About the Role
The primary focus of the Grants Officer is to support schools and youth organisations to operate the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme effectively and to promote, grow and deliver this and other Jack Petchey Foundation (JPF) grant programmes across London and Essex. This role will be responsible for Districts across Essex and act as the lead for specific uniform groups who deliver their activities in Essex.
This is a new role created following a recent restructure of the Grants team. It is offered initially as a 12- month contract (0.6 FTE / 22.5 hours per week) to support the growth of our Achievement Award scheme across Essex, with the potential of an extension, following review and subject to available funding. The working days and working pattern will be discussed with the successful candidate, however, it is worth noting the role will require evening and weekend work, so we are seeking someone who can be work flexibly.
The Achievement Award Scheme is the Jack Petchey Foundation’s flagship programme, with more than 2,000 schemes being operated in more than 1,400 schools, colleges and youth organisations across London and Essex. The post holder will manage delivery of the scheme and associated small grants in an assigned area of Essex. They will be responsible for maintaining and developing positive relationships with schools and youth organisations. The role will involve regular travel to visit schools and youth organisations, as well as outreach and community engagement work to identify and support new groups to apply to join our scheme. This work will also require evenings and occasional weekend work, especially to carry out assessment and review visits with youth organisations and to participate in our Achievement Award celebration events.
The successful candidate would therefore be someone who has flexibility to travel, work out-of-office hours, enjoys building relationships and public speaking, as well as navigating a busy grants and assessment caseload (desk-based processing, telephone calls/emails, and daily use of a database). You will need to be happy to travel regularly around Essex and one day per week to our office in Canary Wharf.

The Grants Officer role demands a wide range of skills and a high degree of autonomy, reliability and flexibility. Evening and weekend work is a requirement to meet the demands of this role. This is a busy and satisfying role, with each Grants Officer leading relationships with between 350-400 organisations. You will have strong planning skills and the ability to deal efficiently with regular grant applications, and with busy grant reporting periods twice a year.
Evening and weekend work is a requirement of this role, which on occasion can require up to two to three out-of-hours events in one week, depending on the event schedule. These are seasonal events, primarily during term-time and time off in lieu will be granted for additional hours worked. This role could offer flexibility around school holidays.

Main Areas of Responsibility
1 Develop, manage and promote the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme and other JPF opportunities
1.1. Identify schools and youth organisations not currently running the scheme and proactively promote the Achievement Award (AA) scheme to them, following up as required
1.2 Receive, assess and process all grant applications to join the AA scheme, in accordance with Jack Petchey Foundation policies and procedures
1.3 Attend, participate and assist with delivery of Achievement Award celebration events (usually evenings with some weekend events), including making a speech to congratulate the young people
2 Quality Assurance for the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme
2.1 Develop relationships with and support schools, alternative provision, and youth organisations on the Jack Petchey Achievement Award (AA) scheme to operate the scheme to the highest possible standard
2.2 Provide timely support to such organisations to enable them to run the AA scheme effectively
2.3 Implement a strategic approach to conducting face-to-face and digital assessment and monitoring visits to schools and youth organisations in your area on the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme, to ensure our funding is well spent and to identify opportunities to improve delivery
3 Administer the Jack Petchey Foundation grant making process
3.1 Ensure accurate records are kept on the Foundation’s database (Salesforce), including up-to-date contact details and records of communication with groups in receipt of or applying for grants
3.2 Approve/authorise payment of AA grants and related programmes in accordance with our policies
3.3 Ensure appropriate grant reporting by schools and youth organisations and negotiate return of funds where a grant has not been used in accordance with conditions
3.4 Proactively manage risk, being alert to potential fraud 3.5 Ensure that clubs and groups receive all necessary materials to operate the Achievement Award scheme effectively
3.6 Assess and approve Leader Awards and Environmental Awards in accordance with our policy
3.7 Assess applications for Leader Award Grants, Educational Visits and Learning Experiences Grants and Environmental Award Grants in accordance with our policy, with recommendations put forward to senior staff
3.8 Provide regular updates on your work and Grants Officer patch during monthly one-to-ones
4 Promote the wider work of the Jack Petchey Foundation to schools and youth groups
4.1 Identify case studies and other stories and material that can be used for our communications, supporting communications team colleagues to raise awareness of our opportunities and impact
4.2 Represent the Foundation at digital and physical events, local networks, funders’ fairs, and community or young people’s forums to help promote our Grant Programmes and other opportunities
4.3 Assist with digital and face-to-face monitoring and reporting in relation to groups that have received a Jack Petchey Foundation Project Grant or other funding Promote the wider work of the Jack Petchey Foundation to schools and youth groups
Other Responsibilities
5.1 Actively contribute to Grants team and Jack Petchey Foundation team meetings
5.2 Take a lead on specific projects and undertake other tasks as agreed with Grants Manager
5.3 Provide telephone/email support and advice about our funding streams to existing grantees or potential applicants

- Coordinate booking dates/times – working with schools to ensure we fulfil their application to join one of our programmes.
- Handle enquiries and maintain accurate booking records.
- Staff allocation – Secure a freelance educator to deliver content.
- Direct communication – building relationships with schools, teachers, and school staff, ensuring a smooth user experience for our clients. This includes, but is not limited to, answering queries from teachers / staff as received, linking schools with respective freelance educators as necessary, sharing all relevant updates and information ensuring teachers/staff are fully informed about the delivery plans.

