We are looking for a Stories and Impact Assistant to help us share the transformative difference our work makes for people with spinal injuries, their families and NHS staff.

This new role will be responsible for how we create and maintain the best processes to manage the powerful stories from people in our gardens and the impact data we collect. You will create a new stories and impact hub to effectively support our communications and fundraising work. You will also help to organise, input, collect and create content and evidence that can be adapted for different uses.

This role would suit someone looking to start or build their career in the communications or impact field or charity sector. It is a one-year fixed term role with training and development opportunities funded by philanthropic organisation the Rank Foundation.

Purpose of role

Stories and impact sit at the heart of what we do at Horatio’s Garden.

This pivotal new role will help us maximise these pillars to support the ambitious fundraising and brand growth in our five-year plan to complete gardens at all NHS spinal injury centres so we can be there for everyone who needs us.

The Stories and Impact Assistant will be responsible for how we create and manage the best processes to amplify powerful stories of people with spinal injuries, their families and NHS staff across our fundraising and communications work.

The role will create a new stories and impact evidence hub that will support how our impact and data gathering evidence is best used for funders, supporters and other key stakeholders to understand what life is like after a spinal injury and the transformative effect of our gardens.

You will have some opportunity to travel to the charity’s gardens and meet people with spinal injuries, volunteers and staff.

Funding

This is a one-year fixed term role funded by the Rank Foundation, a philanthropic organisation which encourages and develops leadership and promotes enterprise and innovation. It is part of the Rank Foundation’s Time to Shine, a leadership programme which offers a 12-month role alongside training and development opportunities. The role includes mandatory training days held by the Rank Foundation that will require travel and possible overnight stays.

It would suit someone looking to start or build their career in the communications or impact field or charity sector. The final job offer is subject to approval of the chosen candidate by the Rank Foundation.

Main duties

• Liaise with organisational teams across fundraising and communications to best understand how stories, impact data and published evidence are needed and used across the organisation.
• Design and maintain robust systems and processes to manage our complex database of stories and impact data from each of the gardens and track their use to ensure we’re making the best of their potential across our fundraising, channels and events.
• Make sure all content is accessible and adapted for different written and digital platforms.
• Comply with GDPR regulations, safeguarding and best practice (training is provided as needed) to make sure our system is safe but also supportive to individual needs.
• Help to manage the library of our digital assets like photos and videos, ensuring the team have access to the most impactful content for their needs.
• Work closely with the Senior Impact Researcher to support the organisation and management of data and scientific evidence, for example patient questionnaires and counting garden use.
• Respond to briefs from the team to gather impact reports featuring individual stories to share with internal and external stakeholders.

General duties

• Support the wider team with administrative duties that support the smooth running of the organisation.
• Actively contribute to team and all staff meetings.

Skills required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload.
• Good IT and software skills and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work as a self-starter, using your own initiative.
• Flexible, can-do attitude, with the ability to remain calm and professional when under pressure.
• Basic digital software knowledge including design and film editing would be desirable – and we can support this with additional training.

The charity focuses particularly on the conditions that have no other specific charity or voice - conditions that are underserved, such as pancreatitis, diverticular disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), childhood gut and liver disease, and digestive cancers. With their mission being to improve the lives of the millions of people affected by digestive conditions, they are looking for their first Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager to help them reach that goal.

The Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager is responsible for developing and implementing plans to maximise income from corporate partners and high net worth individuals with the propensity to donate significant sums. There is huge scope to develop both income streams at Guts UK, as this is the first dedicated position covering these income streams.

This role is home-based with mobile working. Purpose of the job:

As a Debt Advice Caseworker, you will provide high quality advice and casework services to our clients who call through to our national help desk. The role is fully telephone based, at our office in Stoke on Trent. The telephone lines are open from 9am-8pm Monday to Friday, and Saturday 9.30am-1pm. The role includes a variety of shift patterns in line with the requirements of the contract.

You will predominantly be advising clients on their debt issues over the phone, helping them to find solutions to their issues. No call is the same, and each client is given tailored advice dependent on their circumstances. The role is demanding, but full training will be provided, and you will be, working as a part of an approachable and supportive team in a rewarding environment, allowing you to provide the best possible service to our clients.

Through your excellent communication skills and attention to detail, you will be able to deal with complex situations, provide accurate and detailed information, whilst achieving individual KPI’s and targets.

2wish exists to provide support to anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under.

Aims:

• Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite

Our support team works very closely with our fundraising team to increase income but also to raise awareness of the work of 2wish.

This is a unique opportunity for an individual to raise awareness of the charity, building it’s profile and engaging communities across the English counties that border Wales. It will involve helping to organise fundraising events, working with volunteers and encouraging community fundraising opportunities.

Main duties:

Service:

• To help raise awareness of 2wish and the work we do in England
• To work alongside the support team in England and to build on the reputation of 2wish
• Research, approach and engage community groups and local supporters using mechanisms for engaging their support to develop additional sources of income

The role

The senior data & insights officer will report to the database manager.

Excellent use of and understanding of our data is crucial to the success of our fundraising activity. This role will support all elements of direct marketing and campaign work for the fundraising team. Using Raiser’s Edge (RE7/RENXT), the post holder will lead on complex data selections for integrated, multi-channel supporter communications, and present meaningful data analysis of fundraising activity. In addition, this role will make a significant contribution to the smooth running of our data processing, database operations, ensuring high quality data through accurate imports and data cleaning.

The team

Our dynamic fundraising department is preparing for an ambitious multimillion-pound campaign in support of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the site of the Royal Free Hospital. We pride ourselves on being a supporter focused and agile function, working at the heart of the charity to deliver impact for patients and staff across our hospitals.

Responsible for attracting and retaining donors, and delivering an outstanding supporter experience, the fundraising department comprises three teams which work closely together to achieve our shared objectives:

• Our Public Fundraising team harnesses the support and energy of individuals and groups, helping them to give back in the way that works for them. This includes committed giving, in memory support, gifts in wills, and fundraising events and challenges. Our database team and supporter care sit within Public Fundraising, with their work underpinning and supporting the entire department.
