Chance for Childhood has a vision of a world in which every childhood is filled with safety, belonging and play. We fight for children across Africa to lead independent lives through urgent action in education, health and economic resilience.

We work in four African countries (Ghana, the DRC, Rwanda, and Uganda) and we are carving out a niche as experts in inclusive education and safe spaces for children in vulnerable situations.

In 2022, we launched the #OverExposed campaign to advocate for ethical imagery and storytelling in the fundraising and marketing materials of international development charities. In 2025, the campaign is still going strong and providing opportunities to keep this important topic on the agenda in the development sector.

Your role.

As the Communications Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the charity’s communications strategy to raise awareness, increase engagement, and grow support for our vital work. You will manage all external communications across multiple platforms, including social media, website, email marketing, and events, ensuring a consistent and compelling brand voice. You will work closely with the Individual Giving Manager and Fundraising Officer to drive impactful campaigns. Additionally, you will play an essential role in promoting and protecting the charity's brand.

Duties:  

1. Social Media and Content Creation:

• Plan, write, and schedule content for all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok), ensuring timely and engaging posts.
• Manage and monitor social media engagement, responding to comments and messages.
• Develop and implement a strategy for growing social media followers and increasing engagement.
• Create high-quality multimedia content (stories, infographics, videos) to support campaigns and events.

2. Website and Email Marketing:

• Oversee and manage content updates on the charity’s website, ensuring it is up-to-date, user-friendly, and SEO optimised.
• Write compelling blog posts, news stories, and case studies for the website.
• Work with the Individual Giving Manager to develop and manage email marketing campaigns, including newsletters, donor updates, and appeals, to drive engagement and donations.
• Use analytics tools to track and report on the performance of email and web campaigns, optimising content for better results.

3. Campaigns, Advocacy and Events:

• Collaborate with the Individual Giving Manager and Fundraising Officer to develop and execute communications strategies for fundraising campaigns and events.
• Support the promotion of Challenge Events through creative content and social media.
• Create campaign materials and event collateral, ensuring alignment with the charity’s brand.
• Advocate for ethical storytelling practices by leading our #OverExposed campaign aimed at other charities in the sector

4. Brand Management:

• Ensure all communications align with the charity’s brand guidelines and tone of voice.
• Act as a brand guardian, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels and materials.
• Work with external designers, photographers, and agencies as needed to produce high-quality branded materials.

5. Team Collaboration:

• Provide guidance, support, and feedback to enhance the confidence of local project teams to produce quality communications, in alignment with Chance for Childhood’s shifting power approach and broader 2030 strategy.
• Work with programme staff to gather key project updates and ensure a steady stream of impactful stories from our work to be used in fundraising and communications materials
• Collaborate with other teams across the organisation to support cross-functional projects and activities.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders including programmes, finance, fundraising and Trustees to oversee the writing, design and publication of the Annual Report

6. Monitoring and Evaluation:

• Regularly track and analyse communications and marketing metrics across all platforms, adjusting strategies based on performance.
• Provide reports on social media, website, and campaign performance to senior leadership.

• Motivated by working towards a wide range of positive outcomes for children in vulnerable situations, including facilitating access to physiotherapy and rehabilitation for children with disabilities, educational opportunities for displaced and conflict-affected children, and developing sustainable livelihoods for families in poverty
• Proven experience in a communications role, ideally in the charity or nonprofit sector.
• Strong copywriting skills with the ability to create engaging content across multiple platforms.
• Experience managing social media platforms, scheduling content, and growing engagement.
• Knowledge of website content management systems (WordPress) and SEO principles.
• Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) 
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience working on brand management and promotional campaigns.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage a remote team member.

Desirable:

• Experience working with international teams and understanding of crosscultural communication.
• Basic design skills (e.g., Canva,) for content creation.
• Knowledge of Google Analytics and social media management tools (e.g. Buffer).

nia has been delivering services to women, girls and children who have been subjected to sexual and domestic violence and abuse, including prostitution, since 1975. The organisation has three main aims: to provide services for women, girls and children who have experienced men’s violence; contributing to ending male violence against women and girls, and to inform and influence policy and public awareness.

About the service

East London Rape Crisis provides free, confidential specialist support for women and girls who have been raped or experienced any other form of sexual violence or abuse at any time in their lives, regardless of whether or not they have reported to the police. We offer confidential and independent support.  Services include advocacy, emotional and practical support, one-to-one counselling and group work.

