Volunteering in the shop

Role Overview

We’re looking for an engaged and organised individual to be our new Marketing & Communications Coordinator!

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will support the Marketing & Communications team on its work to promote Maidstone Pride's brand and how we share our story.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of Maidstone Pride’s Marketing & Communication Strategy

• Help the creation and posting of communications across our channels (e.g Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube).

• Help create and maintain consistency in Maidstone Pride’s brand, voice, and messaging.

• Monitor social media engagement alongside the Marketing & Communications Manager.

• Support and maintain a consistent brand identity across Maidstone Pride.

• Support the promotion of Maidstone Pride and its activities.

• Support the development of relationships with local media, partners, and sponsors.

• Build positive relationships with local media, partners, and sponsors.

• Ensure all communications are accessible, inclusive, and align with our aims and objectives.

General Responsibilities

In addition, all volunteers have the following general duties:

• All Volunteers and representatives of Maidstone Pride are expected to portray a positive image, both internally and externally, by displaying high standards of service, integrity, punctuality, politeness, and professionalism.

NICOLA Arts is an artist-led charity and community space based in London, supporting young creatives, artists and local communities through art, culture and social projects. We are looking for volunteers to support our shop and community space, helping with daily activities, customer service, visual displays and the organisation of events, exhibitions and creative workshops. This is an ongoing volunteering opportunity with flexible shifts, ideal for students, creatives and anyone interested in gaining hands-on experience in an arts and community-led environment. Volunteer Coffee Shop Assistant

Time Requirement: Flexible to suit you between the times of Monday to Friday 10.30am and 2.30pm

Age Requirements: 18 Plus

Role Summary: We are looking for volunteers to assist our newly refurbished Coffee Shop in providing a welcoming and pleasant environment for customers. This role requires someone with good communication and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide a high level of customer service to customers
• Basic food preparation
• Make tea and coffee
• To ensure the tables and surrounding area are clean and tidy
• To load and unload a dishwasher
• Operate a till and balance the daily takings
• To provide a prompt, pleasant and courteous service

• Good communicator and willing to follow H&S instructions

• Tact and sensitivity
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work alone and as part of team
• Good attention to detail

Training requirements:

As a Coffee Shop Volunteer, you will complete the following training:

• Teesside Hospice mandatory training
• Volunteer induction training
• Any other training identified as appropriate to the role

Support and supervision:

You will be assisted by our Facilities team leaders who will ensure that you have all the support you require to carry out the role.

Communications:

The Facilities team leaders will regularly provide you with any information updates, training opportunities and upcoming events appropriate to your role.

You will be provided with a Teesside Hospice volunteer badge
