About the role 

Do you have a passion for photography and videography, and enjoy capturing stories that inspire others? We’re looking for creative and enthusiastic volunteers to help us showcase the work of the Derbyshire Recovery Peer Support Service (DRPSS) by documenting our groups, events, and community activities.

As a Community Visual Media Volunteer, you’ll:

• Capture high-quality photos and videos of groups, events, and activities
• Work alongside staff to plan and attend sessions and events
• Ensure photo/video consent is gained and recorded appropriately
• Upload and organise media on a shared drive for staff to use in reports, social media, and promotional materials

You’ll play a key role in helping us highlight the positive impact of our work and inspiring others to get involved

Full training and regular supervision will be provided, so you’ll feel confident and supported in your role.

About the service 

The Derbyshire Recovery Peer Support Service (DRPSS) helps people improve and maintain their mental health and wellbeing, and reconnect with their local community. We offer one-to-one support, telephone support, and community groups to anyone over 18 in Derbyshire who is experiencing mental ill health.

Your creative skills will help bring our service to life, celebrate people’s stories, and showcase the difference our community makes.

National Star is a Disability Confident Employer. Who are we looking for?

At present we are working towards being fully operational, over the next year Living Reasons will be looking to expand its reach and part of that journey is to tap in to social media as a whole to communicate openly and confidently about the areas we work in. What we are doing, we feel is new and grabbing those opportunities.

With this in mind, we want people who have a specialist interest, experience in or want to learn more about one of more of the areas the Living Reasons will be working in and confidently host lives on social media or in our currently being built website option for video drop in live sessions that are two way conversations with people.

This role will mean having to deal with challenging members of the public, there will always be moderators to ensure the people taking part in the live session remain respectful but there may be the need to respectfully challenge people's opinions in an attempt to educate. 

Living Reasons will never shy away from complex conversations and being challenged on our stance, we are sure we will learn from these sessions as well.

What is the plan?

The person who is starting the charity up is autistic, has ADHD, CPTSD and also multiple physical conditions that effect daily life and is part of the LGBTQ+ community and has faced a lot of issues in life because of these things.

Living Reasons is being created to fix what we think is a challenging situation that is getting harder to achieve every week, month and year in the current economic, political, environmental and societal landscape. It is not easily defined but we hope the charity objects below will help put context to what we want to achieve, what we can say is that below are the issues we are trying to address, how we do this will change as quickly as society does, but the issues we want to tackle are these:

We are looking for a creative and passionate volunteer illustrator to bring to life the stories of survivors, our campaigns and publications through visual artwork. You will shape the visual storytelling of complex messages across our website and social media channels, including Instagram, Bluesky, and LinkedIn. Your illustrations will play a key role in our advocacy, marketing and fundraising work. 

This role is ideal for an illustrator who wants to use their artistic skills to help shape compassionate narratives about people seeking asylum and refugees, and to support human rights and trauma-informed advocacy. 

MAIN TASKS AND ACTIVITIES 

• Create 20 original illustrations to be used for various purposes such as the charity’s social media posts, reports, campaigns and marketing. In interview, Communications Manager will share example of preferred style of images and will discuss with illustrator what their timescales/time commitment could be for completion. The illustrator can work remotely and the agreed time commitment for them can be discussed and agreed with the Communications Manager.

• The creative artworks must align with Helen Bamber Foundation and Asylum Aid’s tone, branding, and trauma-informed approach. 

• Help translate complex policies, personal stories and abstract concepts (such as trauma, recovery or community) into thoughtful and engaging imagery in the illustrations. 

• Contribute creative ideas on how the artworks can be used across our online platforms. 

• Conduct one or two workshops with our Ambassadors for Change, a group of survivors with lived experience of asylum system, to help them develop visuals that support their campaigns.

• Ensure all artwork respects the dignity and privacy of survivors and adheres to ethical storytelling and safeguarding principles.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED 

• Strong illustration skills and with an excellent understanding of visual storytelling.

• Experience of using digital illustration tools (e.g., Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar) are essential. 

• Ability to work collaboratively, interpret briefs and respond constructively to feedback. 

• Understanding of inclusive and ethical design practices and demonstrate sensitivity when representing trauma and human rights issues. 

• Understanding of, and commitment to, the objectives of the Helen Bamber Foundation and Asylum Aid. 

• Demonstrable empathy for our clients, including people seeking asylum, refugees and survivors of torture and trafficking, and sensitivity when working on topics related to human rights, trauma, or lived experience. 

• Organised, dependable, and proactive in meeting deadlines.

