Family Action & the Role’s Impact:
At Family Action we support people through change, challenge or crisis. It’s what we’ve done for over 150 years. We protect children, support young people and adults and offer direct, practical help to families and communities.
We see first-hand the power of family to shape lives, for better or worse, so we speak up for the
importance of family in national and local policymaking, amplify family voices and represent the changing needs of families in the UK today.
This is an exciting opportunity for a therapist who wants to make a difference to the lives of children and young people, 11yrs to 25yrs, of African, Caribbean heritage in City and Hackney
Young black people disproportionately report inequality, racism and discrimination on a routine basis. Many ACH children, young people and families are succeeding in Hackney, however young people from ethnic minority communities are over-represented in terms of child protection plans, looked after children and school exclusions and inequalities in health. If you feel passionate about making a difference in this area we would like to hear from you.
Our Growing Minds Service provides practical, emotional and mental health wellbeing support to children and young people aged 11-25 from African and Caribbean Heritage (ACH) communities; focusing on two key transition points in their lives (primary to secondary school and childhood to adulthood). The service is designed to increase the capacity of ACH communities to harness potential, identify and support children and young people’s mental health needs, and to establish a clear pathway into direct support.
We are seeking candidates from African and Caribbean Heritage in order to reach out to children, young people and young adults in these communities. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.
Main responsibilities
As a therapist you will be responsible for undertaking assessments, delivering 1-1, time limited, outcome focussed sessions with young people for up to 24 weeks (depending on their assessment evaluation) and evaluating therapeutic interventions for young people. You will also undertake associated case management and administrative work. You will be required to offer evening sessions until 8pm at least one evening a week (on Monday or Thursday) as part of your working hours and there is also the potential to develop and facilitate group work.
Main Requirements
As a Psychotherapist/ Creative Art Psychotherapist/Counsellor with relevant post qualification practice you will work collaboratively community organisations/CAMHS and other partners to reduce barriers to mental health support to children, young people and young adults from the ACH community. You will work with young people on a 1:1 basis, with parent/carers during assessment, and group work. You will undertake holistic assessments, and hold a caseload providing outcome focussed interventions that support resilience and emotional wellbeing. In addition you will be knowledgeable about the wider health determinants which impact on ACH communities and barriers for children, young people and young adults achieving positive outcomes. You will be a warm, empathic individual with an ability to relate to young people and work as part of a team.
We are committed to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion in all that we do and welcome applications from all sections of the community. We particularly welcome applications from male candidates, LGBTQIA+ candidates and candidates with disabilities because we are committed to increasing the representation of these groups at Family Action. Right now, Gaza is one of the hardest places in the world to be a child. As of July 2026, UNICEF reported that more than 21,000 children had been killed and around 44,500 injured since October 2023. Over 58,000 have lost one or both parents or primary caregivers, while around 700,000 have missed almost three years of formal education.
Established in 2024, Children Not Numbers (CNN) is a medico-legal charity committed to the health, safety, education and rehabilitation of Gaza’s children. Working alongside colleagues in Gaza and more than 100 volunteers worldwide, including surgeons, medics and lawyers, the charity provides medical care, medical evacuations, education, psychological support and international advocacy. Within its first year, CNN evacuated more than 300 children and their companions, supported over 650 children through its multidisciplinary clinical team, delivered maternal healthcare to more than 600 women, educated over 350 pupils through its primary school, provided holistic care for 71 orphans and distributed more than 1,000 food aid baskets.
Reporting to a Co-Founder and Director, the Senior Communications Manager will lead Children Not Numbers’ social media strategy and day-to-day digital communications, using ethical storytelling to grow audiences, strengthen supporter engagement and help drive fundraising. Help young people with an affinity for mathematics thrive.
We're looking for a Data + Insights Manager to build shared data systems, analyse national data and help a network of schools make better decisions.
This is an opportunity to join a small, ambitious charity at an exciting stage of its development. You'll help schools collect and use data more effectively, develop shared systems that save time and improve practice, and build the insight that helps schools, funders and U-Maths make better decisions.
If you enjoy turning real-world data into practical insight and want your work to have a national impact, we'd love to hear from you.
Why U-Maths?
U-Maths is the national charity for University Maths Schools.
Our vision is that every young person with an affinity for mathematics can thrive and succeed.
Our mission is to advance excellence and equity in mathematics education by strengthening and growing the national network of University Maths Schools.
There are currently nine state-funded University Maths Schools, each established in partnership with a leading university and specialising in mathematics and the mathematical sciences for students aged 16–19. The network continues to grow, with two further schools in Nottingham and Durham due to open.
Together, these schools are helping more young people – particularly those from backgrounds currently under-represented in the mathematical sciences – to access an outstanding mathematics education and progress to ambitious futures.
Why this role?
Schools are stronger when they work together.
By developing shared data systems, high-quality analysis and robust evidence at national level, U-Maths helps every University Maths School understand its work, strengthen its impact and reduce unnecessary duplication.
As our Data + Insights Manager, you'll play a central role in making that happen.
About the role
You'll lead U-Maths' work on data and insight across the network.
You'll help schools collect, manage and use data more effectively, develop and support a shared outreach CRM, produce high-quality reporting for schools and funders, and strengthen the evidence that helps U-Maths understand and improve its impact.

You might have developed your skills in education, the charity sector, widening participation, evaluation, operations, CRM implementation or another setting where careful use of data matters. We're more interested in the skills, judgement and approach you bring than in where you have gained them.
We're looking for someone who:
Why join us?
You'll be joining a small national team with the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to one of the UK's most successful educational innovations.
We offer:
We're aiming for the successful candidate to start on 1 December 2026, with some flexibility.

We are Pancreatic Cancer UK. We go above and beyond for everyone affected by this disease.

We bring more break throughs through research, more change through campaigning and more support through our expert nurses.

We want our workforce to achieve their potential, understand their contribution and feel proud of their impact by creating a culture and organisation that is genuinely inclusive by advancing equality, diversity, inclusion, and belonging through our policies and practices.
We believe diversity drives great outcomes by encouraging the different points of view that come from a diverse workforce. We want to hear from and engage with people whose experience of dealing with this disease may be very different depending on their individual circumstances and background. We can think of no better way to do this than by making sure this role fully represents our intent; therefore, we are especially keen to consider applications from suitable applicants who consider themselves to be in areas that appear underrepresented within the charity sector.
