Job purpose

The Sponsorship Officer plays an important operational role within the College’s sponsorship and partnerships function. The position has been created to strengthen the team’s operational resilience and delivery capacity by providing administrative, coordination and delivery support across the College’s sponsorship activities.

Working closely with the Partnership and Sponsorship Manager, the Sponsorship Officer will support the planning, recruitment and delivery of sponsorship and partnership arrangements across a range of College activities. These include the Annual Congress exhibition, regional and national events, webinars, communications channels and other initiatives delivered by the College.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to build experience in sponsorship and partnership management within a Royal College environment.

Main responsibilities

 Sponsorship coordination and administration

• Provide day-to-day administrative support for the delivery of sponsorship and partnership activity across the College, ensuring alignment with industry codes of practice.
• Maintain accurate records of sponsors, partners and prospects within the College’s CRM or internal systems.
• Assist with tracking sponsorship agreements, deliverables and timelines to ensure commitments are delivered as agreed.
• Coordinate the preparation and circulation of sponsorship documentation, including contracts, agreements and briefing materials.
• Conduct research to identify and recruit potential new sponsors and partners aligned with the College’s work and values.

Sponsor communications and relationship support

• Act as a key operational contact for sponsors, supporting timely and professional communication.
• Support the Partnership and Sponsorship Manager in maintaining strong relationships with existing partners through regular communication and delivery of agreed benefits.

Financial administration and contract management

• Support the preparation and processing of sponsorship agreements in collaboration with the Partnership and Sponsorship Manager.
• Work with the Finance team to coordinate sponsorship invoicing and ensure payments are tracked accurately.
• Maintain records of sponsorship income and assist with reporting where required.

Event and exhibition delivery

• Support the operational delivery of sponsorship and exhibition activity for the College’s flagship Annual Congress and other events, working closely with colleagues across the organisation
• Assist with exhibitor coordination, including logistical arrangements, sponsor briefings and exhibitor communications.
• Work closely with the Events team to ensure sponsor benefits are delivered effectively within event programmes.

Sponsorship package development and materials

• Assist with the preparation and updating of sponsorship packages and promotional materials.
• Support the production of sponsorship proposals, presentations and information packs for potential partners.
• Ensure sponsorship opportunities across events, publications and digital channels are accurately documented.

To undertake other duties as required:

• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Partnership and Sponsorship Manager.
• Working outside normal hours may also be required from time to time on key projects.
• Overnight stays will be necessary during annual congress for one week, and other internal and external events and activities.

We are looking for someone with a compassionate outlook who enjoys working with young people (students between 18 and 30), can maintain a positive mindset in unpredictable situations and handle responsibility. This is a people-centred workplace and all work we do is geared towards our mission and to look after the welfare of the students living here. You will be working as part of a small team, sharing office space and in close collaboration with colleagues and students. • Champion ranger wellbeing and recognise contributions in meaningful, creative ways.

• Identify and support emerging Ranger leaders who can take on more active roles within the network, and help lead Ranger working groups to extend programming and access to resources. 

Ranger Training and Peer Learning

• Work as part of a team to support the ongoing design, development, and continuous improvement of Ranger training and peer learning, to ensure that it is engaging and accessible. Facilitate training and identify the necessary resources to support Rangers in learning green skills alongside exploring climate justice and community organising. Co-ordinate the logistics of training sessions, including scheduling, venue booking, communications with participants, and preparation of materials.

• Support the gathering and analysis of feedback from programmes to inform ongoing programme development. 

Ranger Recruitment

• Directly support the identification and recruitment of new Rangers, including developing outreach strategies to attract volunteers from all of London's diverse communities. 

• Working with the communications team, contribute to recruitment materials on our website and digital channels.

• Help manage the application and onboarding process for new Ranger recruits, providing a welcoming and smooth experience from enquiry through to induction.

• Actively build relationships with underrepresented communities, community organisations, and local networks who may be interested in joining the Ranger community. 

Programme and Administration

• Maintain up to date records and administration on Rangers and their activities, including maintaining databases, tracking participation, and preparing reports.

• Contribute to the delivery of the Small Grants programme, including supporting Rangers to apply for grants, and design their projects. 

• Assist with monitoring and evaluation, helping to capture stories, data, and outcomes that demonstrate the impact of the Ranger and Small Grants programmes.

• Handle general correspondence and enquiries relating to both programmes professionally and promptly.

Person Specification

Essential

• Experience in community organising or volunteer coordination in a professional or voluntary capacity. 

• Experience of building programmes and facilitating training 

• Strong organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build warm, trusting relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds.

• Commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, and an understanding of barriers that can prevent people from engaging with nature and volunteering.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a small team.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, and comfortable working with databases or CRM systems.

• A genuine enthusiasm for nature, green spaces, and enabling the participation of London's diverse communities.

• Ability to work outside of office hours to meet the demands of the role, (this may include 1 or 2 weekend days a month, and up to one evening a week).

Salary and benefits

You will be joining and fully participating in a unique and inspirational community of changemakers and storytellers, active across London and increasingly around the world.

This is a contract role ideally full-time or for at least four days per week, initially until June 2028. Salary is dependent on experience and in the range of £32,000 to £36,000 full time. We are open to applications for flexible working arrangements which many of our staff take up.

You will have 25 holiday days allowance per year, pro rated for part-time working.

Following successful completion of a 3-month probationary period, we will enrol you in our Nest pension scheme, and will make additional payments of 4% as long as you contribute 4% of your salary each month.

Our typical land lead sites are around eight to twelve affordable homes, and may incorporate some open market housing to provide some necessary cross subsidy funding.

To succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record in working and successfully delivering affordable housing development and preferably rural housing. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work both collaboratively but also be an independent self-starter. It takes a special person with professionalism, enthusiasm, initiative, tenacity and a great deal of pride in the end product to stay the course and deliver these small, often challenging yet ultimately rewarding community lead housing schemes. The right candidate will also ideally have some technical construction experience, either from formal qualification of direct housing delivery. The Role