3. Content Creation and Brand Compliance

4. Events and Programme Administration

Action for Conservation is a UK grassroots charity using innovative approaches to inspire and empower young people from diverse backgrounds, between the ages of 12 and 24, to become the next generation of environmental leaders. In 2019, we launched our flagship Penpont Project on a 2,000-acre estate in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), Wales. The Penpont Project is the largest intergenerational nature restoration project of its kind in the world, aiming to demonstrate how youth leadership and ambition can advance nature’s recovery at a time of acute ecological crisis.
We are currently looking for a Community Tree Nursery Coordinator to join the Penpont Project and run our Community Tree Nursery, growing trees from native tree species, including trees of conservation and heritage value, through collaborative learning and community-building activities. The focus of the role is as much on intergenerational learning and community engagement as it is on the processes of tree rearing and producing trees for planting out across the landscape. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with good knowledge of tree planting, growth and care, and a passion for working with young people and communities. - Good horticultural knowledge, from selecting seeds to growing and nurturing tree stock, including traditional growing techniques; knowledge related to woodlands and forest ecosystems is desirable

About the role
The Research and Evaluation Manager will work to position King’s College London as a sector leader on conducting institutional evaluation and research to understand how we can support students from underrepresented groups to access university and succeed at university. Our team aims to generate causal evidence, either through Randomised Controlled Trials or Quasi-experimental designs.

· Confident and clear written and verbal communication, including report-writing, data visualisation and presentation skills.
· Ability to give a team clear direction and guide it to the successful completion of a task.
· Ability to identify and manage the objectives, performance, and development needs of others.
Desirable criteria
· Postgraduate degree or qualification in research methods, statistics, analytics or a related field and/or relevant experience.

Main purpose of the role

- Ensure the Community's financial sustainability through robust financial planning and management, including setting budgets, controlling spending, maximising occupancy, negotiating care contracts, growing day services, and spotting fundraising opportunities;
- Foster a culture that maximises the voice and power for people with learning disabilities, building listening and collaboration between Community members with and without learning disabilities;
- Contribute to the national work programmes of L'Arche UK, as part of the National Council, collaborating with Community Leaders of other L'Arche Communities, to share skills, best practice, and resources
Key essential criteria
- Senior leadership experience in support to adults with learning disabilities (or transferable skills and experience in a closely related field);
- Experience in leading, managing, and developing an organisation or large teams to deliver results, maintain compliance and quality, and to respond to risks and opportunities;
- Good financial planning skills and experiences of successfully managing a substantial budget;
- Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively to develop and implement community plans;
- Experience of living or working alongside people with learning disabilities and/or autistic individuals;
- Passionate about person-centred support and the values and mission of L'Arche;

Luton Town FC Community Trust is seeking to recruit a Community Operations Manager to play a key role in the coordination, delivery and development of its community programmes. This is a senior operational role, working closely with the Head of Community Trust to ensure programmes are well managed, aligned to organisational priorities and delivered to a high standard.
The role will combine operational leadership with a proportion of direct programme delivery, enabling the postholder to remain connected to communities, delivery teams and participant needs. The Community Operations Manager will also contribute to the development of new programmes and associated funding opportunities, support partnership working and act as a key decision maker for day-to-day operational matters.

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Community Trust, the Community Operations Manager will provide operational leadership across the organisation, while maintaining a proportion of direct programme delivery to remain connected to communities, delivery teams and participant needs.
The role will coordinate and strengthen programme delivery; line manage designated staff and support the development of new programmes and associated funding opportunities aligned to organisational priorities.
The postholder will embed organisational strategy into effective day to day operations, acting as a key decision maker for operational matters and supporting senior leadership capacity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Community Engagement & Relationship Building
- Build strong relationships with funders, local authorities, key stakeholders, local schools, charities, grassroots clubs and other community organisations.
- Act as a liaison between the football club and the local community.
- Promote inclusion and diversity through outreach to underrepresented groups.
2. Programme Development & Delivery
- Contribute to and support funding applications, programme design, delivery and evaluation across community programmes within each department including, but not limited to:
- Education
- Health
- Inclusion
- Football Development
3. Staff and Volunteer Management
- Recruit, train and manage staff employees and volunteers who represent the Trust.
- Provide leadership and mentoring for delivery coaches, project workers, media team and match day staff.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
- Track the impact of community programmes using required and appropriate metrics and key performance indicators.
- Prepare reports for stakeholders, funders (e.g. EFL in the Community, Premier League Foundation, local authorities), and Luton Town Community Trust Board of Trustees.
- Ensure compliance and governance with safeguarding, health and safety and data protection policies.
5. Marketing & Promotion
- Raise awareness of the Trust’s work through managing the organisations media output across various platforms e.g. web site, newsletters, social media and local media outlets.
- Represent the Trust at community events, matchdays, and public forums.
6. Fundraising & Grant Management
- Collaborate with the Head of Trust and Programme Managers to identify and apply for grants and funding opportunities.
- Build partnerships with sponsors, local businesses and charitable foundations.
7. Club Integration
- Work cosely with all football club departments, including first team players and staff, media and marketing, facilities and catering, and Academy to ensure alignment between Community Trust and Club.
- Manage the efficient coordination of player appearances and community involvement on behalf of the Club
MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education/Qualifications/Training:
Essentials
- Strong experience in community development, sport development and youth engagement.
- Strong project and operational management skills, with the ability to plan, deliver and evaluate initiatives – prioritising and managing multiple priorities
- Experience with grant funding processes
- Experience of developing organisational strategy within the sporting or charity sector
- Experience in partnership working with schools, councils, charities
- Leadership and staff supervision experience – managing coaches, volunteers or delivery staff
- Monitoring & evaluation skills – ability to track KPIs and write impact reports
- Budget management experience
- Confident IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office and database software
- Valid First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience delivering health, inclusion, educational or behaviour-change programmesAbility to work to deadlines and meet project targets
- Understanding of health inequalities and barriers faced by children and families
