Director – Jamma Wellbeing
Build the model. Prove the impact. Scale through partners.
Jamma Wellbeing is looking for an exceptional Director to lead the organisation through its next stage of development.
This is an opportunity for an experienced, entrepreneurial leader to bring their judgement, experience and vision to work closely with a passionate Founder and Board to shape the future of an ambitious wellbeing charity.
Jamma Wellbeing exists to empower people so they can navigate life with greater confidence and choice. At the heart of our work is Brain Smart®, a practical wellbeing education framework that makes complex psychological ideas understandable and useful. Brain Smart is already being delivered through partnerships in prisons, schools, communities and workplaces.
We now want to build on that foundation.
The opportunity is to help build and deliver Jamma Wellbeing’s future model: delivering a sharper strategy, developing a strong operating model, building the right partnerships and creating a sustainable route to greater impact.
For the right person, this is much more than a conventional charity Director role. It is a chance to help build an organisation capable of changing how practical wellbeing education is delivered — taking useful, evidence-informed ideas to more people through trusted partners.
The role
The Director will lead Jamma Wellbeing from its current stage into a focused, sustainable and scalable organisation.
You will work closely with the Founder and team, while having real responsibility for translating ambition into delivery.
Key priorities will include:
- turning Jamma's strategy into a clear and executable plan;
- developing Brain Smart and its supporting infrastructure into a compelling, partner-ready proposition;
- building and leading high-quality partnerships across primarily education, public services, communities and other relevant sectors;
- establishing a sustainable income model, including licensing, partnerships, grants and public-sector opportunities;
- personally leading important early partner relationships and negotiations;
- building a small, capable team and network of specialist support;
- strengthening the systems required for safeguarding, quality assurance, accreditation, evaluation and reporting;
- creating clear measures of impact and using evidence to determine where Jamma should invest, adapt, expand or stop; and
- representing Jamma credibly with partners, funders, commissioners and other senior stakeholders.
Commercial responsibility is an important part of the role. We want to increase Jamma's reach and impact, but to do so in a way that is financially sustainable and protects the quality, integrity and safety of the programme.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a builder.
Someone who is energised by creating something that does not yet fully exist, who can see the big picture but is equally comfortable turning ideas into plans, decisions, partnerships and measurable results.
You are likely to bring:
- significant senior leadership experience in an organisation that has grown, transformed or developed a new operating model;
- a strong track record of turning strategy into delivery;
- experience developing significant partnerships and generating revenue;
- strong commercial judgement, including propositions, contracts, financial management and senior-level negotiation;
- experience building teams, systems or capabilities in an evolving organisation;
- confidence working with Boards and senior stakeholders;
- strong financial literacy and a disciplined approach to priorities, investment and performance; and
- a well-developed network across the UK, including relationships across the private, public and/or philanthropic sectors.
Experience in education, youth, health and wellbeing, charities, social enterprise or public-sector commissioning would be valuable, but we are equally interested in strong leaders from outside the traditional charity sector who are attracted by the opportunity to apply their experience to social impact.
Experience of licensing, accreditation, train-the-trainer or another partner-led scaling model would also be an advantage.
The kind of leader who will thrive here
You will be commercially astute but purpose-led; ambitious but pragmatic; collaborative but prepared to make decisions.
You will be comfortable working in an organisation where not everything is already established.
Most importantly, you will care about creating something useful and enduring — an organisation capable of improving wellbeing, particularly for young people, at meaningful scale without losing the simplicity, quality and humanity at the heart of its work.
About Jamma Wellbeing
Jamma Wellbeing is a registered charity with a simple vision:
A future where understanding and shaping your wellbeing is a basic life skill for everyone.
We work through trusted organisations and partners to bring practical wellbeing education to the people and communities they already serve.
Our emerging model is deliberately designed for scale: Jamma develops and improves the programme, materials, accreditation, safeguarding, quality and evaluation framework, while partners bring the audience, setting and trusted local delivery capability.
If you are excited by the opportunity to help shape an organisation, build a sustainable model and create meaningful impact at scale, we would like to hear from you.

What is The Multibank?
The Multibank is a clothes, bedding, baby, hygiene, toys and furniture bank all rolled into one.
Our idea is simple: businesses have surplus products that people need, while local charities and community organisations know the families who need them. The Multibank connects the two — getting essential products to people experiencing poverty, free at the point of delivery and with dignity at every step.
We were founded on the belief that businesses can help solve a social problem while addressing a business challenge. We take perfectly good products that businesses can no longer sell and put them to good use, helping alleviate some of the everyday challenges faced by families across the UK, while keeping products in use and contributing to a more sustainable economy.
While surplus is at the heart of our model, we also welcome product donations and use at-cost purchasing where needed to ensure we can provide the right products to meet demand.
We are a growing national charity, with an expanding network of Multibanks and an increasingly diverse group of business partners. As we grow, we're developing the supply partnerships, systems and processes needed to get more of the right products to more people.
