About the Role

The Senior Partnerships Officer (SPO) will work closely with the Chief Executive (CEO) and Fundraising Lead (FL) to ensure the charity has sufficient funding to achieve its mission. This primarily involves developing new donor relationships and partnerships to grow fundraising income streams. The fundraising strategy focuses on high-value grants, gifts and partnerships. We recognise that the lines between major donors, corporate partners and family foundations are often blurred. Therefore, the charity have chosen not to silo work in this way and instead have created a new role focused on developing new relationships across all these income streams. The focus of the role is on ‘winning new business’ and will suit an entrepreneurial candidate with experience in business development, and/or building new corporate or philanthropic partnerships. 

Key areas of responsibility include:

• New business development - acquiring prospective donors and partners
• Solicit gifts
• Relationship management & stewardship
• Be part of the Beaver Trust fundraising team

About You

You will be entrepreneurial and a self-starter, driven to build a network of meaningful relationships with prospective donors and supporters. Able to work independently and make decisions with little supervision.

You will have:

• Excellent prospect research skills, and an understanding of the motivations of donors and how to use this insight to create persuasive propositions and deliver compelling pitches.
• Experience of successfully developing new major donor/client relationships or corporate partnerships, either in a charity or business environment.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and be able to interact confidently and persuasively in a range of settings with existing and prospective major donors and partners.
• Experience of representing an organisation’s interests and advocating for them.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to move donors, supporters and partner organisations along a donor journey, from initial contact and relationship building to soliciting a donation and ongoing stewardship.
• Knowledge of all relevant fundraising, data protection and other regulations.
• Resilience and be a problem solver, able to withstand negative reactions and find solutions.
• The ability to think strategically and translate ambitions into actionable plans and delivery.
• Highly competent IT skills, preferably Google Workplace, and high standards for visual content.

About the Role   

As our Financial Controller, you'll lead the day-to-day financial operations of the charity, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and efficient processes that support our mission. You'll oversee month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, providing clear insights to inform decision-making across the organisation. Working closely with colleagues throughout the charity, you'll manage grant and restricted fund reporting, support annual planning, drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes, and lead a small finance team. About you 

We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA ,CIPFA or similar) with at least five years' post-qualification experience and a proven track record in senior finance or audit roles. You'll be confident leading finance operations, managing staff, and turning complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.

You'll bring experience of charity finance, including grant management, restricted and unrestricted funds, and Charity SORP, alongside strong skills in Xero and Excel. Experience with Fathom and Raiser's Edge (or similar CRM/database systems) would be an advantage.

What You will do:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Events & Fundraising Assistant to help deliver our growing programme of own brand mass participation events and third-party challenge events. Access to justice is at the heart of our fundraising events, and the Events & Fundraising Assistant is a vital part of the team delivering the world's largest one day gathering of lawyers at the London Legal Walk.

You will help with supporter communications, event administration, logistics and event delivery, supporter enquiries and fundraising stewardship ensuring each participant feels inspired and thanked for their contribution to supporting frontline free legal advice charities. 

Job description

The Events & Fundraising Assistant helps to improve, develop and organise our events, including the London Legal Walk, Great Legal Bake, Great Legal Quiz and many more across London and the South East. You will work to maintain contact with our wide network of dedicated supporters, keeping our database up-to-date with contact and event information, and support with the on the day delivery of the event. You will update our website and produce content for printed materials to promote our events programme, and assist with the recruitment and management of volunteers.

• Maintain and build on existing LLST fundraising events through supporting delivery - managing sign ups, responding to enquries, drafting event materials and correspondence with supporters.

• Attend, help at and supervise events including registration, set-up, pack-down and stakeholder management.

• Improve and maintain LLST's website and online presence on LLST's social media chanels.
• Administrative duties inlcuding data entry and income processing.
• General support, ensuring LLST’s activities comply with charity, company and general law.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to lead a well-established and highly regarded charity that provides practical and emotional support to people living with life-limiting conditions, alongside their families, carers and those experiencing grief and bereavement.

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Charity Director will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the organisation remains sustainable, effective and responsive to the needs of those it serves. You will lead a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, oversee service delivery, drive fundraising and income generation, and act as an ambassador for the charity across communities and stakeholder networks.

The role requires a leader who can balance strategic thinking with compassion, building strong relationships while ensuring the organisation delivers meaningful and measurable impact.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the development and delivery of the charity's strategic and operational plans.
• Providing inspirational leadership to staff and volunteers.
• Raising the profile of the organisation and building relationships with funders, supporters, partners and stakeholders.
• Overseeing the delivery of high-quality, person-centred services.
• Ensuring robust governance, compliance and risk management.
• Managing budgets and supporting the long-term financial sustainability of the charity.
• Leading and supporting fundraising activities, including grants, trusts, foundations and community initiatives.
• Monitoring organisational performance and reporting to the Board of Trustees.
• Supporting a culture that enables open, compassionate and respectful conversations around serious illness, death, dying and bereavement.

About You

You will be an experienced and emotionally intelligent leader with a track record of managing teams, developing services and delivering organisational objectives.

You will bring:

• Senior leadership experience within the charity, public, health, social care or not-for-profit sector.
• Strong financial management and budget oversight skills.
• Experience of stakeholder engagement, partnership development and income generation.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Knowledge of governance, compliance and organisational risk management.
• The ability to inspire, motivate and develop teams and volunteers.
• Emotional resilience and a genuine commitment to supporting people facing life-limiting illness, end-of-life issues and bereavement.
• Confidence and comfort working in an environment where conversations around death, dying, loss and grief are part of everyday practice.

These are exciting times, and we’re looking for a Director of Income Generation (Fundraising), Membership & Engagement to drive the next phase of growth for our organisation!

You will deliver ambitious, sustainable income growth while deepening audience engagement and enhancing organisational profile, ensuring we have the resources, relationships and reputation needed to achieve our mission at scale.

This is a varied and influential role, leading fundraising, membership, marketing, communications and audience engagement. You will drive growth across a diverse range of income streams, develop high-value partnerships, strengthen our brand and supporter experience and use insight and innovation to maximise impact and long-term sustainability. You will also lead and inspire a high-performing team while acting as a senior ambassador for the organisation.

The role will be hybrid (after settling in period) and we have office facilities available in Bangor or Aberduna.

This role may particularly appeal to senior leaders currently working as a Director of External Relations, Director of Partnerships, Director of Development or in a similar strategic leadership position, who have responsibility for income generation, stakeholder engagement, membership growth, communications and external partnerships.

Welsh language skills are not essential for this role but are highly desirable. We expect the successful candidate, if not already fluent, to be committed to learning Welsh and to demonstrate a strong understanding of and support for Welsh culture, which is integral to our work in land management and nature recovery.
