The main purpose of this role is to provide strong operational leadership to ensure the safe, effective and values‑driven delivery of a non‑clinical mental health crisis alternative service. You will oversee day‑to‑day service operations, staff support, risk management processes and partnership working, ensuring that the environment remains compassionate, recovery‑focused and co‑produced. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of practice, safeguarding, and service performance so that people in crisis receive timely, person‑centred support that promotes hope, autonomy and emotional safety.

You should have a strong understanding of trauma‑informed practice, recovery principles, safeguarding and risk management, as well as experience working with statutory and voluntary partners. We need someone who can motivate staff, foster a positive and reflective team culture, and drive quality, performance and service improvement. Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to stay calm and solution‑focused during complex situations. A commitment to person‑centred, recovery‑focused practice, emotional resilience, respect for diverse perspectives, flexibility in working patterns and solid IT skills will be key to succeeding in this role

Step Forward is seeking an experienced Therapeutic Service Lead to join our multi-disciplinary team supporting young people aged 11–25 with their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Working closely with the CEO and Operations Manager, the postholder will help shape the strategic direction of the therapeutic service in line with organisational priorities. You will contribute to the smooth, safe, and effective delivery of the therapeutic service, ensuring it remains accessible, responsive, and relevant to local young people.

Key Responsibilities

· Be part of the Senior Management team alongside the CEO and Operations Manager and have a key role in the strategic direction of the Therapeutic service

· Co-ordinate the development and day-to-day management of the Therapeutic Service

· Support and line manage a small team including the Senior Counsellor and additional Counsellors & Wellbeing Workers

· Act as joint Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

· Work with the Senior Counsellor to help support honorary counsellors

· Manage a small caseload of clients, including assessments for newly referred young people

· Manage allocations of clients to staff and volunteers

· Ensure monitoring and evaluation systems capture the impact of our therapeutic interventions

 

About You

 · A recognised qualification in Counselling or Psychotherapy

· Professional accreditation, or working towards it

· Minimum 5 years’ experience working with young people aged 11-25 years, including at least 3 years of providing post qualification 1:1 counselling support to young people in an organisational setting

· Experience as a team leader or as part of a management team

· Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and experience in managing safeguarding concerns

· A demonstrated commitment to supporting young people

· Confidence delivering evidence-based therapies across short-, medium-, and long-term interventions

· Experience supporting young people with a wide range of presenting issues, including: Anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma, abuse, identity and relationships

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multi-agency teams

· Commitment to embracing diversity and supporting young people in Tower Hamlets

The two regional roles currently available are fundamental to the delivery of the third phase of the Seed Sovereignty Programme across southern and western England.

Working alongside the north east based England Lead, each role involves supporting seed networks across a dedicated region (southern or west of England- see regional map)  through training, mentoring, and routes to market, as well as engaging with a range of groups and individuals through events, workshops and talks.  The role involves collaborating with the rest of the Seed Sovereignty Programme team remotely to share best practices and develop the delivery of the work nationally.

Key Responsibilities for the role:

Seed knowledge:  Understanding agroecology, small-scale seed production, seed sovereignty, and open-pollinated varieties.

· Has a good understanding of seed saving and agroecological seed systems.

· Supports outreach and communications to share knowledge on seed saving and agroecological seed systems.

· Assists in the identification and development of new regional opportunities.

Collaboration: Building strong, respectful relationships.

· Works closely with the Regional Leads and Coordinators through team meetings, working groups and collaborative projects to ensure smooth communication and delivery.

· Is the “go to” person for enquiries regarding activities within the region.

Project Coordination: supporting events, and multi-stakeholder projects across regions.

· Liases with partners and participants to track progress and maintain project momentum.

You will have:

• At least three years experience in a learning and development role, preferably at a management level.

This role is 28 hours per week, to be worked as required by the role, with the ability to work flexibly (including evenings and weekends). You will be expected to travel regularly in the course of your work, including regularly across NI&ROI. You will be contracted to your home address, where you will be expected to work when not travelling.

Our events team is bold and innovative, working across a wide portfolio of fundraising and engagement events including our annual flagship fundraising walk, The Twilight Walk, an exciting challenge event portfolio and a growing special events programme. As the Challenge Events Officer, you will play a huge part in making these ambitions a reality and paving the way for our future.

