About Better Society Capital (BSC):
Better Society Capital (BSC) is the UK's leading social impact-led investor. Our mission is to grow the amount of money invested in tackling social issues and inequalities in the UK; we do this by investing ourselves and enabling others to invest for impact too.
Since 2012, we have helped grow the UK's social impact investment market thirteen-fold, to more than £11 billion, proving that impact investing can scale when social outcomes and investment opportunity are genuinely aligned. We have committed more than £1 billion of our own capital to social impact investments and today hold a live portfolio of over 100 across the UK, primarily made into funds spanning early-stage and mature positions, all working towards lasting impact for the people and communities they serve.
We're now delivering our 2026–2030 strategy: mobilising £20–30 billion in capital to positively impact 15–20 million lives across the UK over the next decade. We're focusing our expertise and capital on four challenge areas: housing, economic opportunity, climate and energy, and health. These have been chosen because each combines urgent social need, proven investment models and a clear role for BSC to play.
This is BSC's next chapter. Building on everything we've proven since 2012, we're scaling with greater ambition and sharper focus, and looking for people who want to help shape how we get there.
The Opportunity:
We are recruiting an Investment Manager – Portfolio to take a leading role in the delivery of our existing portfolio including on special situations and exits.
You will take ownership of performance and manager relationships across a broad portfolio of social impact investments. You will build relationships with senior leaders at our fund managers and take responsibility for how these investments perform against their financial, social impact and systems change goals. You will also oversee several treasury holdings, held for financial return and sustainable outcomes, that support how we manage liquidity.
Across the wider social impact investment portfolio, you will take a leading role in its most demanding and consequential moments: acting as our specialist resource for complex special situations and exits, working alongside asset class teams to protect and recover financial value and impact, and shaping how BSC triages, manages and learns from these situations.
This is an opportunity to build a distinctive skillset across every asset class in which we invest, from portfolio management and manager relationships to restructuring, workouts and complex negotiation, developing cross-asset-class judgement that few comparable roles offer. We will create opportunities for you to contribute to new investments and strategic projects as our 2026–2030 strategy takes shape.
Our excellence in impact investing practice is recognised externally. In 2025 and 2026, BSC was placed on the BlueMark Global Practice Leaderboard after ranking in the top quartile across all 8 dimensions of the Operating Principles for Impact Management. You will help carry that standard forward.
We invest in our people as seriously as we invest our portfolio. You will accelerate your growth through hands-on experience, tailored training and collaboration with sector-leading specialists as well as gaining direct exposure to our Investment Committee and senior leadership.

- Over time, contribute to due diligence of potential new investments and strategic projects aligned with our 2026-2030 strategy.
Help lead the next phase of our market-leading impact investment approach
- Oversee and embed continuous improvement and learning from special situations and exits, sharpening how BSC manages risk across the portfolio.
- Lead and contribute to parts of our market-leading impact investing practice, with colleagues across BSC and with external partners.

Centrepoint, the UK's leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for an experienced Senior Programme Manager to lead the delivery of one of the most significant transformation programmes in our organisation's history.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Operations, you'll play a pivotal role in driving our Big Change Programme (BCP), ensuring complex projects are delivered successfully, organisational change is embedded, and our investment in digital transformation delivers lasting benefits across Centrepoint.
About us
We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills to help them move into education, training and employment. Our ambition is to end youth homelessness by 2037.
Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people every year.
The Big Change Programme is transforming the way Centrepoint works. Through new systems, improved processes and modern digital ways of working, we're building a more efficient organisation that allows our colleagues to spend more time focusing on what matters most - supporting young people.
Centrepoint operates a hybrid working model. The requirement is a minimum of 50% of your working week in the office. For most full-time colleagues, this means attending the office for five days over a two-week period (e.g. two days one week and three days the next). For colleagues on different contracts, this will be adjusted accordingly.
About you
You'll be an experienced programme leader with a proven track record of delivering large-scale organisational transformation and complex change programmes. You'll thrive in fast-paced environments, be comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and know how to bring people together around a shared vision.

- Experience implementing organisational change that improves systems, processes and ways of working.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging updates for a range of audiences.
- A collaborative leadership style and a passion for continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing
As Senior Programme Manager, you'll provide strategic leadership for Centrepoint's Big Change Programme, ensuring projects remain aligned to organisational priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.
You'll:
- Lead the planning, delivery and governance of a complex portfolio of transformation projects.
- Manage the programme budget, timeline, risks and resource planning. Ensure there is an appropriate structure for overseeing individual project management of budget and delivery to time.
- Develop and maintain programme reporting for senior leadership, trustees and governance boards.
- Drive high-quality programme management standards, ensuring appropriate controls, business cases and change management processes are in place.
- Work closely with project managers, suppliers and technology partners to deliver successful system implementations.
- Build strong relationships across Centrepoint, ensuring colleagues are engaged and supported throughout change.
- Help shape future digital and organisational transformation, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Champion collaboration, learning and best practice across project delivery.
- Ensure the BCP is connected to wider change initiatives across Centrepoint.
Why join Centrepoint?
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of one of the UK's leading charities. You'll join an ambitious organisation committed to improving the lives of young people while helping transform how we operate.
