As Welcome Manager, you’ll join a newly shaped Individual Giving team at the Royal British Legion in a role that sits right at the centre of supporter engagement. You’ll be responsible for delivering high quality welcome journeys and campaigns that introduce new supporters to RBL in a compelling, engaging and well-timed way. Working closely with the Senior Welcome Manager, internal teams and agency partners, you’ll take ownership of delivering multi-channel communications that are strategically aligned, insight led and commercially focused. You’ll be managing multiple campaigns and projects at pace, ensuring activity is effectively planned, delivered on time and continuously optimised through testing, reporting and performance analysis. You’ll also play an important role in building strong relationships across fundraising, particularly with data, planning and product strategy teams, helping to ensure campaigns are connected, targeted and delivering the best possible supporter experience.

We’re looking for someone with experience delivering supporter journeys or large-scale marketing campaigns within a fundraising or customer focused environment, who is confident managing stakeholders and working collaboratively across complex teams. You’ll need strong organisational skills, an eye for detail and the ability to balance creativity with process and performance. This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast moving environment, is confident using audience insight and campaign data to shape activity, and wants to be part of a team focused on building smarter, more effective supporter communications.

About The Role

This is a senior leadership role at the heart of our mass fundraising acquisition activity, responsible for shaping how new supporters are brought into the organisation and how we turn early engagement into long term relationships. You’ll lead across multiple channels including digital, TV, face to face and broader campaign activity, making sure everything is joined up, commercially strong, and working towards clear growth outcomes. The role is about creating clarity in complexity bringing structure, focus and consistency to how we attract and convert new supporters at scale.

Our Challenge Events team has seen a massive increase in fundraiser numbers this year. We’re hiring to unlock the full potential of this incredible community. Reporting into the Challenge Events Manager, you’ll boost our ability to grow our portfolio of events and connect personally with the incredible people who support CALM on a day to day basis. 

The reasons people fundraise for CALM can be deeply personal. They might have lost someone to suicide, used our helpline for themselves or someone they know, or they might want to support a lifesaving service. By understanding what drives them, you’ll shape and deliver event experiences that feel meaningful and memorable, strengthen their connection to CALM, and inspire them to keep coming back for more. 

Responsibilities

• Support on delivery of the Challenge Events portfolio, ensuring Challenge Event Fundraisers are staying on track - such as completing registration forms on time, and setting up fundraising pages

• Provide end-to-end operational support for fundraising events, including liaising with venues, partners and suppliers, obtaining quotes, coordinating travel and logistics, working with production teams, preparing materials, producing risk assessments, and creation of event documentation such as briefs, schedules and post-event evaluations

• Represent CALM at Events, including acting as an Event Day Lead, and attending wider CALM events

• Work with the Challenge Events Manager and Event Fundraising Lead to develop our portfolio of events, contributing ideas, analysing performance, identifying opportunities and putting ideas into action

• Steward CALM’s Challenge Event Fundraisers effectively throughout their journey when supporting CALM, to ensure they feel appreciated and inspired to fundraise for us

• Be the friendly voice of CALM, responding to enquiries through the website or phone in a timely manner

• Proactively craft and send personalised emails to fundraisers to drive retention and satisfaction

• Help with the management and optimisation of Event email automated journeys used to steward participants in the lead up to and after their event

• Help to devise and manage our event marketing strategy 

• Deliver stewardship calls to Event Fundraisers - welcoming them to the team after sign up, wishing them good luck before their event, or offering them fundraising guidance and support 

• Work confidently across key income platforms to ensure accurate setup, coding and reporting of fundraising pages, campaigns and donations, including JustGiving and Enthuse.

• Support on the maintenance of relevant pages on the CALM website

• Analyse feedback from fundraisers via our post event surveys and identify areas for improvement

• Engage with Fundraisers on our CALM Facebook groups - sparking conversation and fostering a supportive community atmosphere

• Recruit and manage volunteers to support at events

• Work with the wider organisation to improve processes and data management

• Support in other areas of Public Fundraising as required, including community fundraising and individual giving.

