What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!

• Own the Story: Create and lead on our social media content calendar and bring it to life across Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook and others.
• Guard the Vibe: Coordinate with our volunteer graphic designers to ensure all templates, quote cards, and digital assets match our signature high-vibrancy brand identity.
• Drive Engagement: Write punchy, encouraging copy that inspires lonely residents to take the brave step of showing up to our socials, and motivates local creatives to join our behind-the-scenes squad, or our frontline volunteer team.
• Animate the Grid: Turn raw photos and smartphone footage captured by our frontline team at the "SUNSHINE Programmes" into joyful Reels, TikToks, and posts that showcase our real-world impact.

Our mission is to support the mental wellbeing, emotional resilience, and personal growth of local men and boys. The Role:
To win local grants and attract volunteers, we need to look professional. We are looking for a creative Volunteer Graphic Designer to help us build our visual identity. You will create the assets that tell our story to local schools, funders, and families across Ealing.

We have a logo but need a positive vibrant masculine brand to go with it, that speaks to men and boys across West London and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design a simple, clean brand guidelines with brand colour palette.
• Create digital flyers and recruitment graphics to post on LinkedIn, social media and local community boards.
• Design a 1-page digital information leaflet for our upcoming pilot programme.

Volunteer Social Media Assistant

The role of the Social Media Assistant will be to assist the Marketing & Social Media Trustee with ad-hoc tasks and campaign delivery. This remote volunteer role is a fantastic opportunity to hone your social media skills, while helping a growing charity to extend its reach and engagement even further.

You will be working with a team of social media assistants, as well as the events team. This role is varied and provides a great opportunity to be creative; from helping create graphics to promote our events, responding to messages from members of the public, to sinking your teeth into a campaign, the Social Media Assistant role offers a varied and exciting workload.

We welcome applications from minority backgrounds, particularly the queer Muslim community. The post holder would need to be based in the UK

What you’ll be doing:

• Creating graphics and copy for a variety of social media posts

• Helping develop campaigns alongside the Marketing & Social Media Trustee to implement across our social media channels

• Drafting statements in response to relevant global events, to ensure Hidayah is at the forefront,

• Responding to messages on social media channels in a professional and sympathetic manner

• Monitoring engagement on social media channels; responding to messages, engaging with followers and liking/sharing relevant posts from other organisations

Who are Hidayah?

Hidayah LGBT are a UK based charity who are dedicated to supporting and empowering queer Muslims. We operate on a remote and entirely volunteer-run basis, with volunteers based around the UK. We run events for queer Muslims across the UK, from walks and cafe meet ups, to Ramadan Iftars, Pride events, book clubs, and much more. We also provide a safe online community for queer Muslims to connect and find friendships. Our core values of care, connect, and growth, are the heart of everything we do. 

Despite being a small charity, we are growing year upon year. We are in the process of completing our own research, and have created bespoke trauma-informed training programmes for organisations. We want to be able to continue this vital work, and would love to have you be a part of growing our organisation even further.

How much commitment is required?

We are flexible around your own schedule. As much of the role is ad-hoc, you may find some weeks you devote more hours than others, but we estimate around 2 hours per week are required on average. We appreciate that everyone’s capacities differ; therefore, this is something that can be discussed at the interview stage. 

Knowledge and experience criteria

Essential:

• Have experience of using social media in a professional manner (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn)

• Strong content and copywriting skills; the ability to develop aesthetically pleasing graphics and appropriate, engaging copy 

• Good communication skills

• Creative and proactive attitude, with a willingness to learn

• Can work well independently and as part of a team

• Organised with a good attention to detail; ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

• Supportive of the aims, vision and mission of Hidayah.

Desirable:

• Have experience of  video editing for social media use/using video editing software

• Previous experience with creating content for charities/non-profit organisations 

• Experience with using social media scheduling tools (Hootsuite) and Canva

• Willingness to attend in-person Hidayah events

• Awareness of issues affecting the queer and/or Muslim communities

Sea Cadets Leith, based in Prince of Wales Docks, is currently looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to join our committee team. Whether you chair the committee, run our social media, or help us fundraise on an ad-hoc basis, you’ll be supporting young people to access opportunities to create life-long memories and friendships.

At Leith we aim to give young people an experience that will help them grow into the person they want to be in a safe and friendly environment. We offer a range of different activities from sailing, windsurfing and powerboating - to rock climbing, camping, and music - plus, so much more!

Leith is a long-established Sea Cadet Unit that has provided life-changing opportunities for many young people. We currently have 24 cadets who come from all over the area. Our cadets come from all walks of life, with some experiencing adverse childhood events, and limited access to social youth groups. Without support from volunteers like you, our charity cannot provide the adventure, community, and opportunities that young people experience through the Sea Cadets.

