Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join Kew’s successful Trusts and Foundations team for a 12-month fixed-term period, to help Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew realise its goal to help end the extinction crisis and contribute to a world where nature is protected, valued by all, and managed sustainably. The Development Officer will help to maximise income from trusts and foundations and support the busy team to engage and steward new and existing donors to Kew.

The Development Officer will support the day-to-day delivery of the Trusts and Foundations income stream. Responsibilities include writing compelling funding proposals and reports, managing a portfolio of funders, supporting the Trusts and Foundations team on higher value proposals and donor stewardship, including with events and visits to the Gardens, and maintaining donor records. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across Development and RBG Kew to help deliver a world class fundraising function.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent writing skills and an eye for detail who would like to build a career in Development. Our ideal candidate will feel comfortable working in a busy and fast-paced office environment and possess strong organisational skills. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of people.

Interviews are due to take place w/c 21st September.

This role is based at Kew with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements.

Join us on our journey as protectors of the world’s plants and fungi.
