For over 20 years, Research in Practice has been at the forefront of supporting evidence-informed practice in adult social care. We are now looking for a passionate and experienced Research and Development Officer to join our adults’ team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled facilitator with strong experience in adult social care (or a related sector, e.g. housing, homelessness, mental health or criminal justice) who is motivated to make a real impact. While the role requires a solid understanding of research and its application, it is not a primary research post—instead, the focus is on translating evidence into meaningful learning and development opportunities.

You will play a key role in designing and delivering high-quality learning experiences, including programmes, full-day workshops, webinars, and events, working with diverse audiences such as senior leaders and practitioners.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Coach to join our new Independent Approved Premises (IAP) covering the night shift on a rolling rota. You will play a key role in supporting our residents who have left prison and are based within a residential setting to reintegrate into the community. You will develop and engage with our residents to produce tailored support plans which support their individual needs in successful rehabilitation and reintegration within the community. You will identify their needs, goals and skills, and then support and motivate them to achieve their potential. The service holds a strong focus on public protection and effective risk management.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents and participants at all times
• Engaging with residents throughout the night, ensuring they are adhering to their license conditions. This may include planning activities to engage with them such as movie nights, games nights, and other activities applicable
• Be a valued and reliable member of the team on the night shift, completing handovers for day colleagues for a seamless service
• Building trusting professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through tailored one to one sessions, group sessions, in and out of service activities, and general wellbeing check ins

Main Responsibilities

The principal responsibility of an Associate Organiser is their own development: learning the craft of Community Organising under the guidance of an experienced Community Organiser. You will work intensively with a small number of member organisations under close supervision, growing your experience, skill and responsibility incrementally. An Associate Organiser is working towards becoming a competent practitioner of the craft of broad-based community organising methodology, and focuses on the building of relational power, the recruitment and retention of dues-paying institutions, the development of leaders, the strengthening of member institutions, leader-led public actions, and the winning of systemic change.

This role is particularly to organise with Be Well Organisations in Greenwich, Bexley and Bromley. Be Well Organisations may be faith, education, or community institutions, tackling isolation and poor mental health by: 1. Building relationships, 2. Signposting and offering practical support, and 3. Taking action on structural and systemic inequalities and injustices. But you may also work on other campaign priorities and responsibilities as needed across the team.

We are looking for people who are angry about injustice, who believe ordinary people have the power to make change, and who are motivated to learn the craft of Broad-based Organising. The role is hugely varied, and involves working across the two boroughs, in different institutions and context, and with a lot of independence.

Working as an Associate Organiser in South London Citizens, your main responsibilities will include:

Build relational power to further the goals of CUK

· Actively participate in the development of a comprehensive power analysis appropriate to the desired sphere of influence for each project/assignment

· Establish working relationships with identified leaders and demonstrate ability to move them into action, including as part of the wider alliance; taking the initiative to establish new relationships

· Conduct 15-20 weekly one-to-ones to develop relationships with leaders and understand their concerns.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Principal Commercial Solicitor to lead on commercial legal cases for the Trust to enable us to operate in a compliant and effective manner.

The Role:
•    Lead the effective deliver of a varied caseload including commercial sponsorship, procurement, collaboration and intellectual property cases.

We’re looking for a Natural Estate Manager to lead and deliver a busy but rewarding programme of conservation work across Gilwell Park, helping to improve habitats, boost biodiversity and create more opportunities for people to connect with nature. Guided by our new 10-year woodland management plan and best-practice conservation methods, you’ll take a hands-on approach to estate maintenance and habitat improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities as our Natural Estate Manager

• Lead practical grounds and woodland work at Gilwell Park, supporting habitat improvements and estate maintenance.
• Use and maintain machinery and tools safely, carrying out inspections, repairs and general site upkeep.
• Lead and support volunteers, corporate groups and young people in practical conservation activities and skills sharing.
• Support conservation partnerships and nature recovery projects, including habitat work, monitoring and reporting.
• Champion nature regeneration, maintain high health and safety standards, and support events, training and wider site activities for Scouts and Scout Adventures.

 

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

• Experience in practical conservation, habitat management and estate maintenance, with good knowledge of woodland and parkland management.
• Confidence using and maintaining machinery, tools and equipment safely, with experience in health and safety and risk assessments.
• Experience leading volunteers and skills sessions with people of all ages, including young people, and working independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication and project management skills, with experience supporting conservation projects, partnerships and reporting.
• A proactive, hands-on and enthusiastic approach, with a passion for conservation and helping young people connect with nature outdoors.
• A full UK driving licence and relevant countryside, woodland or estate management qualifications.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Senior Press Officer to work as part of the national PR team for the Woodland Trust to shape and create stories, quotes and press releases.

The Role:
•    This role will focus particularly on policy and political influencing work, and public facing campaigns, creating media exposure for the Trust’s expertise on woods and trees.
•    This role will work closely with internal teams such as our campaigns, policy and external affairs teams to strategically plan and secure media coverage to influence decision makers and mobilise the public.

About This Role

This is an exciting new opportunity to be part of a project within our Wraparound Service in the UK. As Psychological Therapist, key aspects of your role will be:

• Facilitation of Reflective Practice for residential staff to help support therapeutically informed practice, staff resilience and emotional wellbeing.
• Direct support to Children in Care and Care Leavers to improve their emotional health and well-being, and to provide any additional support identified as needed by statutory services to those with mental health needs.
