We are looking for people to join our communications team and lead on a variety of projects commencing in 2027. You will report to our volunteer communications maanger and be responsible for leading and coordinating prjojects on specific topics, assisting with creating and producing high quality content to be used across our socials and website.

We have a proud history, a clear purpose and an ambitious future.

We are looking to recruit a Three Trustees. These are all voluntary roles based in London.

Founded in 1869, Harrison Housing supports older people through almshouse and social housing. Today, we provide 75 sheltered homes and 19 general-needs homes, and manage a further 139 properties across London for other almshouse providers. Our purpose is safe, well-maintained homes for older people in housing and financial need and our vision is supporting residents to live independently. We are building on our strong foundations to support more people, strengthen almshouse partnerships and improve our homes and services.

We are seeking three new Trustee to bring skills, experience and fresh perspectives to our Board.

Previous Trustee experience is not required. We are looking for sound judgement, strategic insight, constructive challenge and commitment to our purpose.

We are looking for candidates who understand the challenges of a small organisation and will particularly welcome expertise in:

• Financial strategy and sustainability
• Strategic growth and organisational development
• Property and asset strategy
• Fundraising and income generation
• Resident engagement and the resident voice
• Social housing or the almshouse sector
• Governance, regulation or public bodies

Collectively, Trustees oversee strategy, performance, finances, risk and governance, ensuring residents and our charitable purpose remain central to decisions.

Commitment: Trustees are expected to attend 4 Board Meetings per annum plus a Strategy Day. They are also expected to take part in a Committee in accordance with their skills, interests & experience (an additional 4 Meetings per annum).

What we need from you

Hidayah is a volunteer-led organisation supporting LGBTQ+ Muslims through community support, advocacy, education, and wellbeing initiatives. This role requires a minimum commitment of 4–5 hours per week, with additional time required during busy periods or organisational activities.

We are looking for a Community Connector (Volunteer) to help bring people together, raise awareness, and help grow local autism support across Wales. This role will help strengthen existing branches and support the development of new groups where there is currently no provision.

What you will be doing

• Deliver “Understanding Autism” talks PowerPoint presentations to community organisations, local services, schools ,and local businesses.
• Share clear, accessible information about autism and the work of the National Autistic Society
• Help communities understand how they can better support autistic people and their families
• Encourage connection between individuals, families, schools, businesses, and local services
• Identify areas where there is little or no support and help explore opportunities to develop new branches or community groups
• Provide brief feedback SBVEO after each session, including attendance numbers and key themes and questions raised
• Distribute surveys with QR codes after each session
• Please note: All organisations hosting talks will be expected to provide their own IT equipment (such as a laptop, projector, and speakers where needed).

By creating a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment, you will help participants learn new cooking skills, explore different recipes, and build confidence in the kitchen. You will assist with facilitating and supporting cookery lessons that encourage creativity, teamwork, and healthy living.

Main Responsibilities:

- Assist in preparing and facilitating cookery-focused after-school sessions, providing guidance and encouragement to participants.

- Support the delivery of age-appropriate cooking activities that promote learning, creativity, and personal development.

- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where girls feel confident trying new recipes, expressing themselves, and working as part of a team.

- Assist with administrative tasks such as attendance tracking and organising resources to ensure smooth running of sessions.

- Adhere to Baytree Centre policies and safeguarding procedures.

 - Empathy and patience to work effectively with girls of varying ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

- Strong communication skills to engage positively with participants, other volunteers, and staff.

Do you want to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people? Volunteer with our award-winning charity as a Qualifying/Qualified Therapist and help bring compassionate, accessible support to those who need it most.

We are currently recruiting for trainee or qualified therapist placements for our Express Plus arts therapy service. Express Plus offers creative, client-led therapy for children and young people aged 7–18 (or up to 25 where additional needs are present). The service runs during term-time only, with sessions held after school in Family Hubs located in the three most deprived wards of Westminster. We work within a community setting and place a strong emphasis on reflective, responsive practice.

To apply, candidates must be in the 2nd year of, or have completed, one of the following training courses:

• Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy
• Systemic/Family therapy
• Counselling and Psychotherapy (ideally with some external experience of working with CYP in any setting)
• Art Psychotherapy

Climate Emergency UK CIC is a small community interest company (awaiting a response from the Charity Commission on becoming a Charity), set up in 2019 to support and connect councils and residents on getting their council to declare a climate emergency, and has since evolved into creating the Council Climate Action Scorecards. 

We’re in the process of creating the third Council Climate Action Scorecards, due to be published in Spring 2027. Our other work includes running training, such as the Local Climate Academy and working with others at a national level to advocate for further powers and funding for local councils for climate action. We’re a small organisation and need support from our Board in developing our next strategy. The Boards’ role at Climate Emergency UK is to ensure the organisation runs effectively with financial stability and complies with relevant laws and legislation. The Board also contributes to setting the strategic direction of the Board and upholding the reputation of CE UK across the sector and with funders. 

We work on consensus decision-making and want to ensure we remain a cooperatively working organisation. We are currently writing our new strategy, conscious of the political and structural changes in the sector, the difficult funding environment and rise of the capabilities of Ai.

Time commitment: Board meetings every 2 months or so for 2 hours (often weekday late afternoon/evenings but flexible). Support to the organisations, 1-2 hours per week

General responsibilities

• Ensure that the organisation creates and complies with its governing document, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations

• Ensure the organisation applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objectives.

• Contributing in setting the strategic direction of the organisation and supporting Directors in its implementation

• Safeguard the reputation and values of the organisation

• Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation.

• Ensure the financial stability of the organisation and support with fundraising activities

Personal attributes

• Commitment and passion to the work of Climate Emergency UK CIC 

• Interest in local government and climate change

• Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to provide effective support the organisation

• Strategic vision, independent judgement and ability to think creatively

• Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of being on the Board of a Community Interest Company.

• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to work collaboratively with others

• An understanding of the nature of oppression, how it manifests in society and a commitment to challenging inequality and addressing power and privilege

Experience

We are particularly looking for Directors with either/or any of the following:

• Landing national media coverage for projects and campaigns and previous work with national and regional news outlets

• Experience of effective fundraising for small organisations

• Experience managing start ups and organisations through early growth stages

• Understanding of AI technology and how this could be used for data collection, processing or to derive insights for decision making 

Desirable Experience and Personal attributes

• Experience of working in non-hierarchical organisations

• Previous governance experience of small organisations in transition and growth stages

• Understanding of the council climate movement in the UK or how these can be translated to other relevant sectors

• Understanding of local government, either as a councillor, officer or other
