You’ll start at our entry point salary of £33,044 per annum, increasing to £35,109 after 6 months service and satisfactory performance and to £37,174* after a further 6 months.

Are you an experienced fundraiser looking to take the next step in your direct marketing career? Do you want your work to make a real and lasting impact?

We’re looking for a motivated, organised and creative Senior Individual Giving Officer to join our ambitious, supportive development team at the MS Society.

You’ll play a key role in planning and delivering multi-channel fundraising campaigns and supporter engagements projects to time, income targets and expenditure budgets. You’ll have space to be creative, freedom to test new ideas, and the chance to shape the future of our development programme.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who’s already worked in an individual giving role and is ready to take on more responsibility.  You’ll be organised, with a strong eye for detail and a proven track record of managing successful direct marketing campaigns from start to finish. You’ll analyse results, test new ideas, and find ways to improve future campaigns.

With great interpersonal skills, you’ll work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver high-quality campaigns and build relationships with supporters. With a creative and enthusiastic approach, you’ll take ownership of your work, shape our individual giving programme, and make a real difference to people living with MS.

Job role:

In this exciting and varied role, within our growing Mass Engagement department we are seeking a strategic, driven, and compassionate Individual Giving Manager to join our dynamic fundraising team.

This pivotal role will lead the development and delivery of innovative individual giving strategies that deepen donor engagement, grow sustainable income, and support families with children in hospital across the UK.

Key responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership

• Collaborate with the Head of Mass Engagement to design and implement a robust individual giving strategy aligned with the Charity’s 5-year Impact Strategy.
• Identify and capitalise on growth opportunities across digital channels, regular giving, and mid-level donor programmes.
• Lead the Individual Giving Team (Currently 1x Individual Giving Fundraiser)

Donor Engagement & Stewardship

• Build and nurture meaningful relationships with individual donors, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and long-term support.
• Develop tailored stewardship and cultivation plans, enhancing donor connection to the Charity’s impact.
• Lead on the creation of compelling donor journeys and engagement campaigns that inspire giving and loyalty.

Campaign Management

• Plan, execute, and evaluate multi-channel fundraising campaigns and appeals, working closely with internal teams and external partners.
• Use insights and data to refine campaign strategies, improve performance, and maximise return on investment.

Data & Insights

• Leverage CRM systems and fundraising databases to monitor donor behaviour, track income, and generate actionable insights.
• Produce regular reports to inform decision-making and demonstrate impact.

Collaboration & Integration

• Work cross-functionally with colleagues in communications, digital, and Family Services to ensure cohesive messaging and donor experience.
• Champion individual giving and digital fundraising across the organisation, promoting best practices and innovation.

Skills & Experience:

Essential

• Demonstrable experience delivering successful Individual Giving campaigns, with strong knowledge of multi-channel direct marketing techniques
• A proven track record of income generation, supporter acquisition and retention, and delivering against financial targets and budgets
• Experience in managing and reporting on income and expenditure budgets, with proven experience meeting or exceeding income targets
• Experience and knowledge of digital tools, channels and tactics for raising money from individuals and deepening engagement
• Experience of using audience insights and segmentation tactics to improve results
• Creative thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.
• Collaborative, able to work effectively across teams and support our collective success
• Strong understanding of donor stewardship and relationship management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and engage diverse audiences
• Analytical mindset with experience in using CRM systems to report on performance and optimise campaigns
• Highly organised with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Up-to-date knowledge of fundraising trends, especially in digital and donor engagement
• Line management and team development experience

Desirable

• Experience managing agencies and suppliers, alongside strong analytical skills to interpret data, test and optimise campaign performance

We are looking for an experienced individual giving professional who can lead the individual giving programme and driving income growth to meet their ambitious goals.

Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) exists to make their outstanding hospitals even better. They raise vital funds to support Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals — connecting generous people with projects that go beyond the boundaries of NHS funding and help deliver the very best in patient care, clinical outcomes and research.

ACT is entering a defining chapter: alongside supporting their existing hospitals, they are helping to bring to life two once-in-a-generation pioneering new hospitals: the Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital and the Cambridge Children’s Hospital. Together, these hospitals will transform healthcare locally, nationally and globally, placing Cambridge at the heart of medical innovation.

The Role

As the Head of Individual Giving & Supporter Engagement, you will be instrumental in developing and executing an ambitious growth plan to maximise Individual giving income and supporter engagement. Managing an income responsibility of circa £1 million, you will lead and motivate a talented team of three fundraisers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and execute ACT’s supporter engagement and Individual Giving strategies, producing annual plans to drive an ambitious step-change in acquisition and retention.
• Oversee and drive growth across all individual giving streams, including appeals, digital, lottery, regular giving, and the face-to-face fundraising programme.
• Utilise data analysis, segmentation, and performance metrics to evaluate, pivot, and optimise campaign success and supporter journeys.
• Manage six-figure budgets, financial reporting, and forecasting to maximise the lifetime value of donors giving up to £10k.
• Ensure excellent cross-team collaboration with communications, data, and community teams

Experience Needed:

• Proven track record of success at a senior level within individual giving/direct marketing with clear demonstrable results of delivering on supporter and income growth.
• Expert knowledge of creating and delivering compelling fundraising communications across a range of channels, including digital.
• Strong experience managing six-figure budgets and utilising detailed financial analysis to maximise results  
• Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements, including practical application of GDPR legislation.
• Proven leadership and team development skills with the ability to manage multiple projects ensuring deadlines are met
