This is a full-time permanent role, working 35 hours in the North West and/or North East region.
As an Independent Visitor & Quality Assurance Officer you will be required to complete statutory and non-statutory independent allocated visits within prescribed timescales and to quality assure reports submitted by other members of the team.
The purpose of this role is to ensure that judgements are consistent with evidence provided and that the feedback given is an element of continuous improvement.
While the role is home-based, there will be occasions where travel is required, including working on public transport.

School of Hard Knocks (SOHK) is one of the UK’s leading education charities, working in 29 secondary schools across England, Scotland, and Wales. Using rugby as a key delivery tool, we support young people who are struggling to engage in early secondary education - often because of anxiety, low confidence, disrupted home lives, or behavioural challenges rooted in trauma. For many of the children we support, life has already brought more hardship than most adults experience in a lifetime. The SOHK Schools Programme is a two-year intervention working with cohorts of around 20 pupils from Year 7 through to Year 9. Each week, we deliver half a day of rugby training and classroom sessions built around our 3Cs framework, covering topics such as growth mindset, goal setting, and decision-making, alongside monthly one-to-one sessions with every pupil. The Role

We are looking to recruit an Administration and Grants Officer to support the output of our HQ, including benevolent fund caseload management, member support, and general Association output. Some travel is expected to support membership events inc. evenings & weekends, with occasional overnight stays. About the role
This Debt Advice Case Manager role combines both technical and pastoral elements. It will involve building a client case, untangling sometimes complex situations, liaising with creditors, providing guidance for volunteers, and discerning and communicating the appropriate choices and strategies for the client. You will also need to lead client appointments and support clients through what at times can be emotionally difficult situations. Ideally, we are looking for someone with prior debt advice experience, and who has experience of working with vulnerable clients and supporting volunteers. However, we will also consider employing someone as a trainee Debt Advice Case Manager if they are able to demonstrate that they possess the skills, maturity, and determination to become proficient in this role.
Being available onsite is an important aspect of this role two-thirds of your time spent in one of our Wandsworth locations or in our Head Office in Kensington. The exact split between remote/onsite working will be by agreement with the line manager and to meet the needs of the service which could change over time. This role is not suitable for remote working only.
