About the role 

You’ll provide a personalised service that enables appropriate levels of self-advocacy and/ or advocate on behalf of clients, signposting to other services as relevant.

You’ll empower people affected by Parkinson's, their families, friends and carers to live lives that are as fulfilling as possible and to take an active role in their treatment becoming their own advocate in health and life, wherever possible.

This role is fixed term until 31st December 2027. 

What you’ll do:

• Provide in depth, person-centred information and guidance to clients via our helpline service. 

• Keep accurate, up to date online client records in line with practice. 

• Recognise and respond to potential safeguarding situations using established procedures.

• Provide information on a variety of health and social care issues, including appropriate emotional support, employment and welfare benefits guidance and advocating with and on behalf of clients.

• Maintain relationships and partnerships with internal and external teams to achieve the best outcomes for clients. 

What you’ll bring:

• Background and/or current experience in health and social care 

• Well-developed telephone skills including active listening and questioning

• Experience of supporting and empowering people with problem solving, navigating the health and social care system and participating in their own care

• Ability to be calm and deal effectively with challenging or emotional situations and/or people

• In depth understanding of Parkinson’s, relevant issues and legislation, in particular in connection with health and social care and welfare benefits

About the role

The Programme Director role is an exciting new opportunity to lead the recently established Southern VCSE Collaborative (SVC), enabling it to deliver contracts collaboratively across the voluntary and community sector and at scale. The role will be employed technically by Southampton Voluntary Services but fully seconded into SVC.

SVC is a newly established, system-backed partnership bringing together five charities – No Limits, Solent Mind, Southampton Voluntary Services (SVS), Citizens Advice Southampton and Social Care in Action (SCiA).

SVC does not directly deliver services; instead, it works through a network of VCSE partners to deliver high-quality, community-based provision. SVC currently holds a £2.8m per annum contract (6 years with the option to extend for a further 4 years) delivered through 15 providers and has ambitious plans to grow its reach and impact across Southampton, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

We are seeking an experienced Programme Director to provide strategic and operational leadership at this critical stage of development. This is a senior system leadership role, combining partnership-building, programme development and disciplined oversight of performance, finance and governance. As a new role, we are open to exploring the precise make up hours. The role is advertised as 0.8FTE, but other options can be suggested to deliver the required responsibilities. 

You will:

• Act as the senior representative and “face” of SVC with commissioners, statutory partners and the VCSE

• Lead system, partnership and programme development across Southampton, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight

• Position SVC as a trusted system partner and secure new programmes and contracts

• Oversee delivery across multiple VCSE partners, ensuring strong performance, quality assurance and continuous improvement

• Manage contract performance, including KPIs, financial oversight and risk

• Support the Board of Directors with governance, strategy and organisational development, including fulfilling Company Secretary responsibilities

About you

You will bring:

• Significant experience working with commissioners and the voluntary sector in complex, multi-partner environments

• A strong track record of leading programmes or contracts involving multiple delivery partners

• Financial and performance management credibility, with the ability to oversee budgets, risk and value for money

• Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills

• The ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and shape emerging models

• A values-driven, collaborative leadership style, with the confidence to both support and challenge partners

You will have a recognised programme or transformation qualification, or equivalent senior-level experience leading complex programmes.

Southampton Voluntary Services (SVS) is the umbrella body for local voluntary and community groups working in Southampton. They provide a wide range of services including specialist support, advice and training to their membership. They also provide and promote information to individuals and organisations on volunteering in the city.

Job Overview

The Cathedral Safeguarding Officer is the designated safeguarding professional for Lincoln Cathedral, responsible for ensuring that safeguarding is embedded across all aspects of Cathedral life.

The postholder will ensure compliance with Church of England safeguarding policy, diocesan frameworks and relevant statutory legislation, while promoting a culture of care, accountability and continuous improvement.

The role involves providing expert safeguarding advice, managing safeguarding concerns and casework, supporting safer recruitment processes, and ensuring that clergy, staff and volunteers understand and fulfil their safeguarding responsibilities.