Your profile 

Competencies

Essential

• A strong understanding of challenge event fundraising and event delivery

• Able to take initiative, manage a varied work load with great organisational skills

• Passion for fundraising and understanding of the importance of providing excellent supporter care by telephone, SMS, and email

• Confident making telephone calls, with a friendly and empathetic telephone manner 

• A creative mind and ability to problem-solve

• A self-starter, happy and able to develop areas of work that might not have been done before 

• Excellent IT skills

• Willing to work occasional out of hours and weekends as required

• Understanding of CALM, why people choose to support us

Experience

Essential

• Experience in event delivery (preferably from within the third sector)

• Experience in a fundraising role 

• Experience in a customer or supporter facing role, interacting with customers/supporters on a day to day basis

Desirable

• Experience working with a CRM database (preferably Salesforce)

• Experience working with fundraising platforms, such as Just Giving and Enthuse 

• Experience of using email marketing tools and managing email campaigns

• Experience of using G-suite

We have an exciting opportunity for two experienced Wellbeing Neurodivergence Specialists to join our innovative Children and Young People (CYP) Wellbeing Service, which serves as the central hub for all mental health referrals for young people in Brighton & Hove.

The service provides mild‑to‑moderate mental health support for children and young people aged 2–24 years living in Brighton & Hove.

We’re looking for accredited professionals from a CWP, EMHP or similar background, with proven experience delivering low‑intensity CBT interventions.

In this role you will be working with children and young people with ADHD and/or Autism, where neurodivergence is diagnosed or suspected, and presentations are mild to moderate. This is a low‑intensity, first‑line CBT offer, delivered through in‑person sessions and/or group work.

Key responsibilities include triaging referrals, completing wellbeing assessments, and delivering short‑term, evidence‑based treatment.

About you

You will have solid experience of delivering evidence-based, short term low-intervention therapy to Children and Young People (8-24) in a community setting. Along with substantive experience of working with Children and Young People (8-24) with suspected or diagnosed Neurodivergent conditions (ADHD and Autism).

You will already be accredited or eligible for accreditation under HCPC, BACP, BABCP, UKCP, BPS, PTUK or AFSP.

You are a strong team player, confident working under supervision, and able to safeguard young people while running groups or structured activities. You can communicate complex information clearly both verbally and in writing, while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team. 

A teaching or training qualification (e.g. Level 3 AET) would be an advantage, along with experience of delivering training groups.

About the role:

The Advance Prison Advocate will support sentenced women facing imminent release from custody, providing pre-release support; focused on Accommodation, Finance, debt & benefits, Family & significant others and Social inclusion.

The Prison Advocate will develop a referral pathway with the Offender Management team within the prison, for women to access the service and will work in partnership with the existing service providers operating within the prison. You will co-design a person-centred support and action plan with women accessing support, enabling you to support them to address their needs and any risks in relation to the interventions identified above including providing ‘through the gate support’. The role will combine a casework- based approach, along with a signposting and advice service for the women in custody.

You will have demonstrable experience and understanding of working with women in a challenging multi-agency environment, ideally working with prisoners and/or their families.

You will build strong relationships with the Pre Release teams to ensure clients are able to maintain or access suitable accommodation, finance, benefits and debt, family and social inclusion support including negotiating terms on behalf of the women. Ensure that interventions are responsive to and meet the needs of women from diverse and minoritised backgrounds. This, together with referrals to wider partner organisations in the community, will ensure additional support needs are addressed post-release and continuity of support exists

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

About You:

To be successful as the Advance Prison Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

Knowledge and experience of the criminal justice system obtained through academic study, experience of working in the criminal justice system (or closely associated social system).

The ability and experience as a caseworker delivering gender specific and trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of female adults in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons.

You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.

Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload including maintaining and updating records, remaining focused on action plan goals, and keeping to deadlines

You will have the ability to complete trauma informed, support and action plans in collaboration with the woman; to support in addressing their multiple and individual needs and enable them to engage with services, which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.

About The Bike Project

The Bike Project is an award-winning charity which refurbishes second hand bikes and donates them to refugees.  We were founded in 2013 by Jem Stein, after he struck up a friendship and found a bike for Adam, a Darfuri refugee who had fled his home in Sudan after war broke out.