You will play a pivotal role in delivering a high-performing portfolio of challenge and third-party fundraising events, including flagship opportunities such as the London Marathon, Great North Run, Royal Parks Half Marathon, and other national challenge events. You will be responsible for leading on a number of third party events and offering fundraisers an exceptional level of support through stewardship.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 · With support from the Events Manager, lead and deliver a portfolio of third-party and challenge events

Architects play a crucial role in our society. They design the buildings and environments where we live and work. The Architects Registration Board (ARB) is the professional regulator of architects. We maintain a Register to protect the public, so that anyone using an architect’s services, or a building designed by an architect, can be reassured that the design has been developed by an appropriate expert. 

The successful applicant will be a key member of the Qualifications Team, helping to deliver a rigorous cycle of quality assurance for educational standards and the prescription (recognition) of qualifications required to become an architect in the UK.This includes processing applications for a prescription from a variety of institutions, drafting comprehensive advisory notes, seeking clarifications from schools and presenting decision-critical papers to the Board for approval. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement and development of the prescription process and our workflow systems.

Applicants will require excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and report complex data; show highly developed interpersonal skills and excellent attention to detail; be able to confidently present evidence-based assessments and support conclusions on paper and in discussions with peers, senior management and external partners. 

The successful candidate will be a team player who shows the ability to work on your own initiative and deliver work to strict deadlines. Experience of working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels and the ability and confidence to identify risk and escalate matters accordingly are essential.

The Role

The Project Manager is an adept and organised professional, esteemed within the nuclear policy community for their level. Responsible for overseeing a discrete package of work, they must demonstrate a clear understanding and alignment with broader programme goals, strategies, and objectives. The role will report to the Programme Manager.

Taking charge of project deliverables, the Project Manager will navigate the entire project cycle, from generating fundraising ideas to developing them further and building knowledge of funding relationships. The role will also include deputising for the Programme Manager during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of delivery, external engagement, and team support as required.

The Project Manager will take responsibility for the South Asia portfolio under the Responsibilities and Global Governance (RGG) Programme. The RGG Programme works to strengthen global security by supporting the development of responsible governance frameworks for weapons and dual-use technologies in cross-cutting operational domains. Under the South Asia portfolio, the RGG Programme has facilitated research and dialogue with the Indian and Pakistani nuclear policy communities with a focus on regional crisis prevention, management, and de-escalation practices.

The Project Manager should possess a solid understanding of global security and conflict resolution and a deep understanding and demonstrable knowledge of military security dynamics in South Asia, coupled with a proven ability to design and execute high-quality project management and research. The ideal candidate is an established researcher with a specialisation in nuclear weapons issues and South Asia. As the candidate will be expected to facilitate India-Pakistan nuclear dialogues, it is important that they will show an ability to engage impartially with all parties.

It is expected that the Project Manager will have solo authored, policy relevant, publications. The Project Manager should possess the skills to expand their network in their area of specialisation, benefiting BASIC, and be capable of line managing other team members within their project. 

This role necessitates a formal project or programme management qualification – BASIC will provide the Project Manager with such training and qualifications if they do not already possess one. The Project Manager will collaborate with their line manager to identify a professional development plan, closing skills gaps and aspiring to become an internationally respected leader in their field.

• 5+ years of work experience in a think tank, research institute, NGO, foundation or government working on international security issues

• Demonstrated ability and track record in leading the creative development and delivery of policy projects in the UK or internationally, including budgeting and reporting

We are looking to employ a Housing and Welfare Benefits Advisor for Camden Disability Action's Social Welfare Advice services. You will have at least two years' experience providing welfare rights advice and housing casework and have up-to -date knowledge of welfare benefits and housing law, especially relating to Disabled adults.  Your role will be to identify potential income maximisation and provide the support needed to get benefits correctly assessed, and assisting with appeals as well as supporting Disabled people with housing support, including homelessness prevention measures.  You will work in a holistic way, managing and holding complex cases and advocating for clients across statutory services, specialist advice partners and community organisations.

You will be committed to learning more about the Social Model of Disability and you will share our vision for a radically inclusive world where people with differences are never disabled by the society in which they live.

The post is currently funded for 12 months, however it is an organisational priority to secure ongoing funding for this role and to keep growing the size and scope of our advice team.