The primary purpose of the CFAV is to assist in the development of young people as
Individuals and active citizens by providing safe and rewarding training, direction and guidance.
The secondary purposes of a CFAV are:
- Maintain the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC) values
- Assist the Unit Training Officer (UTO) to plan a varied training programme.
- Safely and securely maintain the unit’s resources and equipment.

We will support you to understand your role, how to do it and the difference you make to the SCC
- Understand the skills and experience you have, as well as your aspirations for volunteering
- Provide you with an induction, ongoing support and training to undertake your volunteer role
- Provide regular updates about any developments in the charity that are relevant to you

Social Media/Marketing Manager

Challenge Adventure Group (“CAG” for short and the operating name of CAG Trust) is a voluntary youth organisation for Knowle, Dorridge and beyond aimed at boys aged 10 and above.

As our name suggests, we provide challenging, adventurous and fun activities and the D of E Award for young people in their leisure time. Taking part in fun experiential activities enables members to develop their physical and mental skills and capacities and reach their full potential of becoming positive, active and happy citizens.

Summary

CAG was formed in 2009 and became a charity, CAG Trust, in 2019. We are looking for someone to help us publicise CAG and what we do to build a consistent positive message about young people and Challenge Adventure Group and, ultimately, build a demand to be a part of CAG.

These messages and stories will be delivered through a variety of media.  Additionally, we want to engage our current and potential audiences by creating and developing a compelling social media strategy and content.  We want to get the CAG name and story out into the community to build long lasting and meaningful relationships with local organisations, community groups and other relevant parties and to establish CAG as a strong and vibrant participant of local life.

Description

We are looking for an experienced offline and online/social media marketer to work with us to maximise our presence in order to attract new members and volunteers and to advertise CAG to its full potential.

We would like you to:

• Develop and on and offline marketing strategy.
• Prepare and deliver on and offline marketing material and stories.
• Perform a social media audit: Assess the current state of our social media pages and make recommendations on how we might improve our presence and engagement and where we might focus our efforts.
• Help us develop and/or execute a social media campaign around, in the first instance, recruiting new members.
• Provide guidance/strategy on how we can manage our social media on an ongoing basis e.g. using a centralised tool, creating a content calendar, identifying easy and free graphic tools and images.
• Produce fresh and engaging content for our social media channels.
• Prepare graphics for sharing across channels.
• Engage with our followers and encourage interaction.
• Manage and maintain social media channels on a regular basis.
• Work with our Group Leader who will provide our existing brand/style guidelines and share the CAG ethos.

We are looking for a volunteer who has experience of:

• Writing and editing marketing content for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok / across all platforms.
• Building strategies to increase social media following and build fundraising or awareness campaigns.
• Developing a coherent brand voice for social media, from content creation to community interactions.
• Using and setting up tools such as Hootsuite, Social Sprout, Canva, etc.
• Creating content calendars to help plan social media activity.
• Marketing specific events such as New Member Evenings and Duke of Edinburgh Introductory Presentations.

Ideally you should have/be:

• A flexible team player.
• A basic understanding of what CAG stands for and its place in the local community.
• A passion for the work of CAG and the importance of it to its members and volunteers.
• Experience of digital: social media marketing.
• Ability to engage and build a rapport with a wide range of people and organisations including local schools.
• Ability to build and maintain good working relationships.
• A car driver or have ability to travel to attend events and meetings.
• The post holder must be able to provide a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Check, either a current or new application that can be made through CAG.

Making a difference - what impact will the opportunity have?

Your input is key to the running of CAG as well as securing its future.  You will shape how we present ourselves to our service users, stakeholders, funders and general public. With your help we will be able to continue to grow our membership through building campaigns to recruit new members who will be able to take advantage of all the challenging adventures we offer and help make the lives of these young people richer and more positive. You will build on the social media campaign we already have in place to help us raise awareness in the local community of what we do and why we do it and ensure that we become a key player in our community as a whole.

What we need from you

• help set up and/or man stalls at events
• help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections
• help at fundraising events such as quiz nights, cake sales and dances
• promoting a professional image of Cats Protection at events

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

Join our amazing volunteer team to make a real difference to people living with sight loss. You’ll be supporting people to come together in a group setting, to benefit from each other’s company, knowledge and encouragement, leading to reduced isolation, stronger networks of support, and new friendships. You can support with either local and regional telephone groups or face-to-face groups.

What you’ll be doing:
• Meeting and greeting group members on arrival or joining virtually.
• Creating a warm and welcoming environment.
• Supporting group conversations.
• Assisting with group activities (if appropriate).