About the role

The Rapid Response ISVA provides proactive support and advocacy service to female survivors of sexual violence aged 16+ who are engaging with the criminal justice system. This role will have a focus on supporting survivors who have been subjected to group-based Childhood Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, and whose criminal justice cases have been reopened under Operation Beaconport/Pintar. You will work as part of a growing Feminist Rape Crisis service that is developing to meet the needs of women and girls. These posts involve travel across East London, and a hybrid model of home, outreach and office working.

We’re looking for highly organised and self-motivated women who are passionate about ending violence against women.  You’ll have a ‘can-do’ approach and demonstrable commitment to nia’s feminist approach to supporting women and girls. We’re seeking a Fundraising Officer to support the growth of all our programmes, services, and campaigns. Primarily working on a new area of trusts and foundations fundraising, including researching prospects. You will be responsible for making grant applications and updating funders, as well as providing overall support to the wider fundraising team at Humanists UK.

What you'll be doing

The fundraising team is responsible for income generation including donors, campaigns, grants, and exploring new ways we can sustain and grow our fundraising. This includes planning and leading giving campaigns; donor and funder stewardship (working with the Chief Executive’s Office); developing and maintaining an income pipeline; and identifying new opportunities to diversify our income streams.

Key Tasks & Activities

Implementing and further developing Humanists UK’s grants, trusts, and foundations fundraising strategy, with key tasks including:

• Researching new funding prospects

• Maintaining and growing our funding pipeline.

• Supporting colleagues across the organisation to develop, bid for, and report on appropriate projects for funding

• Writing clear and compelling funding bids, proposals, and appeals, and produce timely, high-quality reports for funders

• Maintaining accurate records of applications, reporting schedules, project milestones, and grant income using the charity’s CRM system.

• Working with the finance team to make sure grants are administered efficiently and all income is accurately recorded

• Monitoring progress against targets, providing regular updates and income reports to the Head of Fundraising

• Supporting continuous improvement by maintaining effective systems for tracking and evaluating trust fundraising activity

• Keeping informed about developments and sector trends in fundraising

A Rocha UK is a unique Christian nature conservation charity that mobilises Christians and churches to care for the natural world. We equip and inspire Christians to enjoy, nurture, and defend nature; and we run the Eco Church and related eco denominational schemes, such as Eco Dioceses. Our Conservation work is a core component of the project portfolio at A Rocha UK. We manage our own nature reserve at Foxearth Meadows in Essex and manage the Partners in Action programme, which consists of a network of over 60 organisations and sites managing over 20,000 acres of land for nature. The conservation team is also responsible for oversight of our scientific work and related data. Currently we are working on a trial scheme to assess climate resilient tree planting techniques at four locations around the UK.

Purpose of role:

This role will make a significant contribution to the efficient running of the Conservation Department by supporting the Head of Conservation in their leadership of the programme and the wider Conservation team in the smooth running of the Partners in Action programme. This year A Rocha UK will be undertaking a strategic review of our conservation work and the Conservation Team Administrator will play a role in supporting the admin function behind the review process. The post will play a key role in the facilitation of good communication between the Conservation Team and other departments, to ensure efficient and effective joint working. Are you a young *Christian who is passionate about issues of justice and peace? Do you want to explore the intersection of faith, policy, and politics, and potentially pursue a career in one of these fields? The Joint Public Issues Team (JPIT) is recruiting to two full time paid internship positions to start in September 2026.

Interns work as part of a small ecumenical team on a diverse range of tasks and initiatives including communications, policy, campaigning and supporter engagement, contributing to the public advocacy and political engagement work of the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches.

JPIT is a partnership between the Baptist Union of Great Britain, the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church, and the Church of Scotland is an associate partner. Its purpose is to help the Churches to work together for peace and justice through listening, learning, praying, speaking and acting on public policy issues. It is a team which brings together around ten staff working across the denominations. In recent years it has focused on issues around poverty, the economy, refugees and migration, the environment, peace and conflict, and politics.

These internships provide opportunities to develop skills in campaigning, communications, research, and policy within a dynamic team environment. There will be opportunities for professional and personal learning and development to equip the intern for further employment after their time on the internship. Whilst we are looking for some evidence of certain skills and experience, candidates will have the opportunity to develop relevant skills during their time in the role.