Working in partnership with the Diocesan Safeguarding Team and statutory agencies, the Cathedral Safeguarding Officer will support the Dean and Chapter in fulfilling their safeguarding responsibilities, while exercising independent professional judgement in relation to safeguarding matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote a culture in which safeguarding is understood as everyone’s responsibility.
• Manage safeguarding concerns, allegations and casework.

Bipolar UK is the only national charity dedicated to supporting people affected by bipolar — including individuals, carers, families and loved ones. Over one million people in the UK live with bipolar disorder, yet many experience symptoms for years before receiving an accurate diagnosis.

We are entering an exciting new phase following the launch of our co‑produced three‑year strategy (2026–2029). Over the coming years, we will reach more people than ever before, expand access to self‑management support, and build understanding of bipolar across workplaces, services and communities.

Purpose of the Role

Our Trainer plays a vital role in helping people understand bipolar, reduce stigma, and build confidence to live well.

You will deliver:

• Eight‑week self‑management courses for people living with a bipolar diagnosis
• Bipolar awareness and workplace training for employers and professionals

You will also contribute to the ongoing development of training and psychoeducation, supporting our ambition to grow accredited and evidence‑informed learning programmes.

Training audiences are diverse and include individuals with lived experience, employees and managers, housing providers, community organisations, and statutory or criminal justice settings.

Through confident, compassionate and trauma‑informed facilitation, you will help create safe learning spaces, challenge stereotypes, and support greater engagement with Bipolar UK — particularly among communities who may not traditionally access mental health support.

Key Responsibilities

Training Delivery

• Lead engaging, evidence‑informed bipolar awareness sessions for a wide range of audiences, delivered both online and in person.
• Deliver self‑management and psychoeducation workshops that support people affected by bipolar to live well and build confidence.
• Adapt delivery styles to meet different learning needs, levels of knowledge and lived experiences.

Content Development

• Develop, adapt and update training materials that are inclusive, accessible, trauma‑informed and culturally sensitive.
• Tailor content for different professional contexts and learning environments.
• Ensure language and materials reflect best practice in equity, diversity, inclusion and rights‑based approaches.
• Contribute to the development of training content suitable for future accreditation, including our psychoeducation programmes.

Engagement & Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with Bipolar UK staff and volunteers across the organisation.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
• Support wider organisational work to raise awareness, reduce stigma and promote understanding of bipolar.

• Represent Bipolar UK professionally and in line with our values, policies and safeguarding standards.

Person Specification

Essential

You can demonstrate:

• Significant experience delivering training, or group learning, with the ability to adapt style for different audiences.
• Confidence delivering sessions digitally, a longer-term development may include in-person, (flexibility around reasonable adjustments will be made).
• Strong awareness of mental health conditions and their impact, including bipolar disorder.
• Experience delivering self‑management, psychoeducation or wellbeing‑focused programmes.
• Have a clear understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion in learning environments.
• Ability to create and adapt accessible, inclusive training materials.
• Experience training professionals at varying levels of seniority.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Maintain accurate records of delivery, attendance and outcomes
• Gather participant feedback and contribute to continuous improvement of course materials and delivery methods
• Maintain excellent records throughout course delivery, whilst ensuring feedback and course evaluations are completed and developed.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office and willing to learn new software as required.
• Understanding/adherence to confidentiality/GDPR and also safeguarding policies and willing to undertake training as role requires.

As our Communications and marketing assistant you will be a key member of the Winchester Hospice Fundraising Charity team, supporting the realisation of our communication, engagement and marketing plans to our stakeholders, allowing the charity to deliver its innovative fundraising strategy to be able to meet ambitious financial targets.

The Democracy Network exists to help make collaboration across the democracy sector more effective. It connects organisations, practitioners and professionals across the UK democracy ecosystem, helping to reduce duplication, strengthen relationships, share intelligence, and enable more coordinated collective action.