What is the role and its impact?
We're looking for an experienced Supply & Partnerships Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day supply function at The Multibank.
You'll make sure products move efficiently from our supply partners through the Multibank network, while building strong relationships with suppliers and regional Multibanks and continually improving how we manage supply.
This is a hands-on role with significant responsibility. You'll manage the detail of stock offers, allocations and logistics, while also understanding the bigger picture and identifying opportunities to improve our systems, processes and supply base.
You'll work closely with the Director of Supply & Partnerships, taking ownership of operational supply and creating capacity for the Director to focus on strategic supply growth, senior partnerships and supporting the development of the wider Multibank network.
It's an opportunity to play a key role in helping The Multibank scale — ensuring we have the products, partnerships and systems needed to meet growing demand.
What you'll be working on
Supply operations
- You'll own the day-to-day movement of products from initial offer through to allocation and delivery.
- You'll act as the main operational contact for supply partners, providing a responsive and straightforward service.
- You'll coordinate product offers, allocations and deliveries across the Multibank network.
- You'll manage and triage the partnerships inbox, ensuring enquiries are responded to promptly.
- You'll work with Palletline and other logistics partners to coordinate the movement of products.
- You'll track stock movements and proactively identify and resolve issues.
Supply partnerships
- You'll build and maintain strong relationships with existing supply partners.
- You'll identify opportunities to increase the volume and range of support from existing partners.
- You'll prepare tailored partner updates and reports.
- You'll work with the Director of Supply & Partnerships on strategic partner relationships and new opportunities.
Supply development and insight
- You'll develop a strong understanding of product demand across the Multibank network.
- You'll identify gaps and opportunities across supply and demand.
- You'll support the development of new sources of surplus, donations and low-cost purchasing.
- You'll use data and insight to inform supply decisions and help us build a more diverse and resilient supply base.
Systems and improvement
- You'll own and improve the systems and processes used to manage supply.
- You'll identify operational bottlenecks and develop practical solutions.
- You'll improve visibility of supply, demand, allocations and stock movements.
- You'll lead or contribute to projects that enable the supply function to scale.
This job is for you if…
- You have experience in supply, operations, partnerships, account management or a similar role.
- You're comfortable managing multiple relationships, priorities and processes simultaneously.
- You're highly organised, with strong attention to detail.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You're confident building trusted relationships with corporate partners and internal stakeholders.
- You're proactive, solutions-focused and comfortable taking ownership.
- You're able to work independently and make decisions with limited day-to-day direction.
- You're confident working with data and using insight to inform decisions.
- You're comfortable working in a fast-paced or growing organisation where priorities and processes can evolve.
- You care about The Multibank's mission and the difference our work makes.
Experience of logistics, surplus redistribution, donations or working within the charity/social impact sector would be advantageous, but you don't need to come from a traditional logistics background. We're interested in transferable experience and people who can demonstrate strong organisation, relationship management, problem-solving and attention to detail.
A growing charity
The Multibank is a relatively young charity that has grown quickly, with an entrepreneurial and ambitious culture. We are now at an exciting stage of development, building our team and putting the structures, policies and processes in place to support our next phase of growth. Many of these are still in their infancy, which means there is plenty of opportunity to shape how we work. To be successful in this role, you'll need to be comfortable with some ambiguity, enjoy finding practical solutions and be excited by the opportunity to help build the systems and processes of a growing charity.
Why join The Multibank?
This is an exciting time to join The Multibank. We're growing our national network and developing the supply model needed to support that growth.
You'll have the opportunity to shape how we manage supply at scale, strengthen relationships with businesses and help build access to the right products for the communities we support.
You'll also have significant autonomy and the opportunity to make a tangible difference in a small, ambitious and rapidly growing charity.
How to apply
Alongside your CV, please provide a short covering statement addressing the following:
- What attracts you to The Multibank and this opportunity?
- Organisation and coordination: Tell us about a time when you have had to manage multiple moving parts or competing priorities to get something delivered.
- Relationships: Tell us about your experience building and managing relationships with customers, suppliers, partners or other stakeholders.
We expect significant interest in this role and may close the advert early if we receive a strong field of candidates.
Additional details
We believe in flexibility and trust. We’re happy to work with the successful candidate to find a working pattern that works for both them and the organisation. This could include flexibility around when hours are worked, alongside the option to consider a slightly reduced-hours arrangement for the right candidate.
We're a small and growing team, so there will be times when collaboration and availability are important, but we focus on outcomes rather than being prescriptive about when or where work is done.
We also recognise that people don't always meet every requirement listed in a job description. If you're excited about the role and can demonstrate strong organisational, relationship-building and problem-solving skills, we'd encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't exactly match everything we've described. The role involves occasional UK travel, including to meet supply partners, Multibanks and colleagues.
The Director of Supply & Partnerships is based in the North West, and the ability to travel to Preston / Manchester on occasion is advantageous, particularly during the induction period.
