This is an exciting role within the Army Cadet Adventurous Training team responsible for ensuring all support elements are in place to facilitate the AT service for the Army Cadets and Combined Cadet Force.

We are looking for a training professional to bring their skills, enthusiasm, and personal credibility to the team to assist with strategic planning, budget management and HR matters. You will line manage the CCAT Facilities and Logistics Officers.

In conjunction with the CCAT Training Officer you will support the Centre Managers with planning and delivery of courses and expeditions.

From time to time, you will be required to deputise for the Head of AT or the Centre Managers which may involve travel throughout the UK and overseas, working some evenings, bank holidays and weekends.

Essential Skills

· Good level of general education (English, Maths and IT).

· Hold a level 3 qualification in leadership and management.

· UK driving licence (Cat B).

· Experience of managing a small team.

· Exceptional IT skills and extensive use of MS365.

· Experience of organising events, working with internal and external partners.

· Experience of supporting and mentoring.

· Demonstrable success in establishing effective working relationships across a range of organisations at all levels.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Tree Procurement Officer to support and maintain our tree procurement processes and needs.

The Role:
•    Support in maintaining and developing growing contracts.
•    Fulfil stock requirements, advise stock users and requistioner's as needed and support to monitor and evaluate stock capacity against objectives and targets. 
•    Support with supplier audits, liaising with nurseries to maintain compliance with audit actions.
•    Support internal buyers with procurement activities such as drafting and administration of tenders and associated sourcing processes.
•    Ensure stakeholders are informed and kept up to date on the Trusts expectations in relation to biosecurity, quality assurance standards, guidelines in relation to tree health and Forest Reproductive Material. 
•    Maintain accurate systems and records to ensure we operate in a consistent and transparent manner. 
•    This is a hybrid position with a mix of home working, and from our head office in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Head office attendance would be required no more than once a month on average. 
•    This role is advertised as full-time/part-time, 37.5 hours per week, however we would consider applications from those wanting reduced hours.

The Candidate:
•    Experience in procurement practices with the ability to ensure adherence and up to date practice.

Experience and Skill

• Demonstrable evidence of building and delivering multi-year culture and inclusion and diversity roadmaps with measurable outcomes in complex organisations.
• Demonstrated mastery of listening and insight methodologies, including survey design, driver analysis, segmentation and workforce lifecycle analytics, translating insight into clear, actionable priorities.
• Deep expertise in inclusive leadership and systemic inclusion levers across policy, process, behaviours and environment, with a strong bias toward practical education, habit change and sustainable impact.
• Proven experience designing governance frameworks, KPIs and benefits realisation measures, with regular reporting and assurance to Executive teams and Boards.

Shannon Trust Prison Facilitator (bank staff)

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes across a number of prisons.

To ensure the continuation of our programmes during times of staff absence, we are now seeking to recruit a Prison Facilitator on a bank working basis to work across the South Central (HMP Bullingdon and HMP Aylesbury). Working closely with prisons and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will support with the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme in the area, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

You will have experience working within prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships quickly and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. You will also have a willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, to provide short or long term cover within the prisons in this area.

This role will be prison-based. This is a bank role and so the number of days to be worked will vary and are not guaranteed. Join Our Team: Volunteering Leader

We’re excited to welcome a new Volunteering Leader at our North West location

Working Hours & Location 

This role follows a 37 hours, over a 7 day working pattern. The post holder will also be required to work an annualised hours system which includes working any 5 days out of 7 including statutory holidays. They will also be part of a 24-hour operational standby team responsible for providing emergency cover for the waterway. 

The Volunteering Leader will be based at Calveley, Tarporley Hub. Working along the Middlewich Branch, Llangollen and Shropshire Union Canals.

Role Overview 

This is an exciting opportunity, which offers a great variety of activities and tasks from day to day. You will be the public face of the Trust, working extremely closely with volunteers and with members of the public who visit and use our waterways. Your work will be a combination of day-to-day routine tasks and more exciting and involved project work. You will lead volunteers and the team to enable them to work safely and efficiently and help to foster a safe, secure and vibrant waterway network, where visitors are delighted with their experience. The role includes leading and attending events to publicise the work of the trust, promote our activities and recruit new volunteers. 

Key Responsibilities

• Working outside, undertake on-the-job organisation, control and leadership of volunteer groups, volunteer task days, volunteer lock keepers and our in-house team.
• Leading and attending events to publicise the work of the trust, promote our activities and recruit new volunteers.
• Delivering works planned to be conducted by our volunteer teams and our local team.
• Develop volunteering opportunities on our locks.
• Deliver training to volunteers in accordance with set standards
• Identify opportunities for volunteers and update records of work and time delivered
• Ensure all equipment (PPE, plant, materials etc.) are appropriate for the task, in good condition and are used correctly.
• Prepare appropriate safe systems of work, induct volunteers onsite and manage safe delivery.
• Support communication within the team including sharing relevant corporate messages and provide feedback from the volunteers to the Area Operations Manager in order to enhance the planning of works.
• Active involvement in the day-to-day tasks of the team and volunteers e.g. lock keeping, water control, vegetation management, small projects, planned maintenance and also actively assist the Area Operations Manager in the planning of tasks. Ensure that environmental and heritage issues are taken into consideration in all work that is undertaken.
• Delivering pre planned maintenance of structures and undertaking minor repairs as part of a small team.
• Recording works completed and celebrating volunteer contributions.

About you

We are looking for an organised, proactive, engaging volunteering leader to support the Area Operations Manager. You will provide guidance to a growing number of active volunteers and our in-house team that helps maintain, conserve and improve the environment and heritage of the waterway network for local communities and visitors to enjoy.

Are you a positive, solutions-focused professional with a passion for preventing homelessness and reducing reoffending? If you’re driven by supporting meaningful change for people involved in the criminal justice system, this could be the ideal role for you. As a Housing Interventions Officer, you’ll be based primarily at HMP Parc, working side-by-side with Probation resettlement colleagues and directly with men in custody and on release. Occasional travel to HMP Cardiff, Swansea, Usk or Prescoed may be required depending on service need. You’ll deliver housing-focused interventions that prevent homelessness, improve access to accommodation and support successful resettlement into the community.

What you’ll be doing

• Deliver 1-to-1 housing advice and interventions within the prison environment
• Complete holistic housing needs assessments and develop clear, structured action plans
• Prevent homelessness by securing and sustaining suitable accommodation
• Source private rented accommodation (HMOs, shared housing, studios and 1-beds)
• Liaise with landlords and agents, including negotiating rent and tenancy terms
• Ensure properties meet legal, health & safety and Rent Smart Wales requirements
• Work closely with Prison, Probation and housing partners to manage risk and achieve targets
• Encourage engagement with Forward Connect and other appropriate support services

What we’re looking for

• Ability to develop support plans to help people sustain tenancies

This is a hands-on facilitation role where you’ll deliver engaging, inclusive and consistent learning across the organisation—helping staff build the therapeutic knowledge and practical skills they need to support clients effectively.

Working closely with the L&D Manager, you’ll deliver training across virtual, hybrid and face-to-face formats, ensuring learning is accessible, well-timed, and aligned with operational needs. Your work will span everything from mandatory and compliance training to induction, EDI, leadership and management development, as well as specialist modules covering recovery, trauma-informed practice, justice, housing, clinical and employment services.

What you’ll be doing

• Deliver engaging training across a range of audiences and formats
• Facilitate core programmes including induction, compliance, EDI, leadership & behavioural skills
• Deliver therapeutic and recovery-focused learning (e.g. trauma-informed care, motivational approaches, psychosocial support)
