This is an opportunity to join us at a pivotal moment: helping to shape the next chapter of a niche, sports for social impact initiative that works to deliver meaningful change to communities, and provides a safe space for many girls who are exposed to risks associated with their gender.
You will join the Trustee Board in leading tranformative development from a successful grassroots pilot, towards a road-map that reinforces robust, cross-cutting outcomes and sustainability.
As we move through 2026, we are seeking an experienced fundraising and grants practitioner who can bring sector insight, constructive challenge and strategic oversight to the Board.
1. Introduction from the Board
Girls in Sport is a niche but ambitious sport-for-social-impact charity using locally led programmes to challenge gender inequality and create safer, stronger opportunities for girls in hard-to-reach communities. Our Secretariat is in the UK, and we are currently working with communities in Sierra Leone.
We are entering a transformative phase: moving from a grassroots initiative with proven impact into a stronger regional model with the potential to reach more girls, families and communities. To support that growth, we are building out our Trustee Board with more practitioners across the charity, fundraising and social impact sectors.
You will help direct and provide leadership at Board level in guiding us to unlock pathways to funding that is both restricted and unrestricted, strengthen financial sustainability, and support the responsible growth of our impact in Sierra Leone and other communities where our model can be replicated. It is very imprtant that you recognise fluctuating capacity challenges associated with scaling from start-up in the non-profit space.

Sport for Social Impact
We believe sport can be a powerful conduit for social change from the grassroots. Through locally led programmes in protected settings, we use sport, nutrition, education and safeguarding awareness to challenge gender stereotypes, strengthen confidence and resilience, and support girls affected by poverty, trauma, gender-based violence, FGM and child marriage, and preventing trafficking and exploitation.
Our work is designed to shift attitudes in communities through soft power, while providing a safe space for girls to access sport without barriers, learn, lead and thrive.

3. Job Description: Fundraising Trustee
Role Purpose:
The Fundraising Trustee will bring experienced fundraising insight to the Board, helping Girls in Sport strengthen its income-generation strategy, funding readiness and long-term sustainability. This is a strategic governance role, not an operational fundraising post. Working with fellow trustees and the programme lead, you will provide advice, constructive challenge and sector expertise to help us build a credible, diversified funding approach across trusts and foundations, institutional grants, high-value partnerships, major donors and aligned corporate supporters.
The right person will help professionalise our fundraising governance, strengthen Board capability and support good decision-making, while recognising that delivery capacity must be proportionate to an unpaid trustee commitment.

·Fundraising Strategy: Advise on fundraising strategy and priorities, with particular focus on trusts and foundations, major donors, corporate partnerships and institutional opportunities.

KLS is looking for a Treasurer Trustee to bring financial insight, sound judgement and strategic challenge to our Board. What You’ll Do
• Guide Board-level understanding of KLS’s finances, risks and long-term sustainability.

• A professional accountancy qualification is welcome but not essential if you have broader financial leadership or governance experience.
• Previous trustee experience is desirable but not essential.

What Will You Do?
As Lead Grants and Foundations, you will:
Fundraising strategy: Design and implement a comprehensive strategy for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding foundation, corporate, and government grant prospects.

As the national umbrella organisation of the largest voluntary movement for crime prevention in England and Wales, we support people to prevent and reduce crime by coming together with their neighbours to create safer, stronger and active communities. We estimate that our 93,000 Neighbourhood watch Groups engage with over two million people in a spirit of local activism that can address the issues that often give rise to crime and anti-social behaviour and help prevent them from becoming more serious. In the past year we have partnered with the Suzy Lamplugh Trust to provide training on being an “active bystander” and our “Are You OK?” campaign that showed how to respond in the event of witnessing aggression aimed at women, racial minorities or LGBTQ+ people. During 2022/23 we also launched a Community Safety Charter which has been endorsed more than 2500 times by Police Forces, local authorities and many different public and commercial organisations as well as by individuals and local communities.
Neighbourhood Watch Network supports these activities through a small central team of dedicated staff, led by our Chief Executive. Summary of Role
The Volunteer Director of Individual Giving at Solution Community plays a key role in strengthening Solution’s financial sustainability by developing, implementing, and managing strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors. This role is responsible for growing our annual giving program and building lasting relationships with our supporters, directly impacting our ability to achieve our mission. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional to contribute their expertise and passion to a cause they believe in.
Key Responsibilities:
Annual Giving Program Management:
Develop and execute comprehensive annual giving campaigns (e.g., year-end appeals, spring campaigns, monthly giving programs) across various channels (direct mail, email, social media, online).
Set realistic fundraising goals for individual giving and track progress toward them.
Analyze campaign performance and recommend adjustments to maximize impact.
Identify opportunities to expand the donor base and increase donor retention rates.
Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:
Identify, research, and qualify prospective individual donors.
Develop and implement personalized cultivation and stewardship strategies to engage donors at all levels.
Oversee timely and meaningful donor acknowledgment and recognition.
Act as a primary point of contact for a portfolio of key individual donors, building strong, lasting relationships.
Data Management and Reporting:
Ensure accurate and up-to-date donor records in the organization's CRM system
Generate reports on donor acquisition, retention, gift size, and overall individual giving performance.
Utilize data to inform strategies and identify trends.
Strategy and Collaboration:
Collaborate with the Development team and other leaders to align individual giving strategies with the organization's overall goals and fundraising priorities.
Identify and recommend best practices in individual giving and annual fund development.
Potentially recruit, onboard, and manage a small team of volunteer fundraising support staff, if applicable.
Represent the organization professionally and enthusiastically to donors and prospects.
Qualifications:
Proven experience (7+ years preferred) in individual donor fundraising, annual giving, or a related development role.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing annual giving campaigns.
Strong understanding of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling fundraising appeals and donor communications.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with major donors, understand their motivations, and align their giving with our organizational mission.
Experience developing and implementing successful major gift strategies, including setting goals, tracking progress, and adjusting strategies based on outcomes.
Ability to craft compelling narratives that communicate the impact of Solution Community’s work and inspire philanthropic support.
Ability to lead and inspire a team and work cross-functionally with other departments to achieve fundraising goals.
Familiarity with ClickUp, Slack, Google Workspace, and other digital tools for project management, communication, and scheduling.
