About the role:

As a Shop Volunteer you’ll be joining a friendly, welcoming team of volunteers and staff who support each other and have a lot of fun along the way. We value every volunteer and the unique perspective, skills and energy you bring. 

Whether you’re sorting donations, creating beautiful displays, or chatting to customers, every task you take on helps to build a more inclusive world. 

We value volunteer development, and as part of this role your can develop your skills further by training to become a till user alongside your regular shop volunteer responsibilities, or progressing into a Key volunteer, a role which includes opening, running, and closing the shop in the absence of the manager.

Key responsibilities: Key volunteer 

Being a Key volunteer includes all the same responsibilities as a shop and till volunteer. However, if you’re interested in taking on additional responsibilities, you can train to become a Key Volunteer, helping the shop manager by:

• Helping supervise the shop and other volunteers.
• Supporting the shop manager to make sure customers have a great experience.
• Opening and closing the shop when needed.
• Cashing up at the end of the day.

No one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it. St John Ambulance teaches people first aid so they can be the difference between life and death, and you can help us do this.

As a Network President for Oldham, Rochdale & Tameside– you will support the Network Lead; act as an ambassador to the local community on behalf of St John Ambulance and the Order of St John, promoting the charity’s objectives and our work within the local community.

You will have established links in the community and be able to help SJA achieve our charitable aims by developing relations both externally and internally with local units, volunteer managers, regional staff and with the County Priory Group and other Presidents. All you do will be aimed at supporting the area to fulfil our vision: ‘Everyone who needs it should receive first aid from those around them. No one should suffer for the lack of trained first aiders.’

The role is only for people in Oldham, Rochdale & Tameside. You will need to attend a Network meeting that is two hours a week in Denton or Oldham.

 OVERALL PURPOSE

Digital and Media Engagement:

® Profile local activities and partnerships, creating content and stories for social media and other digital platforms.

® Build relationships with local media to amplify the work of WFRC and its stakeholders.

 Engagement Partner Collaboration:

® Work with the project managers and our local stakeholders to identify opportunities to increase the charity’s profile.

® Attend online and in-person meetings with local partners in Wolverhampton to profile our work.

® Generate partner commitment to WFRC’s campaigns and initiatives.

® Work collaboratively with local stakeholders to deliver communications and engagement strategies that showcase our partnerships and impact.

What You’ll Do

Support people aged 50+ to build confidence with their phones, tablets, or computers. You’ll help them learn basic digital skills so they can stay connected and independent.

You will:

• Provide one-to-one support at Digital sessions
• Help with everyday tasks like email, Zoom, downloading apps
• Guide people to feel confident using their own devices
• Answer questions and troubleshoot problems
• Record support sessions on Charity Log
• Identify common digital needs and refer to extra resources if needed

Uniform Manager

Challenge Adventure Group (“CAG” for short and the operating name of CAG Trust) is a voluntary youth organisation for Knowle, Dorridge and beyond aimed at boys aged 10 and above.

As our name suggests, we provide challenging, adventurous and fun activities and the D of E Award for young people in their leisure time. Taking part in fun experiential activities enables members to develop their physical and mental skills and capacities and reach their full potential of becoming positive, active and happy citizens.

Summary

CAG was formed in 2009 and became a charity, CAG Trust, in 2019.  We have a distinctive uniform for meeting nights and for when we’re out and about on trips.  We are proud of our branding and both members and leaders enjoy wearing our variety of rugby-style shirts, cosy fleeces, soft shell jackets and hats.

When we do really special trips, like our legendary ski trip, we design a uniform specifically for that event - it’s different each time and serves as a reminder of what an awesome time was had by all participants.  All our uniform is high quality, long lasting and is built to withstand all our challenging adventures whether it be indoor climbing or scaling Snowdon.

We are looking for a volunteer to monitor and organise uniform orders, log and chase payments and distribute to / from suppliers and to / from members.

Description

Responsibilities:

• Carry out an annual audit of the uniform stock and liaise with the Treasurer and Membership Secretary to ensure that there are enough supplies available for each age group / size.

• Keep the uniform stock tidy and in good order by ensuring everything is in the right place.

• Maintain an inventory of items and keep track of numbers sold and numbers required.

• Research and source suppliers selling good quality, hardwearing kit.

• Ensure that suppliers are providing good value for money.

• Monitor and organise uniform orders in good time to restock supplies.

• Liaise with the Membership Secretary to remain aware of new members and their uniform requirements.

• Log and chase payments in conjunction with the Treasurer.

• Communicate frequently with the Group Leader and CAG Management Committee to keep them up to date.

We are looking for a volunteer who ideally should have / be:

About the role

This is a voluntary, non-executive governance role with a time commitment of just 2 to 3 hours per month. As Finance Trustee, you will Chair our Finance and Fundraising Sub-Committee, providing board-level oversight of LAH's financial health: reviewing management accounts, scrutinising budgets and forecasts, ensuring our financial controls are robust, and supporting the wider Board of Trustees at Latin American House to understand financial risk and sustainability.

You will work closely with LAH Director and finance team, contributing to the approval of annual accounts and budgets, and ensuring we meet our Charity Commission and Companies House obligations.

This is strategic oversight, not day-to-day operations - the hands-on finance work stays with our staff.

Ideally you'll enjoy fashion, and the fun of a charity shop - you'll help shoppers find hidden gems. Together Drug and Alcohol Service is the commissioned community drug and alcohol provision for Devon. It provides a range of support, interventions and treatments for those wanting to make positive changes to their drug and/or alcohol use, as well raising awareness and supporting family members.

Recovery Support Volunteers can be involved in various aspects of service delivery. It is a front line, client facing role and may involve a focus on one particular area, such as group work or Duty support, or, it may involve a combination of tasks and activities. What You’ll Do

As a UCAN Enfield Ambassador, you’ll play a key role in helping people find out about and engage with the UCAN project, which promotes healthy lifestyle changes through free exercise, nutrition and wellbeing sessions. You’ll help support sessions on the day and raise awareness in the community.

You will:

• Attend UCAN exercise or nutrition sessions to take the register and gather feedback from attendees

As a Shop Volunteer you’ll be joining a friendly, welcoming team of volunteers and staff who support each other and have a lot of fun along the way. We value every volunteer and the unique perspective, skills and energy you bring. 

Whether you’re sorting donations, creating beautiful displays, or chatting to customers, every task you take on helps to build a more inclusive world. 

We value volunteer development, and as part of this role your can develop your skills further by training to become a till user alongside your regular shop volunteer responsibilities, or progressing into a Key volunteer, a role which includes opening, running, and closing the shop in the absence of the manager.

No matter your reason for volunteering – whether it’s to meet new people, build new skills or support Sense’s cause – there’s a place for you in one of our shops. 

Due to the nature of the role, we require all applicants to be aged 16 or over. You must have a UK address to volunteer with Sense.

Key responsibilities: Shop volunteer 

You’ll spend time doing a range of activities, including:

• Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service, helping create a wonderful shopping experience.
• Receiving donated items from the public, thanking them for their support.
• Sorting, steaming and preparing donations for sale.
• Helping to display stock in eye-catching and exciting ways.
• Keeping the shop floor clean, safe and tidy.
• Talking to customers about Sense and the work we do.
