FareShare is the UK’s largest food redistribution charity, working with a network of 18 independent organisations to make sure good quality surplus food reaches people who need it most, rather than being wasted. We rescue food from farms, factories, supermarkets and food outlets and send it to almost 9,000 charities working on the frontline to support their communities. Every day, millions of people skip meals or go without any food, driven to food insecurity by the cost of living crisis. Yet at the same time, over three million tonnes of good to eat food goes to waste in the UK – enough for 7 billion meals.
In 2022/23, FareShare redistributed enough food for almost 130 million meals, but we know there is more food out there that could be used to support communities in need rather than needlessly wasted. This is an exciting time to join FareShare, as we embark on a new, ambitious three-year strategy that will maximise the social and environmental impact of rescuing surplus food.

The role
We are looking for an exceptional Major Donor Manager to play a crucial role in ensuring the ongoing success and expansion of our new major donor team. Working closely with our Senior Major Donor Manager and Prospect Research Manager, this new role will lead on nurturing high-value relationships with prospective major donors who have capacity to give between £10k and £100k to FareShare, and develop and deliver a calendar of high-value cultivation events tailored to opportunities within our networks to strengthen relationships and maximise support.
As the cost of living crisis pushes millions into food insecurity, and the world is faced with a climate emergency, the difference you can make by joining the major donor team is substantial. Our dual social and environmental purpose has never resonated more with donors and we have just launched an ambitious strategy to double the number of meals we can provide, amplifying our impact and presenting a compelling case for support.
Key responsibilities
- Build relationships with a portfolio of prospective major donors, understanding their philanthropic motivations, nurturing an affinity in FareShare, and tailoring opportunities for engagement to inspire major gifts.
- Foster a deep understanding of FareShare's work and strategy to effectively communicate, inspire and solicit funds. This includes developing relationships across the FareShare regional network and building a sound understanding of FareShare operations to support warehouse and frontline charity visits and tours.
- Develop innovative and personalised stewardship plans, in collaboration with senior colleagues when appropriate, to deepen donor relationships. Craft compelling written communications including emails, proposals, and reports to showcase the impact of donor support.
- Lead the planning and delivery of engaging cultivation events through opportunities presented in our networks, aimed at establishing new relationships and strengthening existing ones.
- Prepare effective briefs for our CEO and other senior stakeholders attending major donor meetings or events.
- Work closely with the Senior Major Donor Manager and Prospect Research Manager to enrich the prospect pipeline, always seeking opportunities within our internal and external networks.
- Work with colleagues across the Fundraising sub-teams to maximise cross over opportunities between income areas.
- Constantly scan the external environment and charity sector to optimise major donor experiences and identify new opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of donor interactions in our CRM system and consistently update cultivation plans.
- Ensure compliance with Fundraising Codes of Practice and GDPR.

As the Bid Manager in the Bid Management Team, you will support the development of winning proposals to deliver strong growth in our restricted funding pipeline.
In this role, you will work with key stakeholders, including staff in Country Programmes, Finance Teams, Regional Funding Managers and external partners to develop high-quality bids for opportunities with institutional and non-institutional donors that act like institutions. This includes bilateral and multilateral donors (e.g. FCDO, GAC, USAID, EU, World Bank), as well as some work with trusts and foundations.

- Support the project design process
- Work with country finance teams to build and review project budgets that reflect the technical design
- Negotiate WaterAid's scope of work and budget with external partners
- Facilitate After Action Reviews to ensure lessons are captured
- Design and deliver training to strengthen capacity of colleagues in Country Programmes and regional teams in proposal development
About You:
- Experience developing winning proposals to a range of institutional and non-institutional funders, ideally for development projects in low-income countries

Working with our Head of Corporate Partnerships, we would see you building on this track record and personally taking the lead on creating and inspiring bigger, better and stronger partnerships.

Account Management/ Stewardship

Supporting day-to-day stewardship of Hatch’s strategic partners including Pizza Hut, UBS, BlackRock and NatWest.

Integrating closely with our Programme team to support the engagement of founders for corporate requests (e.g. founders at corporate opportunities/ supply chain/ stalls/ panels etc).

