not limited to: a strong ability to develop empathy and rapport with clients; a determined approach to seeking out job opportunities; a person centric-approach to working with people; strong communications skills to motivate clients; strong administrative capabilities and an attention to detail engage with prospective employers via business development and face-to-face meetings, as well as to be able to challenge some perceptions around mental health.
The postholder will be directly employed by Hillside Clubhouse but work under an Honorary Contract from the North London NHS Foundation Trust. The role is dynamic and involves being integrated in a clinical team, working within the community, and we operate a flexible working policy where working from home is also permitted up to two days per week.

The Shipwrecked Fishermen and Mariners’ Royal Benevolent Society – “The Shipwrecked Mariners” for short – was founded in 1839 and operates throughout the British Isles. Our primary purpose is to provide financial help to fishermen, merchant mariners and their dependants, both retired and of working age, who are in need. The Society has over 1,200 regular beneficiaries and receives over 600 applications for assistance each year.
To help us continue to provide a great service to mariners and their families, we have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us in the role of Grants Officer.
Our grants provide practical support for individuals and families that are experiencing severe financial distress and help them stabilise their situation during times of crisis. All our grants are means tested and exclusively focussed on those on low incomes (with little or no savings). A significant number of our grants are provided to those in retirement, however we also support those who are unable to work because of accident, illness, disability, or for compassionate reasons, as well as those who struggling to find employment. Our grants are used to cover a wide range of needs but are primarily aimed at helping people maintain a reasonable and dignified standard of living. We also help those who are struggling with debts as well as providing immediate support to the dependants of seafarers who have died at sea or during accidents ashore.
We are offering this role on a full-time basis, with a minimum of 2 days per week (Tues and Weds) working from our Chichester office, but potential for home working at other times. Some travel will be required for the role, including occasional overnight stays.

The British Academy – the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences – is seeking an ECR Network Regional Coordinator to join the Early Career Researcher (ECR) Network team within the Research Directorate. This is an exciting moment to help deliver the activities of the ECR Network, which has recently expanded nationwide, with membership currently at over 9,500.
The role
The ECRN Regional Coordinator is the main point of contact for three out of the nine regional clusters, which are London, Southeast and East of England. The role holder will oversee the day-to-day operational management and delivery of their regional areas. This will include managing the operational relationships with the regional delivery partners; organising and coordinating regional and network-wide events; managing network-wide funding opportunities; and supporting related initiatives such as the Leadership and Advancement programme.
In post, you will be the key liaison between the Academy and the delivery partners of each region. You will coordinate and be responsible for maintaining and improving operational practices and policies, working closely with early career researchers (ECRs), regional partners, Fellows and staff of the British Academy, and any other stakeholders.
This role plays a key role in supporting the successful operation of the British Academy Early Career Researcher Network. You will be an effective communicator, a team player who is able to collaborate with both external and internal stakeholders, be self-directed, and be happy to take initiative. Keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving, in terms of planning, prioritisation and demonstrating resilience when faced with adversity, is essential.
The role will require travel between your allocated clusters. This will be to attend events and meetings with delivery partners where appropriate, with an expectation to be in the London Office at least once a month.

The Vacancy
This is an exciting opportunity within the newly formed Centralised functions at NCB supporting the Project Support, Events or Business Support teams.
The post holders will support the organisation’s portfolio of projects and/or complex learning event delivery of online and in-person workshops and conferences for the team they are working in, working closely with peers to provide coherent, consistent support to delivery teams. They will ensure that projects and events are well managed and delivered in line with internal processes and systems whilst balancing business needs achieving contracted requirements and targets.
The post holders will act as peripatetic support across projects, events and the wider business to deliver business objectives, including the administration of contracting processes, event hosting and logistics and business support administration as necessary.
This will include oversight and management of people, tasks and activities according to business need, and supporting teams and directorates.
Knowledge of budget management, risk mitigation and financial acumen is necessary to ensure efficient and sustainable operations.
The post holders will also work closely together drive a culture of continuous improvement informed by systems and data to optimise processes, enhance customer experience and improve delivery performance over time.
