Overall Purpose of the Role

Youth Action Alliance (YAA) is seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and values-driven Support Youth Worker to support the delivery of two key strands of our youth offer: the Girls Project and the Youth Advisory Board (YAB).

This is a varied and rewarding role combining hands-on youth work with project support, centred on empowering young people aged 11–19 (and up to 24 where appropriate). The post holder will work directly with girls and young people from diverse communities, supporting their personal development, wellbeing, confidence, and ability to use their voice to influence positive change in their communities.

Working within a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment, the Support Youth Worker will help deliver innovative programmes that promote life skills, female empowerment, youth voice, and meaningful participation, while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of both projects.

About the Projects

Girls Project (Wednesday and Thursday)

The Girls Project supports girls aged 11–19, focusing on life skills, wellbeing, confidence-building, and female empowerment. The programme provides safe spaces for girls to explore identity, build resilience, and access mentoring, advice, and signposting to additional support services.

Youth Advisory Board (YAB) (Friday)

The Youth Advisory Board is a group of young people aged 11–19 who act as advisors to Youth Action Alliance. YAB members amplify youth voice across YAA’s work, contribute to decision-making, attend meetings and events, lead consultations, and develop skills in leadership, communication, and civic engagement.

The New Business Manager plays a pivotal role in the success of the Fundraising and Communications Directorate, and London Youth as a whole. In line with our fundraising strategy, you will be responsible for securing five and six-figure corporate partnerships, achieving ambitious personal targets, and contributing to our overall fundraising target of £6.9m in 2026. Your focus will be on high-value long-term strategic relationships with businesses generating both restricted and unrestricted fundas, as well as other non-financial benefits. 

What you will be doing 

• Prospect new corporate partners that align with our mission, vision, and objectives. 
• Secure partnerships that deliver against our restricted and unrestricted financial needs. 
• Build a personal pipeline of prospects at the five and six-figure level and move them through the funnel to hit monthly and annual targets and KPIs. 
• Collaborate with colleagues at all levels to develop dynamic, compelling, and winning proposals that meet the highest of professional standards. 
• Work closely with the senior team, board, and Fundraising Development Board to leverage connections and facilitate introductions to prospects. 
• Ensure first class stewardship of prospective partners to develop and deliver high-value long-term relationships. 
• Collaborate with and support the Head of Corporate Partnerships and the Senior Account Manager to ensure success across the wider corporate partnerships team. 
• Support on the development and delivery of team and organisational events, such as site visits and the London Youth Awards. 
• Ensure all information is recorded in an accurate and timely manner across all relevant systems and in line with all relevant processes and procedures, including Salesforce and Sharepoint, research templates, due diligence grids, contracts, and finance. 
• Utilise data to analyse performance, make informed decisions, and report in an accurate and timely manner to relevant stakeholders. 
• Contribute to the organisation and team's annual plans, strategies, budget planning, and reforecasts as appropriate. 
• Build your knowledge and understanding of corporate fundraising, the corporate sector, and the charity sector, to ensure you can position yourself as an expert and make informed decisions in your work. 
• Understand, support and communicate the vision, mission, and aims of London Youth, and the needs of young people and youth organisations.

What you bring to the role

Knowledge and Experience: 

• Proven track record of securing at least five figure partnerships in the charity sector or private sector, with an understanding of how to unlock six figure sums. 
• Ability to research, identify, and secure both unrestricted and restricted income. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience of developing compelling proposals and collateral - experience using Canva is a plus - and pitching. 
• Excellent relationship building and stewardship skills with ability to represent London Youth to a variety of stakeholders, including C-Suite level. 
• First-class knowledge of the corporate fundraising landscape and the wider charity sector, including the ability to spot trends and implement best practices. 
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritise a busy workload. 
• Ability to collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to produce accurate work of the highest possible standard. 
• Ability to get involved in various aspects of fundraising delivery if/when needed in support of colleagues.

As a Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) practitioner, you will help young people and adults (16+) with learning disabilities, Autism and sometimes other support needs to transform their lives. 

Using techniques built on the principles of inclusion, choice and participation, your support could be the difference between a locked door and an open path to independence.

You will work with young people (16+) and adults to provide support that will significantly improve their quality of life and avoid admission to a General Adolescent Unit.

Evening / Weekend Support Worker (Substance Misuse)

We are looking for someone mature, motivated and caring to provide person-centred support to our residents in their recovery journey. If you have a heart to see people overcome substance misuse - to reset, recover, and restore their lives - please join our friendly team.

The post-holder will form part of our team of staff who support our residents in their recovery primarily outside of office hours. You will therefore have great inter-personal skills and the ability to implement firm but caring boundaries. In addition, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including updating records and administering medication as well as managing the house during weekends and overnight.

This is a part-time role on a zero hours contract, including some evenings and weekends, so could work alongside other employment commitments. Hours negotiable.

We are recruiting for a family support worker and we would like to hear from you if you have a Level 3 qualification or substantial work experience related to social care, social work, family support or early help. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with children, adolescents and families and have knowledge of parenting skills.

The role of the  Family Support Worker is to directly support, maintain and develop the network around the child, liaising, building relationships and communicating between multiple agencies and multi-disciplinary roles, these include, the local authority, social workers, family members, carers and significant others and the child in placement.

We’re looking for someone to fulfil a wide range of duties working alongside the other Administrative Assistant and volunteers in support of the Office Manager to provide coordinated administration across the Cathedral team. In addition, the post holder will support the Chief Operating Officer in tasks related to the management of the residential let properties located in Old Portsmouth. This includes coordinating property checks, arranging basic repairs and maintenance, supporting lettings activity, and carrying out viewings when properties are vacant. The property portfolio includes flats accessed by stairs only and will require the post holder to visit the flats in accordance with our lone working policy..

The successful candidate will have:

§ Good proven administrative, organisational, planning and IT skills including Microsoft 365 

§ Strong interpersonal skills including tact, confidentiality and discretion with the ability to communicate and work with a wide range of stakeholders.

§   A proven ability to work flexibly and proactively as part of a busy team

§   The ability to work alone and under pressure

§   The physical ability to climb stairs to properties and manual handling tasks, such as moving furniture, office equipment and stationery

Ideally you will also have knowledge of music and liturgy and building management coordination.

Hours: part-time 30 hours a week (excluding lunch breaks) split approximately 0.75 administrative and 0.25 hours lettings, worked across office hours Monday-Friday. Some weekend hours will be required occasionally, and some evening working is likely with Time off In Lieu awarded in line with Portsmouth Cathedral’s Policy.

The Role

As a Support Worker in a Children’s Home, you will provide direct care and support to young people aged 12–17 with complex emotional and mental health needs, including experiences of trauma and loss. Working within a therapeutic framework, you will build safe, trusting and professional relationships, support emotional regulation, and promote positive outcomes.

You will be responsible for safeguarding young people, supporting daily routines, liaising with professionals, and completing accurate support and care documentation. For Waking Night roles, on-call management support is provided, along with monthly team meetings and one-to-one supervision.

About You

You will have:
• At least 1 year’s experience supporting children or young people in residential, fostering, semi-independent or youth work settings
• A willingness to achieve the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 2 years
• A genuine commitment to helping children and young people reach their full potential
• An understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
• The ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins
• A commitment to ongoing training and development
• Creativity, enthusiasm and resilience
