Universe of Life Organization (ULO) is seeking a motivated and committed volunteer to support our international fundraising and grants development. The programme focuses on women’s economic empowerment and livelihoods, children’s education and protection, psychosocial and emotional well-being, community resilience, partnerships and sustainability.

ULO has already developed the core project documentation and funding proposal. The volunteer will help identify appropriate funding opportunities and support ULO in presenting the programme to potential funders and institutional partners.

What we are looking for

We are ideally seeking someone with at least 3 years’ experience in fundraising, grant writing, trusts and foundations, partnerships, nonprofit development or a closely related field. Strong research, written English, organisation and communication skills are important.

Director of Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships (Volunteer)

 Location: Remote

Commitment: Part-time (volunteer, unpaid role)

Contribution Requirements: Minimum 10–15 hours per week; minimum 3 months.

Professional Volunteering: skills‑based service performed with the same reliability, accountability, and quality expected in a paid professional role. Volunteers are core contributors whose work directly supports our mission of global compassion, collaboration, and action

Summary of Role: As Director of Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships, you will play a crucial role in expanding Solution Community’s network of corporate allies. You’ll spearhead efforts to develop and nurture relationships with corporate entities that align with our mission and vision. In this role, you’ll lead strategic initiatives, cultivate sponsorship opportunities, and create innovative collaboration models that benefit our organization and our partners - including opportunities re: the development of corporate volunteer teams that build true partnerships with Solution and through our platform.

What Will You Do?

• Develop and Execute Strategy: Formulate a corporate partnership and sponsorship strategy that aligns with Solution Community’s mission and goals.
• Cooperate with the Chief Development Officer: Work together to ensure the "Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships" direction executes the strategy on time.
•  Work in a close relationship with the Grants & Foundations team and overall Growth team (fundraising and marketing): identifying opportunities that may overlap their roles and working in tandem to support Solution’s fundraising efforts
• Identify and Engage Prospects: Conduct outreach and engage with corporations and industry leaders who share a commitment to social impact, targeting partnerships that foster mutual growth.
• Relationship Management: Cultivate, maintain, and deepen relationships with new and existing partners while consistently exploring ways to expand our network.
• Proposal Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create compelling partnership proposals that demonstrate the value and impact of Solution Community’s work.
• Sponsorship Program Development: Establish a sponsorship program with clear sponsor benefits and a structured path to involvement in our initiatives.
•  Impact Reporting: Measure and report on the impact of corporate partnerships and sponsorships, ensuring alignment with our mission and growth objectives.
• Brand Alignment: Ensure all partnerships align with Solution Community’s brand values, culture, and objectives, strengthening our reputation within the corporate sector

Who Are We Looking For?

• Experience in Corporate Partnerships and Sponsorships: 5+ years of experience in corporate partnership management, sponsorship acquisition, or a related field.
• Strategic Thinker: Proven ability to develop and execute strategies that achieve partnership growth and sustainability.
• Proactive Innovation: Comfort working in an organization that is both a start-up and encourages informed initiative, without the burden of a corporate structure. Highly motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented.
• Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate Solution Community’s mission to corporate stakeholders.
• Relationship Building Pro: Demonstrated success in building and sustaining relationships with corporate leaders and partners.
• Results-Oriented: Track record of achieving and exceeding goals in a results-driven environment.
• Mission-Driven: Passionate about social impact and Solution Community’s mission, with an authentic drive to make a difference.

We are Buttons & Bubbles C.I.C. We work to increase inclusion and representation across society for the disability community.We have several different services including inclusive characters, sensory workshops, resources, events, advocacy and more.

• Be willing to undertake our training programme which will be done virtually and at a time to suit you.

Please note we are looking for volunteers who are based in the UK. 

As part of the Government led Communities for Afghans programme, we are looking to recruit individuals or groups (UK BASED ONLY) to make up a team of 6 volunteers to support an Afghan family - you could be friends, neighbours, colleagues, faith groups, veterans, or community organisations are welcome.

We are currently focused on supporting families across Wales, West Midlands and Scotland but be keen to support elsewhere geographically where possible.  With this in mind, you may live in these areas, but we are also delighted to bring volunteers together remotely to support a family. 

You will be at the heart of this programme. It is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference!

The Communities for Afghans programme is a community-led Government initiative supporting families as they rebuild their lives in the UK. It is a Government-approved scheme that enables local people to welcome Afghan refugee families into their community. Volunteers will be supported by us to find housing for a family, provide practical and emotional support enabling them to settle into daily life and feel a genuine sense of belonging in the community.

How community sponsorship work

1. Form a Sponsor Group: Create a team of six or more volunteers — friends, neighbours, colleagues, faith groups, veterans, or community organisations.
2. Training & Ongoing Support: Our partners provide full training, so your group feels confident and well prepared. This simple, practical training is offered before you begin and continues throughout the sponsorship journey.
3. Identify Suitable Housing: With our guidance, your group helps find long-term accommodation. We then match an Afghan family of the appropriate size and ensure the property is suitable and affordable. Government funding is available for rent deposits and related costs.
4. Welcome & Support the Family: Volunteers help the family register with schools, healthcare, benefits, and local services, while introducing them to the community and supporting them as they adjust to life in the UK.
5. Be the Local Point of Contact: You act as the family’s trusted guide, helping them navigate the area, understand local systems, and access opportunities that only residents truly know.
6. Commit for Three Years: Sponsor groups support the family for three years, providing consistency as they grow in independence, confidence, and resilience.
