We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our operations team, someone with a strong financial background with excellent attention to detail, a flexible attitude, an ability to work effectively under their own initiative and as part of a small team, together with excellent organisation and administrative skills.

Effective financial control is central to our strategy and operating model. The finance officer plays an essential role in maintaining control over our finances and operations. You will process and monitor financial transactions, liaise with our payroll bureau regarding staff payroll and pensions and support the Head of finance. You will be experienced in using Dynamics 365 Business Central as an accounting system.

This is a part-time role for two days a week (0.4FTE), with flexibility about when the hours are worked. It's a hybrid role, working from home and from our office. You will report to our Head of finance. You will also work with all staff on financial matters including personal and credit card expenses, central and project income and expenditure, and processing of payroll by liaising with our external bureau.

The postholder will play a vital role in advancing Southall Black Sisters’ (SBS) policy, communications and public affairs work. This includes shaping and delivering strategies that:
• Promote SBS’s mission to end violence against women and girls (VAWG), particularly for Black, minoritised and migrant (BMM) women and girls.
• Influence public policy and legislation to secure justice, safety and rights for Black, minoritised and migrant women and girls.
• Strengthening the public voice and visibility of SBS through impactful communications and campaigning.
They will work closely with senior staff, partner organisations and stakeholders to ensure that SBS’s policy positions, campaigns and services are effectively communicated, and that the lived experiences of the women and girls SBS supports are at the forefront of public and political discourse.

Job role:

In this exciting and varied role, within our growing Mass Engagement department we are seeking a strategic, driven, and compassionate Individual Giving Manager to join our dynamic fundraising team.

This pivotal role will lead the development and delivery of innovative individual giving strategies that deepen donor engagement, grow sustainable income, and support families with children in hospital across the UK.

Key responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership

• Collaborate with the Head of Mass Engagement to design and implement a robust individual giving strategy aligned with the Charity’s 5-year Impact Strategy.
• Identify and capitalise on growth opportunities across digital channels, regular giving, and mid-level donor programmes.
• Lead the Individual Giving Team (Currently 1x Individual Giving Fundraiser)

Donor Engagement & Stewardship

• Build and nurture meaningful relationships with individual donors, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and long-term support.
• Develop tailored stewardship and cultivation plans, enhancing donor connection to the Charity’s impact.
• Lead on the creation of compelling donor journeys and engagement campaigns that inspire giving and loyalty.

Campaign Management

• Plan, execute, and evaluate multi-channel fundraising campaigns and appeals, working closely with internal teams and external partners.
• Use insights and data to refine campaign strategies, improve performance, and maximise return on investment.

Data & Insights

• Leverage CRM systems and fundraising databases to monitor donor behaviour, track income, and generate actionable insights.
• Produce regular reports to inform decision-making and demonstrate impact.

Collaboration & Integration

• Work cross-functionally with colleagues in communications, digital, and Family Services to ensure cohesive messaging and donor experience.
• Champion individual giving and digital fundraising across the organisation, promoting best practices and innovation.

Skills & Experience:

Essential

• Proven experience delivering successful individual giving campaigns using multi-channel direct marketing.
• Strong track record of supporter acquisition, retention and income growth, achieving or exceeding financial targets.
• Experience managing campaign budgets and income performance.
• Knowledge of digital fundraising tools, channels and audience engagement techniques.
• Skilled in using audience insight and segmentation to improve campaign results.
• Strong understanding of donor stewardship and supporter relationship management.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to create compelling donor-focused content.

Location & Working Pattern:

The organisation operates a 32-hour full-time working week, with employees typically working 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday to Thursday (including a 30-minute lunch break) and enjoying Fridays off.

Hybrid working is in place, with 1-2 days per week in the London office.

As Major Gifts Officer, you will:

• Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, building trusted relationships that maximise long-term philanthropic support
• Develop and deliver tailored cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for each supporter, taking responsibility for the full donor journey
• Identify new prospects, secure meetings and create bespoke engagement plans that build a strong pipeline of future supporters
• Make compelling asks through face-to-face meetings, telephone conversations and written proposals, securing significant gifts for Greenpeace UK’s priorities

• Experience managing a portfolio of donors, clients, accounts or comparable external relationships, developing tailored engagement strategies that build long-term relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop compelling proposals, pitches and donor communications, and build credibility with senior stakeholders
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple relationships simultaneously, prioritise competing demands, maintain accurate records and deliver against income or commercial targets
• A warm, authentic and emotionally intelligent relationship-builder, able to adapt your approach to different audiences and create meaningful engagement opportunities
• Confident representing an organisation professionally at meetings, events and other external engagements
• A collaborative approach, sound judgement and genuine commitment to Greenpeace UK’s values and mission

Desirable, but not essential:

• Substantial major donor fundraising (full cycle) experience with track record of personally securing 5-figure gifts
• Experience securing high 5-figure or 6-figure+ gifts or comparable high-value income
• Experience of capital campaigns or other strategic relationship fundraising
