About the role

Lead a finance function ready for its next chapter
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance leader to join a well-established charity at a pivotal stage in its development. Reporting to the Finance Director and sitting on the Senior Leadership Group, you will lead the finance function, providing the financial leadership, insight and accountability needed to support organisational performance and future growth. As the Head of Finance, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day finance function, ensuring efficient and effective financial operations.
- Manage month-end processes and produce accurate, insightful management accounts.
- Partner with budget holders and senior stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
- Monitor cash flow, financial performance and organisational resources.
- Oversee grant reporting and ensure compliance with funder requirements.
- Support budgeting, financial planning, governance and audit activities.
- Lead, support and develop the Finance Manager and wider finance team.
- Improve communication, accountability and service delivery across the finance function.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Significant experience of line management working within charity finance.
- Professional accountancy qualification e.g. CIMA or ACCA
- Experience producing management accounts and leading month-end close processes.
- Experience of grant management and other statutory funding agreements
- Strong financial management and finance operations expertise.
- Experience partnering with stakeholders across an organisation.

Brand & Messaging ~ Extend and enforce our digital brand guidelines (with agency input), aligning tone, visuals and youth-centred storytelling across every channel so participants, alumni and mentors are visible at all touchpoints.

Content & Engagement ~ Build and run a structured master content calendar across all channels, replacing high-volume unstructured output with purposeful, story-led content.

Reputation, PR & Research ~ Lead the PR and awards strategy: targeted press activity, quarterly media features and two award submissions per year.

Partner Network (Corporate & Commercial) ~ Design the 20/20 Levels Partner Network proposition, intentionally articulating what partners and mentors give and receive, to strengthen commitment, retention and long-term reciprocal relationships across all partner types.

Commercial Development & Unrestricted Income ~ Design and package tiered corporate sponsorship propositions with clear, differentiated value for partners at each level.

Employer Brand ~ Worrking with the Chief of Staff to develop the employer value proposition, recruitment pack and employer presence (LinkedIn, Glassdoor) to support recruitment of staff, facilitators and mentors as the organisation grows.

Team Leadership & Budget ~ Lead and develop the brand and content team, including recruitment, task allocation, coaching and performance management.

Reporting to the Responsible Officer, you will lead our quality assurance strategy, driving continuous improvement across assessment, awarding, governance and operational practices. You'll oversee compliance with regulatory requirements, manage key quality and risk processes, and provide expert leadership to ensure learners receive a fair, consistent and high-quality experience across our qualifications provision and associated apprenticeship assessment and quality activities.

We're looking for someone who brings:

About the role
As Head of Research and Evaluation, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of our research and evaluation strategies. This work will help us to understand and provide insight into the challenges and difficulties faced by families with disabled children, the quality of services we provide and the difference our support makes for the families we serve.
You will ensure that the voice of families is at the centre of our research and evaluation approach to help shape existing and new programmes and services, and our policy and public affairs work.
If you join us, you’ll be:
- Leading the continued development and implementation of Family Fund’s research and evaluation strategies.
- Developing and overseeing our evaluation and service quality frameworks, including our Theory of Change outcomes measurement framework.
- Championing the ‘voice of families’, embedding their lived experience at the heart of our research.
- Managing and delivering high-quality research and evaluation projects/initiatives.
- Producing accessible, engaging, and impactful research outputs for a variety of audiences.
- Promoting the use of innovative and participatory research methodologies.

For this role you will need to have experience in developing and managing research and evaluation strategies, frameworks, activities and production of subsequent products. You will also need to have experience of working in partnership with other organisations, and of resource and budget management.
To be successful in this role, you will need excellent analytical skills as well as sound knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methodology and best practice through the research cycle. You will need to have good writing skills and an ability to communicate effectively with different audiences. You will also need to have the ability to interpret and present research in an accessible and engaging way.
You will be a self and team motivator with excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop and sustain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will be pro-active and driven to succeed.
