About the role

In our Community Team, we identify, investigate and intervene in housing and homelessness issues. We are engaged in our local communities to understand the housing issues people are facing, and we apply our expertise to work toward solutions. Lived experience of the housing emergency is at the heart of everything we do.

Role specifics

You will have the ability to engage and work collaboratively with individuals, communities and with all stakeholders, including running group workshops and presentations. You have experience, knowledge of and/or proven ability in housing and homelessness advice and advocacy, with the ability to progress to specialist level knowledge. Essential to the role will be good time management, carrying out casework related interviews, maintaining detailed case records and offering advice and support to clients to inform their decisions.

The Role

We are are seeking to appoint a full time Safeguarding Officer to join the team on a permanent basis, working on safeguarding, welfare and vetting cases as part of the delivery of Safe Scouting across the UK. The post is based at Gilwell Park, London.

As part of the Safeguarding Team, you would be responsible for giving support and advice to local volunteer managers in responding to concerns affecting the safety and welfare of young people; for progressing safeguarding, welfare and vetting referrals, assessing risk; and making the necessary referrals to statutory agencies where required. You would be able to manage a caseload and adhere to deadlines and procedural expectations in a fast-paced environment.

As our Safeguarding Officer, the Key responsibilities are:

• Assess safeguarding allegations made against those involved in Scouting’s work including young people
• Assess suitability of leaders where adverse information is shown on disclosure checks
• To operate within statutory guidance (UK wide) in relation to adults who hold a Position of Trust
• Provide support and guidance to senior volunteer managers

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivery of a generalist HR advisory service to the Federation and our Academies, providing up to date and informed HR guidance and support on HR policies, processes and systems

About the role 

The Head of Marketing will play a pivotal role in strengthening the financial sustainability and social impact of our organisation. Our women-only gym provides a safe and empowering environment for over 600 women to move, learn, and thrive. Led by trauma-informed trainers with expertise in women’s health, it offers 29 weekly classes that prioritise confidence, joy, and holistic wellbeing rather than weight loss. The gym embodies our commitment to preventative health and creates an inclusive community where women of all ages and backgrounds can focus on their strength, resilience, and self-care. As a cornerstone of our trading model, it sustains our mission while directly advancing it.

The gym has seen significant growth in both membership and the breadth of its offer, establishing itself as a trusted and empowering space for women’s health and wellbeing. With excellent member retention rates and a strong reputation for inclusivity, safety, and quality, the gym is now well positioned for its next stage of development. We see substantial potential to expand its reach, increase profitability, and deepen its social impact by engaging more women from our local and wider communities. The Café – Nourishing Food, Nurturing Community

Our café is the social heart of The Bridge — a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive space where everyone can connect, share, and feel at home. Serving seasonal, plant-based meals prepared in-house, the café champions women-led enterprises and affordable, healthy food. It hosts many of our wellbeing and creative programmes, and through initiatives like the Pay-What-You-Can Supper Club, supports emerging women chefs and builds everyday acts of care and solidarity. The café has the opportunity to not only advances our mission of improving women’s health and wellbeing but also generates vital trading income and partnership opportunities.

While it currently operates at a deficit, it plays a vital role in advancing our wellbeing and community objectives. We are now focused on realising its full commercial potential. A feasibility study is underway to explore a range of operational and business models that will transition the café into a sustainable, profit-making enterprise. Plans include expanding income-generating opportunities through hosting more events, developing an external catering offer, and maximising use of the space for private hire and functions during weekends. This work will ensure the café continues to embody our values while contributing significantly to the financial sustainability of The Bridge

Room Hire – Spaces that Enable Collaboration and Impact

Our professional meeting and event spaces are used by charities, community groups, and corporate partners for workshops, training, and strategic planning. With over 500 bookings a year and a 89% return rate, these rooms are known for their quality, warmth, and service. The income they generate supports our wider mission, while also acting as a catalyst for new partnerships and collaborations.

We now aim to build on this success by increasing utilisation on our most popular days (Tuesday to Thursday) and attracting new clients to fill capacity on Mondays, Fridays, evenings, and weekends. Plans include developing loyalty packages for regular clients and introducing new offers such as team wellbeing days that align with our health and wellbeing ethos. This approach will not only maximise income potential but also strengthen The Bridge’s role as a space where organisations connect, collaborate, and thrive.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or professional qualification in business, marketing, social enterprise, or a related field.

Experience

The aim of the Hertfordshire Mind Network Domestic Abuse Casework Service is to provide advice, information, and support to survivors of intimate partner or familial violence living in the community about the range, effectiveness, and suitability of options to improve their safety and that of their children. All advice will be based on a thorough understanding and assessment of risk and its management.

About the role

The purpose of the Hertfordshire Mind Network Community Outreach Worker role is to:

• Provide support and advocacy services to clients experiencing domestic abuse
• Ensure direct contact is made with the client within a specified time of an incident being reported to the police and to carry out a risk assessment.
• Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• Maintain and enhance service delivery standards and effectiveness.
• Support the team with case management and volume of referrals to ensure a short waiting time and referrals are contacted promptly and assessed appropriately.
• Collate and obtain feedback regarding the effectiveness of the service.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the wellbeing of clients who are affected by domestic abuse.
• Contribute to a reduction in repeat victimisation
• Reduce the number of victims withdrawals of witness statements
• Be aware of the impact on children of domestic abuse and make referrals to appropriate agencies to support the children where necessary.
• Increase the reporting of children at risk of harm
• Increase successful court outcomes by proactively supporting clients and work with the witness services for cases going to court
• Work with the wider team within Hertfordshire Mind Network and support clients in accessing additional support e.g. counselling, peer support, employment support and self-development courses
• Work with other professionals e.g. police, health, social care, housing, and signpost and liaise with such agencies as necessary
• Work with and signpost to other third sector partner agencies as necessary
• Provide a first point of contact for professionals and clients and pass on necessary cases or referrals to the Domestic Abuse Caseworker.
• Refer to the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) if required and local IDVA service.

About the Role

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will provide pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic abuse through on-going risk assessment, providing individual safety planning, trauma-informed support, guidance, information, and advocacy and enabling victim/survivors to access the services they need in the aftermath of the abuse and trauma they have experienced.

You may work within a Hospital Trust's Safeguarding Team to support both patients and staff in an Acute Hospital setting, who have experienced Domestic Abuse.
