Brain Tumour Research is seeking a qualified and experienced accountant who is able to join our team on a Fixed Term contract (2-4 months) to support our team and undertake some important projects.

​​As the Project Accountant you will play a crucial role in helping the charity meet its strategic plans and objectives. You will be reconciling transactions between our internal records and those of our external partners, developing our cashflow model for our granting programme, housekeeping on our VAT records and more.

ETO are seeking a Finance Officer to join our busy, friendly team. The role works closely with the Executive Director and alongside the Administrative Assistant, supporting the finance function for the whole organisation. This is an ideal job for anyone wanting to work in an exciting and well-established cultural organisation. We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper or part-qualified accountant, an organised person with excellent bookkeeping and Excel/spreadsheet skills, an attention to detail and accuracy with numbers, as well as an ability to work well to tight deadlines. You will be able to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues and handle confidential information responsibly. You will have a methodical and organised approach.

The Finance Officer will work full-time from our Sheffield office (address below). Some hybrid working (combining office- and home-based working) can be considered if desired, with the expectation that at least 60% of the work will take place in the office.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their finance career to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced charity / NGO environment. You will support core finance functions including accounts payable, bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, donor fund tracking, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Process invoices and manage accounts payable 

• Record and reconcile donations and income streams 

• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate ledgers 

• Manage petty cash and staff expenses 

• Daily book-keeping and record keeping

• Assist with month-end processes (journals, accruals, prepayments) 

• Support budgeting and forecasting activities 

• Maintain organised financial records for audit and compliance 

• Assist with management accounts and donor reporting 

• Monitor and track restricted funds 

• Prepare and submit Gift Aid claims (HMRC) 

• Update financial data on internal systems (e.g. Notion) 

• Coordinate payments across international projects and teams 

• Issuing donation receipts

• Ensure finance processes are followed as per finance policies in place. 

• Assist with adhoc reports

• Expected to assist Operations team, for events to guide on best practices.

• Carrying out detailed walkthrough tests for all projects and payments. 

• Working with other departments to support them where required. 

• Handling finance-related queries internally and externally; keeping log of all finance letters and documents

• Keeping all finance-related tracker sheets up to date.

• Responsible for gift aid.

• Assisting with the audit queries and process. 

Requirements

Essential:

• Studying towards or qualified in AAT / ACCA / CIMA or relevant degree 

• 4-5 years’ experience in finance, accounts, or bookkeeping 

• Experience with accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) 

• Strong Excel skills and numerical ability; strong analytical skills 

• High attention to detail and organisation 

• Strong communication skills 

• Deadline oriented and has worked in a fast pace environment

Desirable:

• Experience in charity / non-profit finance 

• Knowledge of fund accounting / restricted funding 

• Exposure to audit 

• Understanding of Gift Aid 

• Been previously independently responsible for parts of finance function and as a team leader.

This new role will take over responsibility for developing and managing all finance activities and reporting in this rapidly growing charity. Key tasks and responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely financial records of all income received and expenditure incurred
• Implement a new accounting system, as the charity’s growth takes it from excel bookkeeping to a new integrated finance and reporting system
• Liaise with the payroll bureau to ensure accurate and timely processing and payment of monthly salaries and related costs
•  Working with the FHL office in Bethlehem, maintain accurate records of grants paid
•  Monitor and maintain correct reporting of Restricted and Unrestricted income and expenditure
• Manage all UK banking activities and maintain oversight of the charity’s bank accounts in Bethlehem 
• Prepare, validate and submit regular Gift Aid claims to HMRC
• Prepare monthly management accounts for the Management Committee and Board of Trustees
• Working with the CEO and Treasurer, prepare annual budgets and periodic reforecasts as required
• Working closely with our external auditors, deliver an effective year end close and audit process and ensure submission of Annual Trustees’ Report and Financial Statements to the Charity Commission 
• Supervise the Office Finance Administrator
• Assist in the formulation and implementation of financial policies, procedures and controls
• Perform any other duties as reasonably required within this role to support the work of the charity

We are looking for a Coordinator to help our small Quaker peace organisation to continue to thrive when our current Coordinator retires at the end of 2026.

You will work with NFPB trustees and members to support Quakers in the North of Britain in their peace work, which covers a wide range of issues. As the only employee, you will need to be self-motivated, flexible and able to work with volunteers and other organisations. As Head of Strategic Litigation, you will oversee and carry out CPAG’s work using legal cases for positive impact, to benefit families and children in poverty. The ideal candidate will be a solicitor (E&W qualified) with substantial post-qualification experience. You will have experience of conducting public law litigation and legal aid (publicly funded) work. You will be able to supervise the casework of colleagues, such as CPAG’s junior or trainee solicitor(s) and welfare benefit advisers, and support the professional development and wellbeing of your team. You may have experience of working with clients in vulnerable situations or with additional needs, for example, survivors of domestic abuse, refugees, disabled people or children and young people.

YOUTH OUTREACH WORKER: Violence Against Women and Girls (Female Applicants Only*)

Youth violence is a problem that significantly affects young people, their families and entire communities. At Oasis, we believe that violence can be prevented by taking a holistic public health approach. Oasis Community Hub Hadley encompasses a range of integrated and diverse community projects which together have a common aim to bring transformation to the whole person and the whole community. Through this holistic approach we have been instrumental in shaping the way young people are supported after experiencing trauma, violence or aggression.

Oasis Youth Support at North Middlesex Hospital is seeking a dedicated Outreach Worker: Violence Against Women and Girls Specialist to accompany young women who attend North Middlesex Hospital A&E department due to a violent or aggressive incident, on their journey to make positive choices with the aim of breaking the cycle of violence through 1:1 mentoring.

You will be part of a large team based at the hospital and supported by the Youth Support Project Coordinator, as well as the wider Community Hub Team based in Ponders End, Enfield.

 The key responsibilities within the role are:

· Support young people and develop a bespoke mentoring programme that meets their needs

· Develop and evaluate a model of care that enables young people to benefit from community based interventions

· Planning and delivering sessions focusing around specific areas of violence against women and girls for young people and professionals

· Assisting the team by facilitating high quality information gathering/sharing to track the support given and the success of the project

You could be successful in this role if you: 

· Are passionate about making a difference to young people’s lives

· Have the ability to build positive relationships with young people as well as professionals

· have a relevant professional qualification (e.g. JNC, QTS, QSW), or relevant experience

· Have experience of working in a youth/community setting affected by youth crime

· Experience of mentoring / supporting young people

· Are self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and organise your own time
