At Mayor's Fund for London, we believe every young Londoner should have the opportunity to thrive. To help us achieve that, we're looking for an organised and proactive Programme Officer (Communities & Opportunities) to coordinate our City Shapers programme and provide operational support across Kitchen Social, helping deliver meaningful opportunities for young people and strengthening communities across London.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing people together, building relationships and making programmes happen. As the lead coordinator for City Shapers, you'll work alongside community organisations and young people to deliver social action opportunities that help young Londoners develop confidence, employability skills and a stronger connection to their communities.
Alongside leading City Shapers, you'll play an important role in supporting the operational delivery of Kitchen Social, one of London's largest holiday food programmes. You'll help coordinate partner communications, maintain programme systems and data, support reporting and financial processes, and ensure our community partners receive the information and support they need to deliver high-quality provision for children and families.
You'll work closely with colleagues across the Communities & Opportunities team to ensure our programmes run smoothly, identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen delivery and share learning. Whether you're coordinating an event, maintaining programme information, supporting community partners or analysing participation data, you'll help ensure our work is organised, effective and centred around the needs of young Londoners.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, takes pride in being organised and is motivated by making a positive difference. You'll be equally comfortable building trusted relationships with community organisations, coordinating multiple priorities and using systems and data to support high-quality programme delivery.
This is a role for someone who wants to combine excellent programme coordination with genuine social purpose. If you're passionate about creating opportunities for young people and want your work to contribute to stronger communities and better outcomes across London, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll bring
You'll have experience coordinating programmes, projects or community initiatives, building positive relationships with a range of stakeholders and managing competing priorities effectively. You'll be confident using digital systems to maintain accurate records and support reporting, while always looking for practical ways to improve how programmes are delivered. Most importantly, you'll be organised, collaborative and committed to helping young Londoners thrive.
We recognise that no candidate is likely to meet every criterion. If your experience aligns closely with the role and you believe you have the skills and potential to succeed, we'd encourage you to apply.

Right to Work

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
The Head of Fundraising and Communications plays a pivotal role in shaping and driving Bowel Research UK's fundraising strategies and audience engagement initiatives.
This position is responsible for embedding and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies, growing the charity’s supporter base and income, building up new and under-developed income streams and communicating effectively with their audiences to expand their reach, and encourage financial and non-financial support to deliver the organisations mission.
You will have the autonomy and scope to drive elements of your work and take ownership of your own objectives. You will be required to collaborate on decisions to shape and deliver initiatives, programmes and processes as required for each area of income delivery.
Key to the success of this role is a strong understanding of individual giving fundraising – an area that is underdeveloped at Bowel Research UK. This role blends the strategic oversight and leadership of a Head of Fundraising role, with the hands-on expertise of an IG fundraiser. Experience across other income streams would be a huge benefit as the role leads all fundraising income streams, but experience in individual giving is essential.
The successful candidate for this role will be someone who has already operated at a senior level within a charity such as at Senior Manager level, or Head of in a specific income stream.

Citizens UK
Citizens UK is the UK’s biggest, most diverse and most effective people-powered alliance. We bring communities and local organisations together to work on issues that matter; from campaigning for zebra crossings on dangerous roads, to reforming the immigration system, to the Living Wage campaign. We have a track record of winning change through hundreds of local and national campaigns. We know everyday people have the ability to shape the world around them. We believe that through developing local leaders, we can drive nationwide change and create community-led solutions to big and small problems.
This role will also work closely alongside the Living Wage Foundation communications function. The Living Wage movement began in 2001, after Citizens UK brought together communities in East London to discuss poverty and low pay. The campaign grew in momentum and soon required a mechanism to recognise employers who wanted to join the movement, which saw the establishment of the Living Wage Foundation in 2011. Still part of Citizens UK today, the Living Wage Foundation continues to work with community organisations to make sure the voices of both workers and businesses are part of the Living Wage movement. We now work with over 16,000 employers, benefitting over 475,000 people and winning over £4bn of better wages for people who need it most.
Purpose
At Citizens UK, our staff work within communities to develop leaders, strengthen organisations, campaign for change and organise across difference. There are various project roles and operational, communication, finance and HR roles that support the organisation and project staff and organisers to deliver on this mission and work. This work is rewarding and can be challenging; it requires a personal commitment to inclusion, a willingness to listen and disagree respectfully, and an interest in working in an organisation where our staff, member institutions and leaders will come from a diversity of backgrounds and often hold views that may be very different from our own. More information about how we operate within this context and build trusted relationships across difference can be found on our website and is covered in induction. Onboarding and navigating this relational culture, and type of work, is supported by line managers and further training.