The Bike Project has grown into a national operation with new CEO, hundreds of volunteers, a team of committed staff, an online bike shop and two workshops, one in London and one in Birmingham.

To date we have supported over 15,000 refugees and people seeking asylum by giving them a second-hand bike. In addition, we have supported hundreds through our programmes designed to build confidence and build friendships in the local community.

Role and Resonsibilties

This role oversees the securing and reporting of our Trusts and Foundation income, including working closely with colleagues to develop relevant, impactful and deliverable funding proposals and coordinate the stewardship of key trust and foundation relationships.

The role works closely with all colleagues to ensure a joined-up approach to income generation across the charity and our different supporter groups. 

Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in preparing and submitting successful funding applications and proposals to charitable trusts and foundations, with a track record of securing five and six figure gifts, ideally within the refugee’s sector. You will have experience of working with, and applying for funding from, some of the larger grant organisations.

You will be experienced in identifying suitable prospects, developing pipelines, and managing funder relationships, adopting a strategic approach when working with colleagues across the organisation.

Location and Hours

This is a hybrid role, with at least one day per week worked on site at our Brixton office and/or Deptford workshop, and the remaining hours worked remotely.

The role is part-time (0.6 FTE), equivalent to 3 days per week, and can be worked flexibly across either Monday–Wednesday or Tuesday–Thursday. Some occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

About the Project

Communities Prepared works with volunteers and communities across England to help them build the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. This includes supporting communities to plan for climate-related risks such as flooding, storms, heatwaves, and severe weather.

Despite the successes we have had through our programme to date, we are not currently reaching diverse enough audiences and too often there are people missing from the resilience sector. This needs to change. To address this we are now embarking on an exciting new UK-wide partnership programme funded through the National Lottery Community Fund’s Climate Action Fund over the next five years.

The programme responds to growing evidence that climate-related emergencies, including extreme heat, flooding, fire, cold and severe weather, disproportionately impact marginalised communities, while those same communities are often excluded from resilience planning and decision-making.

The programme brings together Equally Ours, Communities Prepared (part of Groundwork South), and the VCS Emergencies Partnership (VCSEP, part of the British Red Cross) to strengthen climate resilience by ensuring that communities experiencing discrimination and disadvantage are at the heart of climate preparedness, response, recovery and policy-making.

Through a rights-based and co-produced approach, the programme seeks to shift climate resilience policy and practice away from models that frame communities as “vulnerable”, and towards approaches grounded in agency, participation, equality and shared responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Project Officer, you will:

• Work with the project team to map stakeholders and co-develop a structured engagement plan to recruit and work with marginalised communities.
• Build a collaborative and trusting relationship with the partner organisations and other stakeholders for this project, ensuring this work meets their expectations and complements areas of the work programme led by others.
• Work with project participants and partners to co-design Communities Prepared material and delivery methods that are more accessible and relevant to diverse audiences.
• Lead on the delivery of resilience training and workshop sessions with diverse audiences, both in-person and online.
• Work with project participants and partners to co-design a train the trainer model that will enable diverse audiences to deliver resilience training within their own communities, amplifying reach and impact.

Working Days: Fixed Wednesdays and Saturdays. 5:00pm – 11:00pm

About the Role

The Mental Health Recovery Worker supports individuals within the community, to improve mental health and wellbeing, through focussed 1:1s and structured interventions. At times this may mean deescalating crisis.

The role will be part of a larger Recovery Lounge team made up of Mental Health Recovery Workers, Peer Support Workers and volunteers.

About the Recovery Lounge Service

Our Recovery Lounges offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment outside of normal working hours for those who feel in mental distress or crisis. The role will involve assessing needs and offering one to one support to service users to enable them to begin the process of improving their mental health and wellbeing and to providing clarity on services and pathways available in the area.

About You

The successful candidate will have experience of working with individuals experiencing mental health and wellbeing issues, experience of working in a small service within a wider organisation, including delivering a service against performance targets and have the ability to Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with a wide range of people. They will have good communication, motivational and negotiation skills and understand the wellbeing needs of and working with people with mental health needs, including those from culturally diverse communities.
