Amy’s Place is a partnership between the Amy Winehouse Foundation and Clarion Housing Group providing supported living accommodation for young women in recovery and receiving support with drug and alcohol issues.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and compassionate volunteer with good interpersonal skills and a desire to teach guitar, who will support young women to develop their piano skills and positively encourage their creative expression. 

Location

East London.

Commitment

This is a flexible opportunity and volunteering times and frequency will vary depending on your availability and the needs of service users.  It might be every week or fortnight, 3 to 4 hours, ideally for a minimum of 3 months.

DBS

This role requires us to carry out a check through the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Activities

• Providing Piano lessons to residents, as well as supporting their individual musical goals.
• Developing and delivering individual session plans and documented session outcomes in order to assist each resident’s personal growth.

Support

• Volunteers receive a thorough induction and have access to any relevant in-house and external training.
• Volunteers have a named supervisor providing day-to-day support and encouragement.

A pragmatic and dependable individual who takes a thoughtful, structured approach to their work and is motivated by supporting a charity with purpose. They are analytical, organised, and adaptable, able to balance attention to detail with awareness of the bigger picture, and communicate ideas clearly to help strengthen systems.

Technical Resourcing & Capacity Building

• Develop partnership models that include skills transfer and capacity support
• Secure pro bono support, secondments, advisory services, and technology/knowledge transfer
• Work with country teams to identify operational and technical needs

Relationship Management

• Serve as lead relationship manager for key corporate partners
• Ensure strong stewardship through regular communication and reporting
• Deliver high-quality partner engagement and recognition

Collaboration & Internal Leadership

• Work closely with the Global Executive Leadership Team and National Management Teams
• Collaborate with fundraising and communications teams on partnership opportunities
• Champion a culture of partnership working across the organisation

Governance & Reporting

• Establish KPIs to track partnership performance and impact
• Report regularly to leadership and trustees
• Ensure ethical, compliant, and values-aligned partnerships

Representation & Advocacy

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Knowledge

• 10+ years’ experience in corporate partnerships, business development, or strategic relationship management
• Senior-level experience developing high-value partnerships

Weekend Opportunity!

We’re looking for people to join our weekend teams and we can offer flexibility. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week -this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

Volunteering in the shop

Mary's Living & Giving for Save the Children is unique - a vibrant result of the generous gifts of local individuals and companies being turned around by the skills and passions of volunteer teams, to create a destination retail experience. Selling womenswear, menswear, shoes, and bags to household goods, our shops can be found in the London villages and bring in vital funds for Save the Children.

Our Richmond Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

As the Administrative Volunteer with CARE International UK’s Supporter Care Team, you'll build hands-on skills in fulfilment processes and related tasks, all the while contributing to a global humanitarian cause. Under the guidance of the Supporter Care Team, you’ll gain meaningful experience and play a part in positively impacting vulnerable communities.

About you

Experience as an administrative assistant is preferred, but training will be provided. You should be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a team.

About the role

The Administrative Volunteer will play an integral role in supporting the execution of campaigns and appeals run by both the Mass Marketing Team and the Lendwithcare Team. This position operates within the Supporter Care Team under the supervision of one of our Supporter Care Officers. Additional administrative activities may also be assigned as required.

We anticipate that you will volunteer one day a week at our London Office in Farringdon, preferably Wednesdays. For volunteers residing within the Greater London area, reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed. A member of the Supporter Care team will usually be in every Wednesday, hence the usual day being a Wednedsay.

About the role:

As a Shop Volunteer you’ll be joining a friendly, welcoming team of volunteers and staff who support each other and have a lot of fun along the way. We value every volunteer and the unique perspective, skills and energy you bring. 

Whether you’re sorting donations, creating beautiful displays, or chatting to customers, every task you take on helps to build a more inclusive world. 

We value volunteer development, and as part of this role your can develop your skills further by training to become a till user alongside your regular shop volunteer responsibilities, or progressing into a Key volunteer, a role which includes opening, running, and closing the shop in the absence of the manager.

No matter your reason for volunteering – whether it’s to meet new people, build new skills or support Sense’s cause – there’s a place for you in one of our shops. 

Due to the nature of the role, we require all applicants to be aged 16 or over. You must have a UK address to volunteer with Sense.

Key responsibilities: Shop volunteer 

You’ll spend time doing a range of activities, including:

• Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service, helping create a wonderful shopping experience.
• Receiving donated items from the public, thanking them for their support.
• Sorting, steaming and preparing donations for sale.
• Helping to display stock in eye-catching and exciting ways.
• Keeping the shop floor clean, safe and tidy.
• Talking to customers about Sense and the work we do.

Key responsibilities: Till volunteer

Being a till volunteer includes all the same responsibilities as a shop volunteer, however, when you’re ready, we’ll provide you with additional training to:

• Serve customers on the till in a warm and friendly way.
• Put sales through the till, packing them and thanking the customer for shopping with us.
• Talk to customers about Gift Aid and other fundraising initiatives.

If you are interested in becoming a till volunteer straight away, please select ‘Till volunteer’, as well as ‘Shop volunteer’, when asked which volunteer role/s you are interested in during your application.

Key responsibilities: Key volunteer 

Being a Key volunteer includes all the same responsibilities as a shop and till volunteer. However, if you’re interested in taking on additional responsibilities, you can train to become a Key Volunteer, helping the shop manager by:

• Helping supervise the shop and other volunteers.
• Supporting the shop manager to make sure customers have a great experience.
• Opening and closing the shop when needed.
• Cashing up at the end of the day.