They are full time paid roles with fixed-term contracts to the end of August 2027, and a salary of £26,936.00 per year (we are committed to paying at least the London Living Wage). The roles are based in the Methodist Connexional Team which offers hybrid working arrangements, with an expectation of spending at least two days a week at an office base in central London.

Action for Global Health is a membership network of over 50 organisations working to improve global health. Its vision is a world where everyone can access quality healthcare without financial hardship, achieving true health equity.

AfGH’s strategy, extended to 2029, aims to ensure that stronger commitments from the UK Government help more people worldwide access affordable, high-quality healthcare suited to their needs. The network works by bringing together member organisations, civil society groups, and people with lived experience of health inequality - especially from low- and middle-income countries - to influence UK policy. It acts as a key link between global health civil society and government departments such as the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and the Department of Health and Social Care, guided by its 10 health-equity principles.

AfGH is an independent network hosted by STOPAIDS, which provides legal, financial, HR, and administrative support.

HorsePower, the Museum of The King’s Royal Hussars, is embarking on an ambitious transformation. We are developing a bold new “Museum of the Future” that will reinterpret over 300 years of regimental history through engaging, modern and interactive displays.

We are now seeking an experienced, motivated Fundraising Manager to play a pivotal role in raising £100,000 by mid-2027 to fund the redesign phase and to help establish strong, sustainable fundraising practice for the museum’s next chapter. About HorsePower

Located at Peninsula Barracks, Winchester, HorsePower tells the story of The King’s Royal Hussars from 1715 to the present day, spanning India, Waterloo, the World Wars and modern conflict. The museum holds a fascinating collection and unique archives and is now launching a five-year strategic plan to become one of the most vibrant and accessible small military museums in the South of England.

The Role

This is a new role with scope to shape both strategy and delivery. You will lead on trusts, foundations, corporates and major donors, working closely with the Fundraising Trustee and Curator to:

• Build and manage a strong pipeline of funding opportunities.
• Write compelling grant applications and major funding proposals.
• Cultivate relationships with individual and corporate supporters.
• Put in place effective fundraising systems, processes and reporting.
• Develop long-term relationships for future capital funding appeals.

You will be confident working independently, comfortable in a small organisation and motivated by building something with lasting value.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit current fundraising activity, supporters and data
• Research, develop and submit high-quality trust and foundation applications
• Identify and cultivate prospective major donors and corporate partners
• Support stewardship, recognition and donor communications
• Maintain accurate CRM records and GDPR-compliant processes
• Produce concise monthly progress reports for trustees

About you – Essential.  You will bring:

• At least three years’ successful fundraising experience (trusts, foundations, major donors and/or corporate partnerships)
• A strong track record of securing significant gifts and grants, ideally within culture, heritage or the wider nonprofit sector
• Excellent written and numeracy skills and experience of crafting persuasive funding proposals
• Confidence building relationships with funders, trustees and senior stakeholders
• Highly organised working practices and strong attention to detail

Desirable - Experience in museums or heritage, an interest in military history, and a creative, entrepreneurial approach to income generation.

Breck Foundation

Breck Foundation is at the forefront of efforts to safeguard children and young people online. Our organisation was founded in 2014 in response to the tragic loss of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. Our work aims to prevent this from ever happening again. Our work saves lives.  We reach thousands of children and young people in schools and other community settings with Breck's story every year. The Role

We are looking for an experienced Trusts and Grants Fundraiser to support the work of the Breck Foundation on a freelance basis.

This role is offered for approximately two days per week, providing flexibility alongside the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the development of our fundraising function.

If you are highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing competing deadlines - and motivated by making a real difference in keeping young people safe online - this could be an excellent opportunity.

Working closely with the CEO, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering our trusts and grants activity. The focus of the role will be on researching opportunities, developing a strong funding pipeline, and writing high-quality, compelling applications that clearly communicate our impact and vision.

This is a collaborative role, with the CEO leading on overall fundraising strategy and funder relationships. You will support the delivery of that strategy through bid writing, pipeline development, and contributing insight into funding opportunities and direction.

There is genuine potential for this role to grow over time, as part of our longer-term ambition to expand and strengthen a wider income generation function.

Experiences:

• Proven experience in trusts and grants fundraising, or a similar income generation role
• Experience of working towards income targets and managing relationships with a range of stakeholders
• Demonstrable success in researching, writing, and securing funding through high-quality applications and proposals
• Experience of developing project budgets and presenting financial information to funders
• Experience of using a CRM system to manage pipelines, analyse data, and report on activity