Job Purpose
The successful candidate for our Policy Manager (Maternity cover) position will be joining BSR’s high performing and dynamic External Affairs team, which is promoting excellence and driving up the standard of Rheumatology care across the four nations of the UK by affecting public policy change. The role of the Policy Manager is to work closely with our members to give a voice to the society within emerging health policy discussions, public consultations and to play an important role in the development of our integrated departmental campaigning approach. The Policy Manager also plays a leading role in the development of our pro-active policy work and helps to shape the direction of the society’s lobbying. In the last year the Policy Manager has played a crucial role in producing expert advice and guidance, as well as groundbreaking health economics research, which are improving the delivery of Rheumatology care across the country – and 2024/25 is going to be another exciting period for the team.

About the Role

The Environment and Climate action team is responsible for delivering the Trust’s strategy and policy on all environment and climate related sustainability issues, including environmental compliance as a minimum and achieving biodiversity net gain.
Reporting to the Head of Environment and Climate action, the Environmental Management and Compliance manager role will be responsible for the Trust’s Environmental Management System and its associated policies, commitments, and standards, linked to the Trusts evolving sustainability and organisational strategies. The role will require establishing good relationships with other teams in the Trust to drive sound environmental practice from our operations and 3rd party activities.
Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for, and day-to-day management of the Trust’s environmental management system

We are currently recruiting for a F2F Fundraising Performance Coach's. The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of excellent fundraising results and fundraising compliance standards and specifically the delivery of performance improvements in our F2F fundraisers through coaching, training, and continuous development. The role will also involve direct fundraising where you will be expected to meet a personal target.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for coaching the performance of multiple teams in the region that will consist of lone workers, pairs of fundraisers to bigger teams as the income plan increases.
- Responsible for an individual fundraising target and set of KPI’s that include inspiring people to become long-term monthly donors, generating income through contactless one-off donations and acquiring newsletter prospecting sign ups in a range of locations including residential door-to-door, town and city centres, private venues, and events and more commonly on our private land, the canal and river Towpaths.
- Acting as a hands-on fundraiser who leads by example, delivering fundraising income through signing up Friends and generating contactless income whilst demonstrating the Canal & River Trust ‘s values and behaviours.
- Generating income and being present on-site to visit fundraising teams, fundraise with them, cover sickness absence, coach performance, provide training & development of fundraisers, reinforce our culture of health & safety, embed compliance standards.
- Provide phone coaching and in-person coaching of fundraisers to support meeting their targets and KPI’s and in individual cases working with fundraisers to improve their results from their current level of performance to the required standard by equipping them with the technical and psychological training to work to their very best.
- Identify training requirements and deliver on and off field training and coaching to grow income.

- Undertake mystery shopping, observations and internal quality control auditing of values, behaviour, and fundraising technique.
- Support and deputise for the Regional F2F Fundraising Manager by providing cover when they are on leave to support the regional strategy of inspiring new supporters and generating income through contactless giving to the F2F Fundraising programme. This includes taking responsibility for the regional fundraising targets and KPI’s.
- Working with our partner recruitment agency to arrange interviews, send out communications to candidates and sit on the interview panel with the aim of recruiting and onboarding new F2F fundraisers into the F2F programme.
- Support the delivery of performance incentives and setting up/editing teams on Evergiving and the rota.
- Provision of daily reports of observations and actions taken, areas of success, results for that day and areas of training and development identified.
- Process all sensitive and data protected information obtained by donors as confidential and in a safe and secure manner in line with the Trust’s GDPR and Security Procedures.
- Carrying out Daily Compliance training, Charity conversation, case for support and storytelling practice and Health and Safety training sessions as per directed by the Regional F2F Fundraising Manager.
- Manages feedback and complaints in a professional manner and follows the complaints process and communicates details to Regional F2F Fundraising Manager so it can be addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
- Driver’s License is essential (requirement for Business insurance)
- Performance management and coaching qualifications are desirable.
- Training qualifications are desirable.
- Knowledge and experience of working within the CIOF, Fundraiser regulator code of practice.
- Significant experience of working in face-to-face fundraising industry.
- Track record of successful individual fundraising and Team leading, meeting performance targets and KPI’s.
- Experience of increasing income through performance coaching of fundraisers.
- Experience of interviewing and recruiting fundraisers.
- Experience of training and developing fundraisers.
- Experience of mystery shopping and leading on delivering performance incentives.
- Ability to work to self-managed targets.
- Ability to be adaptable and flexible to support a geographical region of the network.
- Quick and agile approach to reacting to problems or challenges.
- Confidence to approach the public, storytelling and making an ask for funding.
- Ability to use IT systems, such as an I-pad and contactless devices proficiently.
- Good writing and IT skills to support the analysis of performance management.