Purpose of the Role:

We seek a Web Manager (Unpaid Volunteer) to support our website upgrade, digital and fundraising strategy, manage WordPress sites, optimise user experience, and drive results through improved web performance.  You'll identify new projects to develop innovative products that generate revenue for the business.  This is a key role in which your expertise in digital marketing, web management, SEO and traffic conversions is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and optimise WordPress sites: Ensure consistency in brand messaging across all web properties, optimise user experience (UX), and maximise conversion opportunities.
• Revamp donation system: Develop our new fundraising system using Stripe donations and ensure compliance to prevent scam donations and money laundering.
• Regular updates and improvements: Stay ahead by reviewing and updating web presence, emerging trends, and best practices.
• Develop and install a Membership system for people joining AHO. AHO is becoming a membership organisation to empower members to decide how AHO is managed and to generate income through membership fees.
• Build and develop an Online Shop. The first stage is a Virtual Online Shop selling project items instead of money, for example, selling bricks to build a hospital instead of asking for money.  The second stage is an Online Shop selling physical African foodstuffs, clothing, etc..
• Design and build health tools, such as BMI Index scales, health quizzes, medical screenings, assessments, and questionnaires, to enhance the website's interactivity and educational value.
• Expand and add new sections to the current website, such as the Projects and Impact sections, showcasing our projects and their impact through stories, videos, and case studies.
• Performance Optimisation: Enhance search engine rankings and overall website performance using expert-level SEO.
• Analytics and reporting: Track and analyse web traffic, sales metrics, and marketing data to measure success, forecast trends, and provide actionable insights to the bus.

· Coordinate the monthly newsletter, liaising with the Social Media team to finalise and distribute

· Engage partner charities, community groups, and networks to share event information via email and social media

3. Stakeholder & Community Engagement 

· Build and maintain relationships with organisations, partners, and individuals aligned with Hidayah’s mission

· Send thank-you messages to venues, partners, and attendees following events

· Distribute and collect feedback forms, compiling responses to support continuous improvement

· Represent Hidayah at community events and networking opportunities where appropriate

4. Administrative Support 

· Maintain and update the contact database and event records

· Manage the Events Team inbox, responding to or triaging queries promptly

· Attend regular Events Team meetings, contributing updates and ideas

How much commitment is required?

This is a voluntary role with flexible hours, and can be carried out around your existing commitments. The role will take approximately 3-5 hours per week (flexible depending on needs and availability). 

While we are West Sussex based, it is not essential that our Trustees are, although it is expected that they will live within a reasonable commutable distance of the county

Joining Carers Support West Sussex as a Trustee is a chance to make a meaningful difference to the lives of unpaid carers in West Sussex. You’ll form part of a passionate, collaborative team committed to improving services and championing carers’ rights.

CSWS currently has 9 Trustees, including the Chair. Charity Fundraising - Individuals will have a proven track record in charity fundraising, at a mid to senior level with a deep understanding of various fundraising streams such as grant funding raising, corporate fundraising or individual giving.

Health and Social care operational delivery - Individuals will bring valuable insight from either a caregiving background or operational experience within the NHS. You will have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by carers or frontline Health and Social Care services, with the ability to offer strategic guidance on service delivery, partnership working, and policy impact. Your professional experience will help ensure our work remains relevant, effective, and responsive to the needs of carer

Our next goal is to establish a studio for those who lack the space and tools to work independently. With the support of our volunteer team we hope to provide a collaborative space in exchange for skills sharing in the community.

Where we are now

We have run several successful events and have developed a modest but engaged follower base. We currently have a small but well-established volunteer team alongside a growing newsletter community and a few established local partnerships. 

What we have achieved:

- Two successful Upcycle fairs

- A variety of workshops (e.g., upcycled jewellery, jeans-to-totes, low-impact film development).

- Built a community of remakers and trash artists

We are keen to explore new activities, circularity at their core, that can maximise our impact in Oxford.

What we need help with

We have flexible volunteer opportunities for anyone who shares our passion for circularity and is willing to uphold our values. It may suit you if you work part time, are out of work, are retired, on parental leave or are a student. There's no minimum time commitment.

We are looking for volunteers in these areas:

Running Events - Creative types who want to run workshops and other events themed around circularity, reuse, repair and reimagination.

Marketing, Content & Outreach - Social Media, Creative Writing, Video Editing, Infographics, Event Promotion.

Organising Events - Planning, Promoting, Venues, Flyers, Coordinating attendance.

Community & Partnerships - University, Families, Schools, Artists & Makers, Corporate Outreach, Fundraising Support.

Tech & Digital - Website creation and management, eCommerce setup, launch and support.

Circular Projects - Local grower & composter roles, waste hub, circular systems experiments.

We have roles which can be handled remotely as well as in person.

The difference you will make to cats and people

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you!

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

Community Engagement Volunteer

Why we want you

As a community engagement volunteer you and your fellow branch members will create a range of activities to help spread the word about SSAFA within your community. To ensure that that our Armed Forces community know that SSAFA are here to help and that we need the public’s support to continue offering our services.

What you will be doing

· Organising and attending awareness and fundraising events within the community

· Identifying new fundraising and awareness opportunities

· Helping at events

· Delivering presentations to community groups, schools, etc through

· SSAFA’s speaker programme

· Event administration

· Social media marketing

The skills you need

· Basic IT skills would be an advantage
