We are looking for a communications and engagement lead who can help us with our marketing, PR, and social media presence. The communications lead will be working closely with our CEO and external partners and will be responsible for planning and executing communications campaigns to meet our annual engagement and income targets.

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience growing a social media audience ideally for a charity, social enterprise, or purpose-led organisation.

• Exceptional written communication skills – able to distil technical project outcomes into human-centred stories that spark emotion and action. Creative flair for designing, planning and executing campaigns.

• Understanding of public fundraising campaigns and how to use digital storytelling to drive donations.

• Experience using Canva for creating eye-catching visuals (text, image, video) and content management. 

• Proficient in social media management tools, analytics (Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, LinkedIn). Able to quickly post updates and announcements during live events and fundraising periods. 

• Able to maintain a consistent voice and brand identity across channels.

We have an ambition to support 15,000 young people across the UK annually with our mentoring programmes by 2028. To achieve this goal, we need to build new partnerships, secure funds through grants and foundations and grow our external profile. We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of supporting income generating activity in the charity sector to help us meet these ambitions. Responsible for

This role will give you the opportunity to work across all our income generating activity and will suit someone who enjoys breadth and depth in their day to day: 

Grants:

• Identifying and researching trusts, foundations, and grant opportunities to add to the pipeline 

• Liaising with the Programmes team and others on the content of an application 

• Writing and submitting high-quality applications

Business development: 

• Generating prospect leads through desk-based research and identifying sectors and organisations to target

Reporting: 

• Providing regular, accurate reports on progress related to income generating activity, including the pipeline, applications or prospects, and secured income

Team working

In September 2024, National Numeracy launched a new ‘Schools & Families’ programme to support Primary School staff, parents and carers in increasing pupils’ confidence with numbers, positive feelings about maths, and awareness of the value of maths outside of the classroom. About the Role:

This role operates within a volunteer-led global charitable organisation with 153 Member Organisations. It provides the inspiration, knowledge and direction to continually protect and enhance WAGGGS’ rich legacy and expand its collective reach and impact. Key Responsibilities:

1. Be responsible for maintaining the registration site and event website (using the events management software, Cvent) including individual event databases, providing reports as required and ensuring good communication with participants via email.
