On Tuesday 09 June, the London Legal Support Trust (LLST), will host its annual fundraising event, the London Legal Walk, bringing the legal community together to raise funds in support of free legal advice charities across London and the South East.
Last year over 18,000 legal professionals from over 1000 organisations took on the challenge, stepping up for justice. To make this year’s event an even bigger success, we are on the lookout for enthusiastic and dedicated 1-day event marshals to join one of the largest single day fundraising events in the country and add value to the thousands of event attendees.
The event is attended by high ranking judiciary, the President of the Law Society, the lady Chief Justice and hundreds of London’s top law firms, advice agencies, and chambers. Want to be part of this special day and add skills to your CV? Take a look at some of the tasks you will be expected to undertake below:
Tasks
You will be positioned at a “cheer point” along the 10km route, where it will be your role to cheer and motivate walkers and offer support and encouragement as they go past. Your presence alone is enough to motivate thousands across the line and help raise as many funds as possible through a positive event experience. Other tasks may also include the setting up of the street party, registration desks, and stalls, as well as supporting in the cloakrooms.
Regular email contact and a full brief are provided so you are fully confident ahead of supporting this event. There will also be time to ask any questions and you will be provided information packs about your point on the route.
After you’re done, you will be able to enjoy the street party!
You can either sign up for the morning slot (9am-3pm) or afternoon (2pm-9pm) or both.

Job description
Our partner is an independent, non partisan think tank and registered charity working to build a confident and inclusive Britain. It brings together voices from politics, civil society and business to find common ground on issues including immigration, integration, race and identity.
The Treasurer will join the Board of Trustees and work closely with the Director and Chair to support strategy and financial sustainability. Responsibilities include supporting the Board’s financial decision making, ensuring trustees understand the charity’s financial position, overseeing the preparation and scrutiny of annual accounts, and advising on financial governance and compliance. The Treasurer will also support fundraising where appropriate and act as an ambassador for the organisation’s work.
The ideal candidate will hold an accountancy qualification or have strong financial management experience at Board level. You will be confident communicating financial information to non financial trustees and committed to a collaborative, cross party approach to social change.
The Board meets quarterly in London, with some flexibility for remote participation. Trustees are expected to contribute between meetings as needed to support effective governance.

The Treasurer will join the Board of Trustees and provide strategic oversight of the organisation’s financial management and long term sustainability. Working closely with the Chair, Chief Executive, senior leadership team and external auditors, the Treasurer will oversee budgets, financial reporting and risk management, and ensure compliance with charity and company law. The Treasurer will also chair the Finance Committee and contribute actively to the wider strategic direction of the organisation.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified finance professional with strong experience in financial management, audit or governance, and the confidence to operate at board level. You will be able to explain financial information clearly to non financial trustees, exercise sound judgement, and bring a collaborative and pragmatic approach. About the role:
We are currently seeking qualified, women solicitor, barrister and qualified legal executive volunteers to provide legal advice on our Family Law advice line. All volunteering is done remotely and you must be qualified to practice in England and Wales.
What will you be doing?
We offer a safe space for women to talk about their situation and receive expert legal advice to enable them to make important decisions about their future.
For 50 years our free telephone advice lines have provided vital legal advice for women experiencing domestic abuse on issues such as protective orders, child arrangements, finances and divorce or separation.
We ask all our volunteers to:
- Provide advice on our advice lines for one 2-hour session a month (minimum);
- Attend the induction training session provided by Rights of Women;
- Give clear and accurate legal advice to callers;
- Be non-judgemental and non-discriminatory in their approach;
- Follow our procedures for making records of calls and obtaining monitoring information;
- Keep up to date with the law for the relevant advice lines;
- Attend all agreed advice line sessions (remotely);
- Inform us as soon as possible if they are unable to attend an agreed session;
- Abide by Rights of Women’s procedures, standards and policies, including equal opportunities and confidentiality in relation to staff, volunteers and users.

The qualifications and skills we look for in a volunteer are:
- A woman solicitor, barrister or CILEx member;

Background
The National Stalking Helpline is run by Suzy Lamplugh Trust. Suzy Lamplugh Trust is the UK’s pioneering personal safety charity and leading stalking authority, established in 1986 following the disappearance of 25-year-old Suzy Lamplugh whilst at work. We work towards creating a society in which people are safer - and feel safer - from the prevalence of stalking, harassment, aggression and violence, achieved through Supporting people; Education; and Campaigning. Our stalking helpline advice and advocacy service offers support and advice to thousands of victims of stalking every year.
Helpline volunteer role description
We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic and empathetic volunteers to respond to emails from victims of stalking. Full training will be given so previous experience in these areas is not mandatory.
Skills required:
· Excellent writing skills

· Be able to commit to one evening a week (around 3 hours) for at least 9 months
· Be able to attend the Helpline training dates
· Familiarity with databases is desirable
The Helpline’s opening hours are:

Service Delivery Volunteer
Last year 786,574 people were offered information and support from Victim Support. As a Service Delivery Volunteer you will provide specialist support services for people affected by crime.

Volunteering with Victim Support in Staffordshire
As a Volunteer in Staffordshire your role will include:
· Making a real impact by helping people affected by crime feel safer, supported, and empowered.
· Building valuable skills and confidence through specialist training in safeguarding, risk assessment, and supporting victims of crime.
· Representing Victim Support at local events and community activities, raising awareness and connecting with people who need help.
· Networking with local organisations and community partners, gaining insight into multi-agency working and referral pathways.
What do we ask of you?
In order to join us as a Service Delivery Volunteer, you must:
· Be 18 years of age or over.
· Be able to volunteer for at least 3 hours per week, for at least 12 months.
· Undertake training over a 10-week period – this includes five virtual training days as well as completing a workbook and online learning modules.
· Undertake an enhanced DBS check & be part of the DBS update service.
· Be able to provide two satisfactory references.
· Have an active email address that you are comfortable using in order to engage with VS communications.