Using Anonymous Recruitment
This organisation is using Anonymous Recruitment to reduce bias in the first stages of the hiring process. Submit your application as normal and our system will anonymise it for you. Your personal information will be hidden until the recruiter contacts you.
We’re looking for a skilled digital communicator who understands what works online and can turn ideas into clear, compelling content across social, web and email. Your work will raise the profile and priority of public libraries with key audiences, including local and national politicians, while keeping our members informed about the impact we deliver on their behalf.
You’ll work closely with the Communications and Advocacy Manager as part of our Policy, External Affairs and Research (PEAR) team. The team leads our work to influence policy, build partnerships and raise the profile of public libraries nationally and locally - working with government, partners, the media and our members.
You’ll write with clarity, create simple visuals or video, and use data to improve performance. Crucially, you’ll balance creativity with consistency - working within our tone of voice while handling nuanced and sensitive issues.
You don’t need a library background, but you must believe in the power of public libraries to open up opportunities, expand horizons and bring communities together.
About us
Libraries Connected is the national membership body for public library services.
We are an independent charity representing almost every public library service in England, Wales and Northern Ireland – 176 services, with around 3000 branches serving over 61 million people.
We bring together the people who run these services to collaborate, share knowledge and strengthen the sector’s collective voice.
Our work is led by our members and shaped by their priorities. This means we can respond quickly to emerging issues and provide clear, practical support where it is needed most.
Working at Libraries Connected
We are a friendly, collaborative team of around 20 staff based all around England and Wales.
We value diversity and are committed to promoting an inclusive working environment. We strongly believe that inclusive and diverse organisations are not only better places to work, they are more innovative, make better decisions and are more successful. We value people who bring unique perspectives and knowledge to our team.
We want to make our recruitment process as fair as possible. To reduce bias, we shortlist candidates based on their responses to up to five application questions. These are designed to tell us about your values, experience, attitudes to work, and transferable skills. We do not ask for a separate cover letter or supporting statement.
We offer flexible working as standard, helping work fit around family and caring responsibilities. Many of our staff work their hours in different ways, including compressed hours. We are open to discussing what would work for you and be possible for the role.
All roles are remote and are open to applicants who live anywhere in the UK. We provide staff with a home office set-up including laptop, monitor and phone. There is the option to work from our central London office or use a co-working space if it is not possible to work from home.

Safer Recruitment
Depaul UK is committed to fair and inclusive recruitment, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. If a role requires it under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, we will carry out the appropriate Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check. We only look at information that is relevant to the role, and a criminal record will never be treated as an automatic barrier to employment. All DBS information is handled sensitively, confidentially and in line with the DBS Code of Practice, and we encourage applicants to discuss any concerns with us openly.
About Depaul UK
In the 1980s, high unemployment and steep inflation was contributing to a shocking rise in youth homelessness across London. Thousands of young people were sleeping rough every night, with many areas notoriously dubbed “cardboard cities” due to the visible rise in street homelessness. Appalled by the scenes playing out across the capital, a group of people came together to tackle the challenge head on. Led by Cardinal Basil Hume and Mark McGreevy OBE, in 1989 Depaul UK was born.
What began as a single housing project in North London soon expanded across London, Greater Manchester and the North East of England. Today, Depaul UK provides accommodation, prevention and support services to thousands of marginalised young people across the UK each year.
As our name suggests, the work of Depaul UK has been inspired by St. Vincent de Paul – a man who devoted his life to helping vast numbers of people throughout the 17th century. St. Vincent de Paul’s belief in the intrinsic worth of all people and his commitment to taking bold action remain central to our values today. Depaul UK now forms part of a family of Depaul charities around the world. We each focus on the specific challenges in our own countries, but we’re united by our shared values and mission to end homelessness.
Please note this role is advertised by the recruitment agency acting for the client – Not For Profit People.

About us
Carers UK’s vision is to create a society that recognises, values and supports carers. As the leading national charity for unpaid carers, we exist to make life better for carers, however caring affects them. Our support, advice, information and campaigning work are now needed more than ever, as unpaid carers are providing more and more care, adversely impacting on their own health and wellbeing.
About the role
We recognise the value of social media in communicating with all our audiences; whether unpaid carers or their friends and families, employers, politicians, service providers, supporters and all those people who may become a carer for a partner, family member, friend or neighbour and will need information, support, and to know that there are people working to make their lives better.
This role works with colleagues across the organisation - but also in partnership with external organisations and agencies, with targets set for engagement (and other indicators of the success of our campaigns). We're working on multiple campaigns simultaneously; whether that's Carers Week, campaigns to influence changes to the law to better support carers, encouraging unpaid carers to join us as members, updating on activities in the devolved nations or getting people to fundraise for Carers UK. And we use a mix of owned, earned and paid communications to drive engagement in a challenging and crowded environment in order to get our messages to cut through. It's a busy, but varied role, in a supportive and collaborative team.
About you

You'll be happy using tools for social listening, interacting with our audiences and building our reach. You'll be familiar with key metrics for social engagement and will be reporting back to colleagues and other stakeholders - and using this data to constantly improve our communications.
You'll be skilled in writing longer form content for our members' magazine, Caring, proof reading articles, posting content on our websites, creating graphics and making sure our content is engaging, audience focused and dynamic. Oh, and you probably know your way around an emoji set and are not scared of a well timed pun. We're a small but effective communications team and pride ourselves on getting stuck in and supporting each other when we need to deliver big on fast moving projects, so you'll need be able to juggle lots of demands while recognising the importance of always hitting deadlines.