The Network is jointly incubated by two organisations with deep roots in UK civic tech, democratic education, and sector-wide network building:

The Politics Project supports young people to use their voice by giving them access to brilliant democratic education. They work with young people, teachers, youth practitioners and politicians to help them learn about, teach and actively participate in democracy. The Politics Project also leads the Democracy Classroom Network, a sister network of over 100 organisations across the democracy, education and youth sectors which support over 3,500 teachers and youth practitioners to engage young people in democracy.

Democracy Club produces the most comprehensive election data in the UK. Established in 2010 and registered as a Community Interest Company in 2015, it runs the national polling station finder Where Do I Vote and candidate lookup service Who Can I Vote For, serving election information to millions of UK voters each year and supplying data to the Electoral Commission. Democracy Club brings a mailing list of 35,000, an active community of 1,200 volunteer contributors collaborating on election information, and strong digital and data expertise to the Network.

Our vision for the Network

Over the last year, we have carried out extensive consultation with members of the UK Democracy Network, the Network’s Steering Group and funders. Through this process, we have developed a new vision for the Network that is designed to reflect and support the diversity of the democracy sector, and the wide range of approaches, perspectives and organisations within it.

Our model is built around a series of smaller thematic, geographic and demographic-based “hubs” within the wider Network. These hubs will create spaces for organisations and individuals working on particular issues, in particular places, or with specific communities to collaborate more effectively, while remaining connected to the wider democracy ecosystem.

Alongside this, the Network will support stronger coordination and information sharing across the sector through activities such as a monthly bulletin, shared events, an annual conference and practical tools and databases that help partners collaborate more effectively.

Importantly, we want to build on and strengthen the excellent work that already exists across the democracy landscape, rather than duplicate it. Over time, we also hope the Network can help incubate and support new hubs and collaborations around emerging issues and opportunities within the democracy sector.

About the role

The Network will be delivered by a small core team: a Network Director (this role), a Network Manager (in post), and a Network Coordinator (to be recruited).

Our medium-term ambition is for the Network to become an independent organisation in its own right. We see this role as central to shaping that transition, with the successful candidate expected to lead the Network into its next phase as an independent organisation over the course of the grant period. 

Key responsibilities

The Network Director provides overall leadership of the Network and is responsible for its long-term sustainability and strategic direction. 

Specifically: 

• Strategic leadership. Set strategic direction for the Network in consultation with members, hosts and the Steering Group / Board.

• Represent the Network. In networking and fundraising events, high-level roundtables and in high-profile relationships with government, funders, media and sector leaders.

• Lead on fundraising. Develop relationships with major funders, alongside Harriet Andrews at The Politics Project, building a diversified, sustainable funding base.

• Oversee the Network's transition to an independent legal structure. Support the establishment of the Board, working with Harriet Andrews and Sym Roe to recruit members with a mix of professional expertise and elected network representatives.

• Build an inclusive, supportive team culture. Line manage the Network Manager and Network Coordinator.

• Oversee monitoring and evaluation. Lead reporting to funders, and support the annual review process with the team and Steering Group / Board.

Person specification

We are looking for a values-driven, experienced, strategic leader. They will have strong people and financial management skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships across the democracy sector. They will be an excellent communicator, comfortable leading through complexity and change, and motivated by a commitment to strengthening UK democracy. 

The postholder will be expected to work in-office two days a week and attend regular in-person engagements in London.

The Site Coordinator will be solely responsible for delivering events at this stunning Grade I listed church. From the initial enquiry through to final delivery, they will oversee the planning and coordination of third-party hires, ensuring every detail is handled with care and precision while providing seamless and functional hires of this wonderful historical building. Working alone, the Site Coordinator will ensure there is continued access to the building for community groups and hirers, whilst overseeing all aspects of the day to day administration of the venue; This includes site operations, record keeping, event management, hire marketing and site presentation.
